HOW TO USE
-
Remove the lid and fill the Spurge Water Heater with tap water. Do not fill past the ‘max’ level indicator that can be found on the inside of the unit.
-
Replace the lid and plug the unit into a power socket.
-
Press the ‘on’ switch. The heating light will illuminate and the water will begin to heat.
-
Set the required temperature on the thermostat dial.
Once the temperature has been reached, the ‘keep warm’ light will automatically switch on and the water will be kept at the specific temperature until required.
NOTE: The thermostat has a hysteresis of 5°C (10°F), so it is important to have a thermometer to check the temperature and ensure that the water is at 75°C (167°F). -
Use the tap to dispense the water.
-
Always make sure that approximately 3 cups of water remain in the appliance while it is turned on to avoid it overheating.
NOTE: This device has a thermal cut off switch to prevent a dry boil. If the element overheats, the thermostat will automatically turn off the machine. If you experience overheating, please wait a few minutes for the appliance to cool down and reset the temperature.
ADVICE FOR CLEANING & STORAGE
- Always disconnect the appliance from the power source before cleaning.
- Before use, rinse with clean water to remove any dust and cardboard debris.
- After use, the appliance should be cleaned immediately. If the remnants of wort and malt appear on the surfaces, do not let these dry out as this will significantly complicate the cleaning process.
- All stainless steel components can be cleaned using a conventional, unscented detergent. Abrasive agents and sponges/brushes could cause scratching and are not suitable for use. Ideally, use a dish brush to clean the base of the unit.
- Clean the valve and all components.
- After cleaning, allow the product to air dry or use a towel.
- Do not store in a damp area as this could cause damage to the product.
