appliance.
Read the instruction manual and the separately enclosed safety instructions
very carefully before using this appliance. Keep these documents, including
the warranty certificate, receipt and, if possible, the box with the inner
packaging in a safe place. If you pass the appliance on to a third party,
always include all the relevant documents.

Important information for your safety is specially marked. It is essential to
comply with these instructions in order to avoid accidents and prevent damage
to the appliance:

Unpacking the Appliance
- Remove the appliance from its packaging.
- Remove all packaging material, such as foils, filling material, cable ties and cardboard packaging.
- Check the scope of delivery for completeness.
- If the contents of the packaging are incomplete or if damage can be detected, do not operate the appliance. Return it to the dealer immediately.

Warnings for the Use of the Appliance
Read the instructions!
Only use with “PC-HSM / R 3052 NE” power supply unit! For the purpose of
recharging the battery, only use the detachable supply unit provided with this
appliance.
Do not use power supply with damaged plug! If the pins of the plug part are
damaged, the plug-in power supply shall be scrapped.
WARNING of Electric Shock:
- Keep the power supply unit dry.
- Do not use this appliance in close proximity to water if the power supply unit is connected (e. g. bathtubs, shower basins or other vessels containing water)!
- Do not charge the appliance near bathtubs, shower trays or other vessels containing water.
- If the appliance does fall into water, first unplug the power supply unit from the wall socket.
- Charge the appliance in a cool, dry place.
- Do not replace any parts. Do not make any modifications.
WARNING: Risk of Injury!
- Do not press the shaving head of the shaver too hard on the skin.
- Do not use the appliance if the shaving head is damaged.
- Never remove an attachment during operation!
CAUTION:
- Choose the place for charging so that the appliance is not exposed to direct sunlight or other sources of heat.
- Do not charge the rechargeable battery unattended.
- Always unplug the power supply unit from the wall socket after charging.
Notes for Use
- Only trim main or beard hair with the appliance.
- Only cut dry hair with the appliance.
- Start with the longest setting and trim your main hair/beard hair gradually to the desired length
Charging the Battery

Turn the appliance off. 0 can be seen on the switch (6).

Connect the power supply plug with one of the following jacks:
• The socket (5) directly at the bottom end of the appliance.
• Alternatively place the appliance in the charging station. The socket is at the rear. -
Plug the power supply unit into wall outlet.
-
Charge the appliance before first use for 10 hours.
• The indicator light remains red during the charging process.
• The charge indicator does not indicate the state of charge of the rechargeable battery.
• If the rechargeable battery is empty, the appliance can be operated via mains power. In order to do so, connect the power supply unit directly to the appliance. -
After initial use, do not charge the battery for longer than 8 hours at one time.
• After 8 hours always disconnect from mains power supply.
You will extend the life of the rechargeable battery if you observe the following:
- Wait until the rechargeable battery is almost empty before charging.
- Do not leave the appliance connected to the charger for more than 14 hours.
- Only charge the appliance at an ambient temperature between 0 °C and + 40 °C.
Using the Appliance
Switching On and Off
Slide the switch (6) to turn the appliance on or off.

Adjust Cutting Length
The cutting length comb can only be adjusted if the appliance is switched off.
- Attach the cutting length comb.
- Set the desired cutting length:
• Increasing the cutting length? Turn the wheel (3) in the direction of the blade.
• Decreasing the cutting length? Turn the wheel (3) in the direction of the charger socket.
– You can read the setting from the display (7).
Cut Hair and Beard
- Select the cutting length.
- Switch the appliance on. I can be seen on the switch (6) and the indicator lamp lights up green.
Outlining and Shaving the Neck
The shaving head allows precise outlining the shape of the beard, even in
difficult to reach places as well as a clean shaving of the hairline at the
neck.
- Turn the appliance off with the switch (6).
- Remove the cutting length comb (1) and turn the hair clipper on again.
Thinning Function
- Slide the button (2) towards . The blade is partly covered. Only the hairs which meet the blade first are cut.
- Slide the button towards to turn off the function.
End of Operation
Switch off the appliance. 0 can be seen on the switch (6).
Cleaning
WARNING:

