MU-TRON MINI MU
OVERVIEW
- IN: A standard 1/4″(TS) input jack.
- OUT: A standard 1/4°(TS) output jack sending a mono output signal to whatever comes next in your signal chain.
- POWER: The MINI MU runs on a 9V DC power supply center negative, draw 25mA.
- RANGE TOGGLE SWITCH:
- LO: Sets the filter sweep to a LOW range for most rhythm guitar, bass guitar, and lower fret uses.
- HI: Sets the filter sweep to a HIGH range for accentuating harmonics or for up-the-neck or solo work.
- MODE SWITCH:
- LP (Lowpass Filter): Passes all the signals BELOW the PEAK and attenuates signals above the peak.
- BP (BandpassFilter): Passes signals only NEAR the PEAK and attenuates signals below and above the peak.
- GAIN: Controls the envelope of filter audio drive. This helps to adjust the sensitivity of the device to work with ouput impedance of the pickups in your instrument. A passive instrument with single coil pickups will require more gain than an instrument with active humbucker pickups. It will also depend on which combination of pickups are being utilized AND which other pedals are in the signal chain prior to the MINI MU. Ultimately, the filter should be easily manipuated by the touch of technique of the player.
- PEAK: Controls the filter audio response or notch shape of the filter. The knob works in an inverse fashion Turning the knob to the left (counterclockwise) will result in a very sharp curve, while turning the knob to the right (clockwise) will result in a mellower curve. Different mode/range combinations will require tweaking of this knob.
- EFFECT FOOTSWITCH: Determines whether the MINI MU effect is engaged or bypassed.
- EFFECT LED:
When the blue LED is OFF, the MINI MU effect is bypassed. When the blue LED is ON, the MINI MU effect is engaged.
Operating Instructions
The Mu-Tron MINI MU is a simple but effective and versatile envelope filter. Whether it’s guitar, bass, clavinet, or synths, the MINI MU will help you get the funk out. Although the MINI MU may seem to have less bells and whistles than its big brother the MICRO-TRON IV, this pedal still packs a mighty quack that is amazingly expressive and fun to play. With some additional intemal controls, the MINI MU has most the capability of the MICRO-TRON IV and has something that it doesn’t, “Bleed” By-Pass! This allows the MINI MU to act as a clean boost when in bypasS mode. This 2 for 1 functionality is a tone secret of one very renown guitar player. The MINI MU sits well after clean boost and octave effects and before modulation, delay, and reverb. Overdrive and distortions may work well pre and post MINI MU and we encourage players to find the best combination for their taste in music and their style of playing. IF THE POWER ADAPTER IS LOOSE, CONTACT YOUR ELECTRICIAN TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE AND UNSAFE AC cONNECTION. FOREIGN OBJECTS BE CAREFUL THAT FOREIGN OBJECTS AND LIQUIDS DO NOT ENTER THE ENCLOSURE THROUGH OPENINGS. CLEANING -UNPLUG THIS PRODUCT FROM THE WALL OUTLET BEFORE CLEANING. DO NOT USE LIQUID CLEANERS OR AEROSOL CLEANERS. USE A DAMP CLOTH FOR CLEANING.
