JAMARA 412508 Lead Battery

Safety information

  • Lead battery Art.-No. 412508 12 V 12 Ah

As a user, you are responsible for the correct operation and handling of the Lead-acid batteries. Correct operation and handling includes, in particular, assembly, charging, use and even selection of the application area. You as the user are liable for damage to the product itself or caused by it, if the damage is due to incorrect operation or handling errors. Please read the user manual carefully as it contains important information and  warnings.

WARNING! Lead-acid batteries (hereinafter also referred to as cell (s) or battery) can develop hydrogen and oxygen gas, especially during charging. In case of improper use, damage, deep discharge or overcharge, this may result in an explosive mixture; RISK OF EXPLOSION!

ATTENTION!
Always observe the following warning/safety instructions:

  • The battery may only be charged under adult supervision! Monitor the charging process.
  • Only charge the battery on fireproof, non-combustible surfaces!
  • From a certain nominal voltage (e. g. with series connection >24V) a dangerous contact voltage can occur.
  • If the cell (s) overheat, smoke or burn, they must not be touched. Keep a safe distance and provide suitable extinguishing media. Extinguish burning cells/packages with sand; powder extinguisher, CO 2.
  • The cell voltage must not exceed 2,4V per cell. Excess charge and excessive currents destroy the cell.
  • The cell voltage must not be less than 1,75V per cell. Deep discharge destroys the cell.
  • Use the cell (s) only in/with terminals/chargers with safety circuits.

CHARGE/DISCHARGE

  • The maximum charging currents of 1,2A and the maximum discharge currents of 12A continuous + 20A short (less than 1 second) must be adhered to.
  • Fast charging is not possible.
  • The voltage must not exceed 2,4V per cell and must not fall below 1,75V per cell.
  • The cells may only be charged with a suitable charger.
  • The maximum temperature of the cell (s) must not exceed +60°C.
Do not charge a lead-acid battery that shows signs of rust.

STORAGE:

  • Before storage, charge the cell (s) to approx. 65 % – 85 % (approx. 2V per cell)
    • do not store the cell (s) in a discharged or fully charged state.
  • In case of longer storage time (>1 month) the state of charge must be checked occasionally. The storage of deep-discharged cells leads to their destruction. The cell voltage must not fall below the above-mentioned minimum permissible cell voltage. Ambient temperature 0°C to +45°C
  • Store this cell (s) only in fireproof, non-flammable containers!
  • Do not stack lead batteries on top of each other for storage.
  • Never remove valve seals. Sealed lead batteries are maintenance-free and must not be refilled with water.

Disposal restrictions

Batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of in domestic waste. You are obliged to dispose of batteries (seperate collection) appropriately. After use you can return batteries free of charge to the retail store. As batteries contain substances that can be irritant, can cause allergy and are highly reactive, separate collections and proper recycling is important to the environment and to your health. If the batteries are marked with a chemical symbol Hg, Cd or Pb below the crossed-out waste bin on wheels it refers to that more than 0.0005% of mercury (Hg), more than 0.002% of cadmium (Cd) or more than 0.004% Lead (Pb) is included.