Switch off the appliance before cleaning.
Unplug the power supply unit from the socket. -
Do not immerse the appliance, the charging station or the power supply unit in water!
CAUTION:
- Also do not clean the appliance under running water! The electronics could be damaged.
- Do not use a wire brush or other abrasive objects.
- Do not use any sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.
- Regular cleaning and maintenance ensures optimum results and long lifetime.
- Use the cleaning brush to remove remaining hair after use. Remove the attachment comb (1).
- Clean the casing with a slightly damp cloth, if necessary.
- Always clean the power supply unit with a dry cloth.
Attach / Remove Shaving Head
The shaving head is locked to the casing.
- Slide the button (2) towards .
- Push back the shaving head with both thumbs to open the catch.
- Replace the shaving head after cleaning first at the bottom and then at the cutting area.
- Replace the attachment comb.
Important Care Advice
To maintain the cutting performance of the shaving head for a long time,
regularly apply 1 – 2 drops of acid-free/resin-free oil, such as shaving head
oil, sewing machine oil or precision mechanics oil to the shaving head. This
lubrication keeps the shaving head running smoothly and prevents the blades
from becoming blunt.
Storage
- Clean the appliance as described and allow it to dry completely.
- Always store the appliance out of the reach of children in a well-ventilated and dry place.
- The storage temperature should be between 10 °C and 20 °C.
- We recommend storing the appliance in its original packaging if you do not intend to use it for a longer period of time.
- Rechargeable battery lifespan: Even when switched off, the rechargeable battery is constantly discharging. If you do not use the appliance for a longer period of time, charge the rechargeable battery at least every 4 to 6 weeks.

Warnings for the Use of the Appliance
WARNING: Risk of injuries!
- Only remove the prominent nose or ear hair. Do not forcefully push the appliance into the nostril/auricle. You can hurt yourself when it is inserted too deep!
- Do not use the appliance if the shaving head, blade holder or blade are deformed or damaged!
- Do not remove the shaving head during operation!
- Do not introduce the appliance further into the nostril /auricle than to the narrow tip of the shaving head.
CAUTION:
- The shaving head and blade are precision-machined and must not to be exposed to heavy loading, impacts or similar.
- Do not put any sharp objects into the shaving head.
- Protect the appliance from moisture or liquids.
- This appliance is only meant for removing nose and ear hair. Do not use the appliance for any other purposes.
Handling of Batteries

Do not expose batteries to intense heat, such as sunlight, fire or similar!
- Batteries can leak battery acid. If the appliance is not in use for a long period of time, remove the batteries.
- In case of battery leakage, make sure not to rub the liquid into your eyes or mucous membranes. In case of contact, wash your hands and rinse your eyes with clear water. Seek medical attention if any discomfort persists.
- Different battery types or new and used batteries must not be used together.
- Batteries are not to be disposed of together with domestic wastes. Dispose of the used batteries at the relevant collection bin or at your dealer’s.
Inserting of the Battery
(Battery is not Included in the Scope of Delivery)
- Turn the lower cover towards and remove it.
- Insert a 1.5 V battery of the type MIGNON AA into the battery compartment. The positive pole (+) has to show towards the shaving head.
- Close the battery compartment again: Place the marker on the cover to the symbol . Turn the cover towards until it snaps audibly into place.
Using the Appliance

Remove the transparent protection cap.
-
Slide the switch towards OFF in order to turn on the appliance.
• When the switch snaps audibly into place, the appliance works continuously.
• If you release the switch before it snaps audibly into place, the appliance will switch off again. -
Guide the tip of the shaving head into the nostril or auricle.

Slide the switch back towards ON after usage in order to switch off the appliance.

Clean the shaving head with the cleaning brush after usage.

Put the transparent protection cap back on.
Cleaning
CAUTION:
- Do not immerse the appliance in water! The electronic components can be damaged.
- Do not use a wire brush or other abrasives.
- Do not use sharp or abrasive cleaning agents.
1. Switch off the appliance before cleaning.
2. Remove the battery from the battery compartment.
3. Loosen the shaving head by turning it anticlockwise and remove it.
4. Remove remaining hair from the blade holder using the cleaning brush. You can also blow off the remaining hair from the holder.
5. Place the shaving head onto the blade holder again. Turn it tight clockwise until it snaps audibly into place.
6. Put the transparent protection cap back on.

Remove/Dispose of Rechargeable Batteries
Hair and Beard Trimmer
This appliance is equipped with rechargeable Ni-MH batteries. Remove the
battery before disposing of the appliance.
As a consumer you are legally bound to return exhausted batteries/rechargeable
batteries.
WARNING:
Disconnect from mains power supply before removing the batteries!
- Remove the 4 screws on the bottom of the housing with a small Philips head screwdriver.
- Separate both halves of the casing.
- Remove the rechargeable batteries.
Return the batteries to a collection point for waste batteries or hazardous waste. Ask your municipality for further information.
Nose and Ear Hair Trimmer
Your appliance contains batteries. If these batteries are spent, follow
the instructions below:
CAUTION:
Batteries/rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste!
- The batteries must be removed from the appliance.
- Take spent batteries to the appropriate collection point or to a dealer.
- Your town or local authority can provide information about public collection points.
