BEFORE YOU START
Take a moment to congratulate yourself for taking a great leap forward towards
natural wellbeing by purchasing your SelfCare1®. Before making the most out of
the plants, please carefully read the instructions given in this guide.
READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING. THIS PRODUCT SHOULD ONLY BE USED AS
INSTRUCTED IN THIS MANUAL. YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO MAKE ANY MODIFICATIONS TO
THIS DEVICE.
Safety
PRECAUTIONS FOR USING THE DEVICE
The device must not be used by people (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental abilities or by people lacking experience or
knowledge, except if they have benefited from supervision or prior training
concerning the utilization of the device, ensured by a person responsible for
their safety. Children should be supervised to make sure they do not play with
the device.
This device can be used by children aged 8 and over and by individuals lacking
experience or knowledge or with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities,
provided they have been trained on how to use the device safely and are
properly supervised, and have been made aware of the risks involved. Children
shall not play with the device. Cleaning and maintenance of the device shall
not be performed by children unless supervised by an adult.
Never let the device come into contact with water, and do not put it in a
bathroom. Keep it away from all sources of humidity and heat (heating,
radiator, direct exposure to sunlight).
Unplug the device in the case of electrical storms.
This appliance incorporates a grounding connection for functional purposes
only.
In the event of a problem with the SelfCare1® or the power cord, immediately
unplug the device and contact the Family Self Care Customer Service.
Check that your electricity supply complies with the recommendations given on
the SelfCare1®. You must connect your SelfCare1® with the power cable supplied
in your shipment.
Place the device on a flat, horizontal and stable surface.
Place the device in a room at an ambient temperature between 10°C and 35°C
(between 50°F and 95°F) and with a moisture content of 65% maximum (which is
why we don’t recommend putting it in your bathroom).
Only use SelfCare1® cartridges. They are designed to ensure the optimum
operation of the device.
Do not use detergents or abrasive products to clean the device and do not
immerse it in water as this would cause electrical malfunction and
irreversible damage.
Do not try to repair or dismantle the device. That could result in damage.

limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful

can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in
accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio

However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a
particular installation
If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television
reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the
user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the
following measures:
- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
- Connect the equipment to an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver was previously connected.
- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USING ESSENTIAL OILS
Do not use on children aged under 7, pregnant or breastfeeding women,
people suffering from epilepsy or anyone allergic to the aromatic molecules.
Avoid contact with sensitive areas such as the eyes. In case of absorption or
accidental splashing into the eye, swallow or apply a vegetable oil
recommended by Family Self Care to dilute the essential oil and contact the
Poison Control Center.
Do not use for more than 3 weeks in a row, do not increase the dose, and
consult a doctor if no significant improvement is noted in the first few days.
Keep out of the reach of children, and away from heat and moisture.
Please comply with the SelfCare1® application’s usage recommendations.
Always wash your hands thoroughly after application.
The essential oil cartridges should preferably be kept away from heat,
moisture and excessive temperature variations. Keep the cartridge in its
original condition.

The essential oils contained in the SelfCare1® cartridges have been selected
by a committee of experts and are supplied by the best suppliers in organic
farming in France.
The plants are grown in an environmentally-friendly way. Essential oils are
quick and powerful because they can be quickly absorbed into the skin and the
body.
Due to their complex biochemical composition, essential oils have multiple
properties that are taken into account by the SelfCare1® programs. This is why
the SelfCare1® can propose new blends in case you run out of one of the
essential oils.
The SelfCare1® box
When unpacking the device:
– Handle it with care,
– Remove all the adhesive tape holding the SelfCare1®,
– Remove the accessories from the box.
Before using it, please check that the SelfCare1® and its accessories are not
damaged.

