Installation

• Q1: Double-click the yellow icon of the Portable IWB Server to run the program, but cannot find where the program icon is.
  • A1: The program icon may hide in the taskbar at the left bottom of the desktop, please use the mouse to click the triangle to find and drag out the icon and then left-click to choose calibration.
• Q2: How to install the F35L whiteboard in the right position?
  • A2: F-35L is suggested to be put at a distance from 1.5M to 5M from the projection screen. For example, when the projection size is 80″, F-35L should be installed at a 3~4m distance from the projector. You can adjust the distance during installation by using our software. For more details, please refer to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCsD61OGvCs.
• Q3: Can the camera part be located on a table under the ceiling-mounted projector or does it have to be on the projector?
  • A3: Yes, you can put the whiteboard camera on the table, but make sure the camera can capture the whole screen of the projector and make sure there are no obstacles between the projector screen and the camera, in case the signal from the E-pen will be stopped.

Use with the projector

• Q1: Do I need a projector to use with this? If so, what kind?
  • A1: Yes, it must be used with a projector. Because F-35 portable IWB is a USB device, that is connected to the computer by a USB cable. The computer connects to the projector by VGA or HDMI cable. Any kind of projector whose brightness is more than 200ansi lumens can work.
• Q2: Can the F35 be used with a TV to turn it into a smart board, rather than a projector?
  • A2: Nope, we do not suggest users use the F35 whiteboard with a TV, better use a projector. Because there might be more light interference when used with a TV.
• Q3: Can I use it with a whiteboard?
  • A3: Yes, you can use it with the whiteboard or any flat white surface, just make sure you use it with a projector connected to a computer with Windows OS.
• Q4: I am interested to know does this Works on writing on a monitor or a wall.
  • A4: Yes, sure, it can work on the white wall with a projection picture, but not suggested to use it with a TV monitor. F-35 portable IWB needs to connect to your computer by USB cable, and the computer needs to connect to the projector by HDMI or VGA cable.
• Q5: Will this work to project an image onto a cookie or a cake?
  • A5: This is not a projector, but a portable interactive whiteboard, which needs to be used with a separate projector and computer. So it can not project an image onto a cookie or a cake.

Product usage

• Q1: Won’t calibrate
  • A1: Firstly, please make sure the anti-virus software exits first before you run the software. Secondly, make sure the F35L whiteboard is put in the right position where can make it see the whole projection screen. And then choose okay to see if the camera can see the bright light from the pen when you press the pen pin on the four corners of the projection screen. If can, it means that the camera works right, only need to press OK to do the calibration. If can not, please adjust the camera’s position to make sure it can capture the whole screen.
  • PS: If you can not see any bright light dot from the software’s camera window when you press the pen pin on the projection surface after you make sure the pen has battery and is powered on, that means, the pen is broken. Please contact us.
• Q2: Can I use a longer cable to connect the whiteboard to the computer? Because the length of the provided cable is not enough.
  • A2: Yes, the max. length of the USB cable can be 24M, but make sure there is a USB signal amplifier in the cable when its length is more than 10. Or the data transmission may not be stable.
• Q3: How many focus models do you have? Very short focus?
  • A3: Yes, we have three models, long focus, short focus, and ultra-short focus models. The standard version is long focus. Please contact us if you need short/ultra-short focus models.
• Q4： How close to the screen can you be and still work?
  • A4: The active distance from the projection screen is 1.5-5m. The longest distance from the signal receiver to the projection screen is 5m and the corresponding detecting size of the projection is 150 inches.

The compatible operating system is Windows

• Q1: What kind of operation system it can work with?
  • A1: The F35L Whiteboard can only work with the Windows OS, including Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1,10 and 11. Any other operation systems(including but not limited to Mac/Android/Chrome/Linux/ Raspberry PI, etc.) does not apply to it. So you have to install Windows OS in your MacBook if you want to us it.
• Q2: Can this be used with a smartphone if we don’t have a desktop computer?
  • A2: Sorry, it only works with a computer with Windows OS and a projector, so it can not work with a smartphone.

E-Pen

• Q1: Is there a working light on the pen? The system doesn’t track the pen. The only light is when it’s charging.
  • A1: There is a blue LED light when powering on the pen(push the button to one side). Then you will see blue light, and you can use it to do calibration and writing and then control your computer by the Open.
  • PS: The infrared light from the pen pin is invisible to human eyes, and can only be seen by the F35L whiteboard camera.
• Q2: Can I buy extra pens in case a student breaks or loses one?
  • A2: Yes, you can buy extra E-pens from us directly or from our online shop, here is the buy link, https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002835965554.html.
• Q3: Can this work with bare fingers instead of the Pen?
  • A3: No, users can only use our E-pen to control the computer on the projection.
• Q4: How to check if the pen is good？
  • A4: Use the Amcap software to take a video or photo. When the pen is powered on and click on the projection surface, and no bright spots can be seen in Amcap, then it is confirmed that the pen is defective; in this case, we will send a new pen to the customer.

Software downloading

• Q1: How to get the software for the F35L whiteboard?
  • A1: Please insert the pen drive to your computer copy the software to your Windows computer, and exit the anti-virus software first, before you install the software. You can also download it from our website, http://www.hivistaoptic.com/download.asp?unid=90&downloadid=16
• Q2: Will this work while using a PowerPoint or Microsoft note?
  • A2: Yes, it can. Only need to choose a pen in the toolbar of E-note, then you can annotate on the PowerPoint/Microsoft one note, then click the office embedded icon to save it.
• Q3: Can this support a third-party software? Such as Promethean Planet software?
  • A3: Yes, any third-party writing/whiteboard software that can be installed in Windows OS will work with the F35 whiteboard. But firstly, please make sure this software can run on your computer normally.
