Dekra-Lite 25 Inch Flag Pole Tree of Lights Collection Instruction Manual
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Most Flag Poles can be retrofitted to accept the Dekra-Lite
Flag Pole Tree of Lights in the following sizes: 25’, 30’, 35’, 40’
ITEMS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR INSTALLATION:
- Aerial Equipment that matches or is greater than the height of your Flag Pole, i.e. Boom Truck, Scissor Light, Man-Lift
- Hand Tools – common hand tools and ratchet socket set
- Manpower – for safety we recommend always two people on a project involving Aerial Equipment
If you have either landscape or hardscape around the base of the Flag Pole, please select the following instructions below, per the type of base around your Flag Pole:
IF THERE IS LANDSCAPE SURROUNDING FLAG POLE
Pre-Installation:
If you have landscape surrounding the base of your Flag Pole, please
address if any plants or bushes need to be relocated or trimmed so the pie
shaped metal bases of the Flag Pole Tree of Lights can be staked or set at an
even level around the Flag Pole.
When moving in your Aerial Equipment, please lay down plywood to make sure
your equipment is not damaging the landscape, or make sure the landscape is
firm enough to handle the weight load of your equipment.
IF THERE IS HARDSCAPE SURROUNDING FLAG POLE
Pre-Installation:
If you have hardscape surrounding the base of your Flag Pole, please address
if you need to secure the pie shaped metal bases of the Flag Pole Tree of
Lights to the hardscape.
Do you need to drill into the hardscape or are you going to counterweight the
base with a weight system, i.e. sandbags, metal ballast etc…
When moving in your Aerial Equipment, please make sure your hardscape can
support the weight load of your Aerial Equipment.

INSTRUCTIONS
-
STEP 1
Move Aerial Equipment into position adjacent to your Flag Pole. -
STEP 2
Remove any Flags and Ball Top, strap down rope halyards to Flag Pole so they don’t interfere with installation. -
STEP 3
Set the Top Ring that supports Lights and Star to the top of the Flag Pole.
The “top” of the Top Ring should be installed approximately 8” to 12” from the top of the Flag Pole.
Align the top ring so the star is in the correct position and facing the correct direction. -
STEP 4
Once the ring is set in place, tighten with the adjustable band and then the 24” Crystal Star can be installed and secured. -
STEP 5
After the 24” Crystal Star is secure, attach the 50’ Green Extension cord to the Flag Pole with electrical tape (not supplied). Do not plug in the extension cord to the Star without first securing the extension cord to the Flag Pole. The weight of the extension cord is too heavy to support the plug connection between the Star and the extension cord. Then, power up the Crystal Star and verify that it is in working order. -
STEP 6
You can begin to install the light strands. For a 25’ Flag Pole Tree of Lights you will be supplied with 80 – 50-bulb LED Light Strands. You will only need 78 strands for the Tree of Lights; the extra strands are for future installations, if needed. -
STEP 7
The light strands should be installed one at a time, clockwise.
IMPORTANT: The female plug is always at the top, the male plug will hang down. Secure each strand to the top ring with a cable tie. Drop the strands slowly once they are secured so pressure is not placed on the cable tie connection. -
STEP 8
Once the 78 light strands are secured at the top of the Flag Pole, lower down to test each light strand to make sure all are in working order. -
STEP 9
Lay out the four (4) base sections of your Flag Pole Tree of Lights. Level out each section and bolt together. Level each section up or down to assure they are level. -
STEP 10
Verify that your wiring harness is in working order and then begin to install your lights one at a time. The light strands should be positioned approximately 6” apart, center to center. You will notice you have extra lengths of light strands, do not be
concerned. These extra lights will be woven into the garland that is provided during the last step of the installation process. -
STEP 11
Once all the lights are plugged in and tested, then start to secure each strand of lights to each of the metal loops on the base frame. Pull the light strands tight to the frame and attach with a cable tie.
WARNING , do not pull the light strands too tight as to break the wiring in the light strand. -
STEP 12
Pull out each of the 10’ Sections of Garland. Fluff the garland out by stretching out each of the twigs in the garland. Fluff, luff, Fluff. Once the garland is prepped, then apply it to the outside of the ring base. The garland has a wire core, so the branches can be simply twisted to each other when the garland is attached to the frame, no cable ties are needed. -
STEP 13
Then weave the extra lighting into the garland as needed.
COMPLETED!
You now have a beautiful Flag Pole Tree of Lights.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
