INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION
FOR
Safety Information
Read the precautions and instructions in this manual before installing and using this lock. Save this manual for future reference.
CAUTION
Please use four alkaline batteries for the best performance.
- A. Do not attempt to disassemble any internal components of the lockset personally. You will void the limited warranty.
- B. Do not drop or hit the lockset. Too much shock may result in permanent damage.
- C. Do not use pins or sharp objects to press on the keypad.
- D. Always create a backup of information you want to keep (such as the programming code and user codes). Please use the last page of this booklet as your reference.
- E. Please change programming code before operating this lockset.
CARE and MAINTENANCE
The following instructions should be followed to properly protect and maintain your lockset:
- A. Remove locks, or do not install locks, prior to painting your door.
- B. Periodically clean with mild soap and a soft cloth only.
- C. Do not use any abrasives or chemical products containing alcohol, benzene, hydrochloric acid or nitric acid, and avoid using sharp or abrasive objects to clean this lockset.
- D. Do not let any water or liquid into lockset during installation process.

Pre-installation — Door Preparation
NOTE: If your door is pre-drilled, check the hole sizes to make sure they are the proper size. If they are the proper size, skip to the Installation section.
Using the template, mark the door and drill the holes, and chisel out a mortise.
NOTE: Drill from both sides to avoid wood splitting.
Prepare the door jamb –
use the strike plate as a template to drill the latch and screw holes and
chisel out the mortise. The
strike plate must fit flush with the surface of the door jamb.

Installation
INSTALLING THE LATCH
- A. Attach the correct faceplate

- B. Set the latch backset
CAUTION: Be sure the latch cam is upright before making any backset adjustment.
For 2-3/4″ (70mm) backset.

Remove the Battery Cover The cable must be arranged as shown in the diagram.
- C. Install batteries and perform automatic bolt direction determination.
CAUTION :
- Please use four alkaline batteries for better performance.
- Please set up the lock and perform bolt direction determination to complete the installation.
NOTE:
- The lockset will perform automatic bolt direction determination.
- The product is then ready for use when automatic bolt direction determination is completed.

HOW TO LOCK / UNLOCK / PROGRAM THE LOCKSET

To lock Touch the screen to lock.
Use a mechanical key to lock. To unlock To unlock, enter valid User Code or Programming Code.
After the screen is activated, enter Guiding Code first if it is on (see 2- 2).

- The default Programming Code is “ 12345678 ”.

- 3 Beeps means something was entered incorrectly. Please redo the step again
RESTORE TO FACTORY SETTINGS
- This will erase all stored information, including bolt direction
- Please re-enter the default Programming Code to set up the lock after restoring to factory settings.

- Make sure prior to installation latch bolt is retracted and key as not in lockset when placing torque blade horizontally through latch.
B. Feel a bump while turning the thumb turn or the key?

- Please execute lock & unlock function to allow the motor to reposition itself again.
- Redo the Automatic Bolt Direction Step.

- Make sure the cable is well-connected to the port, and was not damaged during installation.
C. Programming Code can not be changed.|
- Please refer to 2 – E) in the user guide to restore factory setting and reprogram all codes.
D. What should I do if wrong code was entered?|
- Press C button once and continue to input code according to regular procedures.
E. Can not delete all User Codes/cards .|
- Make sure the whole code entering process is completed within 10 seconds, otherwise the unit will time out.
- Make sure the Programming Code has been entered correctly.
F. Can not add a new user code/card.|
- Make sure the whole code entering process is completed within 10 seconds, otherwise the unit will time out.
- Make sure the Programming Code has been entered correctly.
- The new User Code / Card will not be accepted when the capacity is full. Try to delete any or some existing User Codes / cards and then add new one(s) again. A User Code must be at least 4 to 8 digits.
G. “Auto lock” does not function.|
- The batteries are getting low if the battery indicator keeps flashing. please replace with four new batteries for the best performance (alkaline batteries only ).
H. Lockset is not able to unlock by touch screen.|
- Make sure you have entered the correct User Code.
- The battery is low if the battery indicator light keeps flashing. Please replace with four new batteries.
- Check the strike plate to make sure it is properly aligned & clear so the bolt can freely enter the hole.
I. Lockset is unable to reset.|
- Please refer to 2 – E) in the user guide to restore factory setting.
- The battery is low if the battery indicator light keeps flashing. Please replace with four new batteries.
J. How to operate the lockset in darkness?

- Touch the screen to activate the lockset back light.
K. The red indicator is still on after setting is completed.|
- Check if [SET] button is jammed.
- Re-install the batteries.
L. The lockset locks when I enter my code and unlocks when I touch the screen.| Un-install the interior and exterior assemblies. Before re- installation, please follow these guidelines:
- Make sure the bolt is in the retracted position.
- Do not have any key in lock cylinder.
- Make sure the torque blade is inserted horizontally.
- Reset unit back to factory settings and follow steps for setting bolt direction.