Using the SelfCare1® for the first time
CONNECTION
Positioning the SelfCare1®: our studies have shown that the best places to use
the SelfCare1® would be the kitchen, living room or bedroom.
Make sure the power cord is fully inserted and correctly plugged into the
device before plugging the cord into the power socket.
- Connect the power cord to the back of the SelfCare1®.
- Connect the power cord to a power socket.
- Switch ON to power up the device.
- Check that the screen lights up. The device is then ready to use right after.
**** Whenever you switch on the device, it checks that no recipe has been interrupted and that there has been no overheating.
INSTALLING THE CARTRIDGE AND THE CONTAINER
Only use SelfCare1® cartridges with your device. The cartridges are sealed for
your safety, do not try to open them. Keep the cartridge in its original
condition to ensure it will function properly.
Hold the device for this step to prevent it from tipping over or falling.
To remove the drawer:
– Hold the joystick and slide towards you the drawer out by hand.
This cartridge is filled and sealed with 8 vials of ready-to-use organic
essential oils. It is also equipped with an electronic chip. The traceability
information of the cartridge and its 8 oils are encoded in this electronic
chip.
To prepare the cartridge:
– Remove the cartridge from its packaging wi- thout shaking it.
– Tip the cartridge so that the caps are facing upwards.
– Carefully pull on the tabs to remove cleanly the 8 caps protecting each
vial’s opening.
– Check that there is no vegetable resin left on each of the vial holes.
– Position the lid on the bottom of the cartridge.
– Place its rod at the top of the arrow which is indicated on the cartridge.
– Clip the lid on the cartridge.
Your cartridge is ready to be used.
**** There is a mark on the cartridge showing you how to place the lid in the
right direction.
Turn the cartridge over and then:
– Check that the drawer handle is on the left (shutter in closed position) and
hold it in this position.
– Place the cartridge in the drawer positioning the triangular mark in the
direction of the machine.
– Make sure the cartridge is properly positioned in the lug so the electronic
chip of the cartridge comes into contact with the sensor of the SelfCare1®.
If a shutter handling problem appears, return the cartridge which is placed in
its drawer (holding it so that it does not come out of its compartment) to
ensure that the lug of its shutter is correctly engaged on the shutter lever
slide.
Hold the device for this step to prevent it from tipping over or falling.
Insert the drawer with its cartridge correctly positioned in the device and
close it by pressing it in gently.
You will hear a click when the drawer is properly pushed in.
PAIRING WITH THE SELFCARE1® APPLICATION
In order to function properly, the application requires a good internet
connection.
You must pair the application with your SelfCare1® before you can start
distribution.

Download the SelfCare1® application for smartphones or tablets from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Upon installation or first launch, the application will ask you for permission to access your Bluetooth and possibly your location and notifications. Remember to tap “yes” to all these requests for the application to work correctly.

Create an account and a profile by following the instructions of the application (You also have the possibility to create several profiles on your mobile application and follow the same instructions).

Always start by giving your year of birth, then enter your date and month.
-
Enter and register your contraindications medicines (this step is essential because the personalized and micro-dosed mixtures that will be offered to you will be carefully adapted to your needs).

If necessary enter and register intolerances you may have for certain essential oils by excluding them in the associated menu in your profile.

Activate the Bluetooth and location on your smartphone.
-
Switch on your SelfCare1®.
-
Access the connection page.

Look for the devices

Click on the device to use.
-
If the SelfCare1® has never been paired before, the “Bluetooth Pairing” screen will be displayed, and a PIN code will appear for 30s on the SelfCare1® screen. Enter the PIN code on your smartphone.
Your application may indicate that an update is starting. In this case, do not quit your application and do not switch off your SelfCare1®. This update can take up to 3 minutes.
Once your SelfCare1® and smartphone are paired, whenever you switch on your device, the SelfCare1® screen will display the message “How are you today?”. -
Once synchronization has been completed, the home screen will be displayed.

Operation principles
GLOBAL EXPERIENCE
The amount of essential oil distributed must be equivalent with the number of
drops listed in the program.
Note: the calibration of drops distributed by your SelfCare1® is extremely
precise: micro-dosed drops may be invisible to the naked eye. If you think
that more than the expected amount has been distributed, stop using your
SelfCare1® and contact Customer Service. 14
STEP-BY-STEP EXPERIENCE

