FUNCTIONS (FRONT)

  1. [POWER] switch: Switches the unit on and off. Make sure you switch the unit off when not in use.

  2. Signal input indicators: select the input you want to monitor by using the [MIX] knob (5).
Turn it to the left to check the analog [LINE IN] signal. (the level can be modified with the [INPUT GAIN] knob (4)
Turn it to the right to check the [USB] signal coming from the computer. This level can be modified in the computer
[SIGNAL]: shows if an input signal is detected
[CLIP]: When the line input is too high (input overload) this indicator turns red. In this case use the [INPUT GAIN] knob (4) to lower the input signal level

  3. [INPUT] switch: used to adapt the [LINE IN] audio input (9) to the audio source that is connected:
[LINE] position: you can connect any line level audio source to record it on your computer or to monitor is when you use the unit only as a pre-amp.
[PHONO] position: use this position if you connect a turntable that has no LINE output (internal RIAA amplifier is activated) If possible, please also use the ground connection.

  4. [INPUT GAIN]: line signals coming from different equipment can differ a lot. Most CD-players have 2V output while the output from a tuner or cassette deck is often not more than 350mV. You can use this knob to optimize the sensitivity of the incoming line/phono signal, refer to the indicators (2) for the optimal setting. To be able to see the input level of the [LINE IN] input, you have to select this input by turning the [MIX] knob (5) totally to the left

  5. [MIX] button: this button can be used to mix the incoming signals that will be sent to the monitor outputs (= the headphones output (7) and the LINE OUT (8) output).
    • When you turn the knob 100% to the left, only the analog sound source of [LINE IN] (9) can be heard.
    • When you turn the knob 100% to the right, only the sound of your computer that is connected to the USB input (10) can be heard.
    • When you turn the knob to the center position, both input sources (8) & (10) can be heard

  6. [MONITOR LEVEL]: controls the general output level of the headphones output (7) and the [LINE OUT] output (8)

  7. Headphones output: you can connect your headphones here.
IMPORTANT: always turn the [MONITOR LEVEL] button (6) down before plugging in any headphones.
