INSTALLING SHOE STRETCHER INSTRUCTIONS
ONE – PREPARE THE STRETCHER
- The shoe stretcher should be completely closed before we can insert into your shoe. To do this, turn the metal handle counterclockwise. This should close the toe portion.
- Next, spin the lengthening plastic wheel counterclockwise to push the heel portion up against the toe portion. If you don’t do this, it will be difficult to fit the stretcher into your shoe.
- If you need to target a specific area of your shoe, insert one of the eight plugs into the stretcher in a spot that matches the problem area on your shoe. If you have more than one target, insert an additional plug.
TWO – INSERTING THE STRETCHER INTO YOU SHOE.
- First insert the toe portion into your shoe and push to the front. You should be able to feel it, and plugs you attached, through the shoe leather.
- Then, while pushing the stretcher up towards the toes, push the heel portion down carefully into your shoe. This might take some pushing down inside the heel. Do your best to get it in without damaging your shoe.
STEP THREE – STRETCH THAT PUPPY
- First, you will need to turn the lengthening plastic wheel clockwise to move the heel portion of the stretcher all the way to the back of the shoe.
- If you are wanting to stretch length, then go ahead and turn the lengthening plastic wheel clockwise some more to stretch your shoe from front to back. You will see and feel the tightness. Don’t allow it to get too tight.
- If you are not stretching the length, just leave it snug (but not tight) at the back of the heel.
- Next, to stretch the width of your shoe, turn the metal handle clockwise. This will open the toe portion of the stretcher to stretch the width of your shoe.
- Once you feel the toe portion through the outside of your shoe and it feels snug, give it a few more turns to achieve the optimum stretch. This step will also push any bunion plugs you attached into the side of your shoe.
WAIT AND REMOVE
Leave the stretcher in your shoe for at least 24 hours. The longer in your
shoe, the more the shoe leather can stretch and relax.
Then, remove the stretcher by closing it back up again and taking it out. So,
turn the metal handle counterclockwise to close the toe portion, and spin the
lengthening plastic wheel counterclockwise to push up the heel portion.
Then slowly remove the toe portion out of the shoe and pull out the stretcher.
FIVE – WEAR YOUR NEW STRETCHED SHOES
Does it fit well? Much more comfortable? Or does it need some more stretching?
Repeat as many times as needed.