Click on the + icon and access the programs offered.
-
Select your theme (you can also search for your theme by entering it in the « search » icon located at the top left of your page.)
-
Choose your program. Click on it and follow the procedure.
-
For each program, you will have:
– the name of essential oils used,
– the number of drops released,
– the number of drops of vegetable oil to place in the glass container to receive your personalized, micro-dosed blend. -
You can also modify each choice of essential oils to get another blend.
-
Scroll across the screen.
-
One or more how-of-use are recommended.
-
We recommend you take them once daily or over a few days.
-
Read the warnings over usage.
-
Unscrew the container lid and remove the plastic cover.
– Pour the number of vegetal oil recommended.
– Place the ready-to-use container on the base.
Your SelfCare1® and App screens will ask you to open the lid of the drawer. Open it to the right position (see the green drop sticker.) -
Click on `Deliver the blend’.
– Take your personalized micro-dosed blend. -
After receiving your micro-dosed blend, your SelfCare1® and App screens will ask you to close the lid of the drawer. Close it to the left. The green drop sticker shall disappear. When your SelfCare1® is not in use, close the drawer handle towards the left. Remember to always clean your glass container with hot water or in a dishwasher after each use to prevent other blends from being mixed with the previous one.
If you have a program to apply, do not hesitate to :
– Put vegetable oil drops in the palm of your hand,
– Start the program, – Place your palm under the machine,
– Open the lid and click on `Deliver the blend’ To get your micro-dosed blend directly into your hand.
After using your SelfCare1®
Once you finish using the SelfCare1® application, it will automatically
disconnect from the device.
Your SelfCare1® and smartphone will stay connected throughout the preparation
of your customized mix, even if you don’t use your smartphone.
The device will automatically end the connection with any connected Selfcare1®
application after 10 minutes
In standby mode, your SelfCare1
– Dims screen brightness,
– Displays the date, time, temperature, moisture, Bluetooth connection status,
and any messages,
– Remains available to prepare a new mix.
You are advised to switch off your device when you are not using it. Check
that the lid of the cartridge is always closed.
Notification, Calendar, and Feedbac k
For any program that requires taking a two-a-day or more personalized micro-
dosed blend, over a few days, your application icon will notify you.
In the lower status bar of your application:
– Click on the calendar’ icon on the left side of the screen. Every time, you will be shown the following message:
Your {Program Name}
program is now complete.’
You can directly note your appreciation in order to keep your history and
follow your progress.
Storage and replacement on the SelfCare1® cartridge
Before use, the SelfCare1® cartridge should preferably be stored in a dry
place, away from air and light and at a stable and moderate temperature. Once
installed in your SelfCare1®, the cartridge can remain stored there, without
any handling required.
The SelfCare1® application tells you the level of the various oils in the
cartridge and when it’s time to replace your cartridge. Since the cartridge
has an average autonomy life of more than 1,500 drops, for 50 programs of more
than 1,000 personalized essential oil synergies, the duration of daily use may
vary:

Uninstalling the SelfCare1® cartridge
Hold the device for this step to prevent it from tipping over or falling.
To remove the cartridge:
– Check if the lid is closed before opening the drawer.
– Pull the lever and slide the drawer to remove it.
– Remove the cartridge from its drawer.
– Reinsert the drawer.
If the cartridge is not fully used:
– Remember to always check if the lid is in the closed position.
– Keep the cartridge in a sealed bag or in its delivery box.
– Lay it flat.
If you want to reuse this cartridge again:
– Proceed with the installation as previously described.
– Your SelfCare1® will recognize the cartridge and its contents.
– You can continue to use it.
If your cartridge is empty:
– Place the cartridge in a protective sealing bag.
– Place the cartridge in a plastic, metal or e-waste landfill.

Maintenance
MAINTAINING YOUR SELFCARE1®
Clean the plastic parts, the aluminum base, and the screen with a slightly
damp clean soft cloth. If any essential oil comes into contact with a plastic
part (however slight the amount), clean it immediately with a few drops of
vegetable oil and a soft cloth. Do not use coarse cloth or any other material
that could scratch the plastic parts. Switch off and unplug the machine before
any maintenance.
MAINTAINING THE CONTAINER
After each use of your glass container, remember to clean it either with hot
water or in a dishwasher. It allows preventing another blend not to be mixed
with the previous on. If you would use a container other than both containers
supplied in the box:
– Prefer a glass container of the same size or larger.
– Ensure that it can be cleaned with hot water without damaging it.
In case of non-compliance with the container cleaning instructions, Family
Self Care cannot take any responsibility for any deterioration of the
essential oils.
RECYCLING THE SELFCARE1® AND ITS CARTRIDGE
ONLY APPLICABLE FOR EUROPEAN USERS
These products are subject to separate collection for their electrical and
electronic equipment in compliance with Directive 2002/96/EC.
The symbol showing a crossed-out dustbin means that at the end of its life
cycle, this device and its cartridge must not be discarded with ordinary
household waste, but must be taken to a recycling center approved for treating
waste electrical and electronic equipment.
By ensuring your device and its cartridge are thrown away at an appropriate
place you will help to prevent negative environmental impacts and health
issues that could arise in the case of improper disposal. Recycling will also
help to preserve natural resources.

Warranty conditions
Family Self Care guarantees the SelfCare1® for a period of two (2) years from
the date of purchase by the original buyer against failures due to
manufacturing or material defects occurring based on normal utilization of the
device. This warranty does not apply to the cartridges and accessories, or to
any part whose wear and tear is normal during the warranty period.
It does not cover minor deterioration caused by regular usage, faulty
maintenance or damage caused by accidents, improper use or negligence. Any
attempt to open or dismantle the device (or its accessories) will render the
warranty null and void. The warranty does not apply if the device is not
connected in compliance with the instructions, if elements other than Family
Self Care cartridges are inserted in the device or if the operating
instructions are not followed.
In no event may the above-mentioned warranty be invoked for any harm caused to
people or property during the operation of the device. The warranty includes
the replacement or repair of the device. A purchase receipt must be attached
to any warranty request submitted to the Family Self Care Customer Service.
The cost of shipping the device is not refundable.
