Operating Instruction For Heirloom Collection 82000 series
Congratulations on owning a Pierre Laurent watch which contains one of the
best Swiss Made mechanical movements in the world.
The watch has no electronic parts, no battery or capacitor (which could be
expensive to be replaced). With proper maintenance, the watch will last many,
many years.
The mechanical automatic movement in a Pierre Laurent timepiece works on your
own body energy. When you are wearing the watch, every time you move your
wrist, the highly sensitive rotor of the watch will rotate and transmit your
body energy into mechanical energy which will be stored by a spring inside a
barrel. Usually, it requires a continual wear of at least 6 to 8 hours in
order for the watch to save up energy to full capacity with a maximum power
reserve of 38 hours.
Under normal wear condition, the watch should be serviced or reconditioned by
qualified watch technicians once every 3 to 5 years in order to maintain your
watch at the optimal functioning order.
Model – 82000 Series
Movement: Caliber PL 101 / PL 103
Swiss Made mechanical movement, 26 jewels, automatic winding, Incabloc shock
resistance.
Case:
45.0 mm diameter, stainless-steel case with front and back sapphire crystals,
gold plated models are with 10 microns of 18K gold.
Water resistant to 100 metres.
Water Resistance:
All Pierre Laurent watches are tested under atmospheric pressure to meet
international standards. Water resistance is achieved by installing seals
between the major parts of the watch case. The watch is fitted with a series
of gaskets and a specially designed crown, which together seal the watch and
prevent moisture from entering the case. To maintain the integrity of this
water-resistant system, periodic maintenance is required. The gaskets and
crown are subject to wear and deterioration under conditions of normal use.
Therefore, these parts should be inspected and replaced as needed each time
the watch is opened for service.
Screw-Down Crown:
The watch is equipped with a screw-down crown, which helps seal the case
against water and moisture. Before attempting to set the time, you must first
unlock the screw-down crown by turning it anti-clockwise for 6 to 8 turns
until it loosens. After your watch has been set to the correct time, by using
two fingers, apply a little pressure and turn the crown clockwise gently until
the screw thread of the crown and the case pipe is engaged. Continue to turn
the crown until it is tight to achieve water resistance.
There are three crown positions:

C.0 Normal position:
The crown is tight against the watch case for maximum water resistance -
C.1 Winding position:
Unlock the crown to C.1 position by turning anti-clockwise 6 to 8 turns. In this position, you can wind the automatic watch manually by turning the crown clockwise.
When wearing the watch which has not been used for more than a day or two, it is advisable to wind the watch approximately 10 to 15 complete turns to give the watch enough initial energy to run smoothly without stopping or running slow. -
Time setting position:
Once the crown is unlocked, pull crown gently to position C.2.
Turn crown anticlockwise to advance the hour and minute hands to the correct time.
Please always remember to screw in the crown tight against the watch case when finished for water resistance purpose.
