Safety instructions

Please read the instructions for use carefully, keep and safe it. If handing over the appliance, this manual must be enclosed. This kettle is intended for the preparation of ordinary quantities in the household and for householdlike, non-commercial purposes. Household-like applications include e.g. use in kitchens for employees in shops, offices, farms and other commercial enterprises, or guest use in pensions, small hotels and similar. The kettle may only be used together with the supplied base. Only fill the kettle with water. Milk, soup, instant drinks or the like will burn and damage the kettle's heating elements. The kettle may only be used while the lid is closed. For physical reasons, the socket can collect condensation during use, this is normal and does not mean that the kettle is leaking. Any condensation must be wiped off immediately. When the kettle reaches a temperature of 100° C, the electric kettle will switch off. This means that the water only boils for a short time. Allow the kettle to cool for 5 minutes after the water has boiled before refilling with water. Do not switch on the kettle if it is empty. In this case, the overheating control will be activated and the kettle will switch off automatically.

Danger of electric shock.

The kettle is equipped with an EU Schukostik (safety plug) to ensure proper grounding. If the appliance cannot be connected to such a plug, a suitable plug adapter must be used. Repairs to the kettle, e.g. replacement of a damaged power cord should only be done by trained professionals to avoid damage. This kettle can be used by children from the age of 8 and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised and have been instructed in the use of the appliance and have understood the resulting dangers. The ketyle and cable must be inaccessible to children under 8 years of age and they must not operate the kettle. Children must not play with the kettle. Children must not clean or descale unless they are at least 8 years old and under the supervision of adults.

Moreover:

  • Kettle, base or mains cable must never be immersed in water.
  • The kettle may only be used with the supplied base.
  • Only use the kettle when the mains cord and the appliance are undamaged.
  • The kettle and base must be kept clean and dry. Therefore, avoid spilling water on the base.
  • Immediately unplug the mains plug or switch off the mains voltage in the event of a fault.
  • The kettle must not be put in the dishwasher and must not be steam cleaned.

Fire hazard. Kettle and base must not be placed on or near hot surfaces, e.g. stove.

Danger of scalding. The kettle is heated during use. Therefore, only grasp the handle. The bottom of the kettle can be hot from residual heat, so it must not be touched. The kettle may only be used with the lid completely closed. If the kettle fills up above the ‘max’ mark, there is a risk of boiling water spraying out. The kettle must not be used near water, e.g. in bathtubs, sinks or other containers. The kettle and base must be on a firm, level and stable surface when in use.

Choking hazard. Do not allow children to play with the packaging.

Usage

How to use the kettle. Open the lid and fill with clean, cold water. However, never all the way to the ‘max’ mark. Put the lid on and press the button with the ‘on/off’ symbol. When the water has boiled, the kettle goes out with a ‘bib-bib’ sound. It is possible to keep the water warm at either approx. 60° C, 75° C or 90° C. Press the button with the 'function' symbol with the three dots and select the desired program. The kettle heats the water to the selected temperature and keeps the water warm until the kettle is switched off by pressing the ‘on/off’ button.

Maintenance. The kettle is kept clean on the outside with a soft cloth. Inside, the kettle must be kept clean and free of limescale deposits, which can be removed with 32% acetic acid, mixed in a 1:2 ratio with water. Let the mixture work for several minutes with the lid on and rinse with clean water. Do not immerse the kettle in water when cleaning.

Dry cooking protection. The kettle has an overheating protection, which switches off the kettle if it is switched on without water.

Complaint. Right of complaint according to current legislation. In the event of a complaint, the kettle must be handed in where it was purchased together with the purchase receipt.
