It is essential to comply with these instructions in order to avoid accidents
and prevent damage to the appliance:

General Notes
Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this appliance to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use.
- The power adapter is only suitable for use in dry rooms.
- Check if the output current, voltage and the polarity of the power adapter match the information on the connected appliance!
- Do not touch the connected power adapter with wet hands!
- When cleaning if necessary disconnect the appliance from the power adapter.
- Ensure that the cable of the power adapter does not become kinked, jammed, driven over or come into contact with heat sources.
- Do not use a damaged power adapter.
- Do not repair the appliance yourself, but visit an authorized specialist.
- The appliance and the mains lead have to be checked regularly for signs of damage. If damage is found the appliance must not be used.
- Use only original spare parts.
- In order to ensure your children’s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach.

Special Safety Instructions for this Appliance
WARNING of electrical shock:
- Keep the appliance dry!
- Keep the power adapter dry.
- Do not charge the appliance in the vicinity of bathtubs, sinks, or other vessels containing water.
- If the appliance accidentally should fall into water, disconnect the power adapter from the wall socket immediately.
- Charge the appliance in a cool and dry location.
WARNING of electrical shock:
- The appliance is intended for use with safety extra-low voltage. Connect only to a power supply according to the specifications on the rating label.
- If the connection cable of this appliance has been damaged, it must be replaced with a special connection cable available from the manufacturer or its customer service.
- Do not replace any parts. Do not perform any modifications. Risk of electric shock!
WARNING: Risk of injury!
- Do not use the appliance if the clipper head is damaged.
- Never remove an attachment during operation!
- This appliance may be used by children, from the age of 8 and persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or persons with inadequate experience and lack of knowledge if they are supervised or have been trained and understand the hazards involved concerning the safe use of the appliance.
- Children must not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Do not use any power adapter other than the one supplied.
- Use the hair / beard trimmer only for trimming scalp hair or whiskers.
Handling Batteries / Rechargeable Batteries
Insert correctly!
Do not short circuit!
Do not disassemble!
Danger of explosion! Do not expose batteries to intense heat, such as
sunlight, fire or similar.
Batteries can leak and lose battery acid. If the appliance is not used for
long periods, remove the battery.

Power Supply
The included rechargeable batteries may also be replaced by non-rechargeable
Mignon AA / R6, 1.5 V batteries.
WARNING: Danger of explosion! Do not charge!
- When using the appliance with non-rechargeable batteries, make sure that under no circumstances it is being connected with the power adapter.
- If you put the appliance equipped with non-rechargeable batteries into the stand / charging station, the power adapter shall under no circumstances be connected to it.
Inserting the Batteries / Rechargeable Batteries
- Take the appliance and the rechargeable batteries out of its packaging.
- Open the battery compartment at the back of the appliance.
- Insert both batteries. Pay attention to the correct polarity (see bottom of battery compartment)!
- Close the battery compartment again.
Charging the rechargeable batteries
WARNING:
Please ensure that rechargeable AA / R6, NiMH, 600 mAh batteries
(accumulators) are inserted in the battery compartment. Risk of explosion:
when trying to charge
non-rechargeable batteries.

Turn the appliance off: Slide the switch down. “ON” can be seen on the switch.

Connect the power adapter connector with one of the following jacks.
– The socket directly at the bottom end of the appliance.
– Alternatively place the appliance in the charging station. The socket is at the rear. -
Plug the power adapter into wall outlet.

The indicator light remains red during the charging process.

Charge the appliance before first use for 12 hours.
NOTE:
- The charge indicator does not indicate the state of charge of the rechargeable battery.
- Mere mains operation is not possible.
- After initial use, do not charge the battery for longer than 10 hours at one time.
CAUTION:
After 10 hours always disconnect from mains power supply.
NOTE:
You can extent the lifetime of the rechargeable battery by following these
steps:
- Only charge after the battery is nearly exhausted.
- Do not charge for more than 10 hours.
- Charge the appliance at temperatures between 0 °and + 40 °C.
- In case the rechargeable batteries are faulty, replace them with two new ones of the same types. Observe the details under “Technical Data”.
Using the Appliance
Switching On and Off
Slide the switch to turn the appliance on or off.
Adjust Cutting Length
- Turn off the appliance. “ON” can be seen on the switch.
- Select a comb attachment. The comb attachments are labelled with numbers.

4| approx. 18 - Attach the desired comb: Also refer to figure B on page 3. Slide the blades of the clipper head into the jags of the comb.
- To remove the comb attachment, pull it off the clipper head.
Cut Hair and Beard
WARNING: Risk of injury!
Do not press the shaving head of the hair / beard trimmer too firmly against
the skin.
NOTE:
- Only cut dry hair with this appliance.
- Start by using the biggest comb attachment and cut your hair / beard step by step to the desired length.
- Select the cutting length with a comb attachment.
- Turn the appliance so that you are able to see the back. Set the switch (2) to the left position.
- Switch the appliance on. “OFF” can be seen on the switch.
Thinning out Your Hair
This appliance has a thin-out function.
- Use the appliance with a comb attachment.
- The different positions of the switch (2), you will be able to produce different results.
Outlining and Shaving the Neck
- Use the appliance without a comb attachment.
- Set the switch (2) to the left position.
- The shaving head allows for precisely outlining the beard contours, as well as a clean shaving of the hair line at the neck.
Finish Operation
Turn the appliance off.
Cleaning
WARNING:
- Switch off the appliance before cleaning. Disconnect the power adapter from the electrical outlet.
- Do not submerge the appliance in water!
- Do not immerse the power adapter in water!
CAUTION:
- Also do not clean the appliance under running water! The electronics could get damaged.
- Do not use a wire brush or other abrasives.
- Do not use sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.
- Use the cleaning brush to remove remaining hair after use.
- Clean the casing with a slightly damp cloth, if necessary.
- Always clean the power adapter with a dry cloth.
- Regularly apply 1 – 2 drops acid-free oil onto the blades of the clipper head.
Remove / Attach Clipper Head
The clipper head is locked to the housing. Please also refer to the figures C
and D on page 3.
- Push back the clipper head with your thumb in order to release the catch.
- After cleaning, insert the clipper head, latch nose first, into the housing. Then press the cutting area against the housing until it locks into place.
Storage
- We recommend that you keep the appliance in the original packaging if it will not be used for long periods. Before doing so, remove the batteries / rechargeable batteries.
- Always store the appliance out of the reach of children in a dry, well ventilated place.

Disposal
Dispose of Batteries / Rechargeable Batteries
WARNING:
Before removing the batteries / rechargeable batteries, disconnect the
appliance from the power supply.
** As a consumer you are legally bound to return exhausted batteries /
rechargeable batteries. Return the battery at a collection point for batteries
and / or hazardous waste. Ask your municipality for further information.
Meaning of the “Dustbin” Symbol**
Protect our environment: do not dispose of electrical equipment in the
domestic waste.
Please return any electrical equipment that you will no longer use to the
collection points provided for their disposal.
This helps avoid the potential effects of incorrect disposal on the
environment and human health.
This will contribute to the recycling and other forms of reutilisation of
electrical and electronic equipment.
Information concerning where the equipment can be disposed of can be obtained
from your local authority.
