SOUND TOWN SWM16-MAX Wireless Microscope
FEATURES
TWO IN ONE: the wireless microphone receiver is also a sound mixer which
is equipped with rotatory adjustment controls which allow you to easily adjust
echo, tone, volume of the mies and music to the desired level.
INTERFERENCE FREE: the wireless microphone system comes with UltraHigh
Frequency(UHF) which is less likely subject to interference from other
equipment. It has 16 selectable frequencies and is compliant with the latest
FCC regulations.
FLEXIBLE CONNECTING OPTIONS : the receiver comes with 3.5mm (1/8″) TRS,
Optical/Toslink, HDMI input & output. Better yet, the TV ARC * also allows you
to connect a smart TV via HDMI ARC to the receiver through one HDMI cable(not
included) and make the set up a breeze with your home theater or speaker
system.
VERSATILE COMPATIBILITY: it works with an array of devices including TV,
smart TV, Blue-Ray player, notebook, iPad, tablet, home theater, receiver,
speaker and etc.
SUPERB SOUND QUALITY: built-in pop filter reduces potential popping sound
and helps deliver consistent and superb sound.
LONG RANGE OPERATION RANGE: up to 100 feet line-of-sight operation range.

- Connecting a smart TV to the SWM16-MAX receiver through HDMI requires your smart TV to have HDMI ARC port. Most TV manufacturers offer ARC output over only one HDMI port instead of all three or four ports on the set. This is usually indicated by a label on the set itself. If the HDMI ports aren’t clearly labeled, you can check the TV manual, which should indicate which HDMI port to use.

Power Indicator: The indicator will be iluminated when powered ON.

Power Switch: Press to switch the unit power to ON and OFF.

ECHO: Rotate the echo knob to your desired level.

TONE: This control is used to adjust the bass, treble quality of the sound. The bass is decreased and treble is increased when the control turned clockwise. The bass is increased and the treble is decreased when the control turned counter clockwise.

RF 1/2: The indicator will be illuminated when wireless microphone is on.

W/MIC A: Rotate to adjust volume of wireless microphone A.

W/MIC B+C: Rotate to adjust volume of wireless microphone Band wired dynamic MIC C.

MUSIC: Rotate to adjust volume of the audio source(Rear panel 13) such as computer, iPad mobile phone etc.

MIC C: Insert the 1/4″MIC plug of wired dynamic MIC into MIC C jack.

ANT: Receiving antenna of wireless microphone.

AUX IN: Connect this 1/8″ jack to an audio source with phone out such as computer, iPad, mobile phone etc.

AUX OUT: Connect this 1/8″ TRS jack to the INPUT of your amplifier or active speaker. (Mixed output for audio source and microphone signal.)

OPTICAL IN: Connect this Optical(Toslink) input to an audio source with Optical(Toslink) output such as TV, PC etc.

OPTICAL OUT: Connect this Optical (Tosi ink) output to the INPUT of your receiver or active speaker.

HDMI IN: Connect this HDMI port to an audio source with HDMI output such as PC etc.

HDMI OUT(TV ARC):
- a: When the HDMI IN”has input, use this port to output the mixed signal to your amplifier, home receiver, amplifier, soundbar or active speaker etc.
- *b: When you need to connect your smart TV comes with the HDMI ARC port(Audio Return Channel ), connect to this ‘TV ARC’ port and this port now used as an audio input, at this time you can output the mixed audio signal via AUX OUT or OPTICAL OUT to amplifier, home theater receiver, soundbar or active speaker etc.

DC IN jack: Connect DC jack of supplied AC/DC adapter to this jack.
OPERATION
- Connect the receiver to a power outlet through the power adapter provided and turn on the receiver.
- Put two alkaline AA batteries into the battery compartment of the microphone. Please ensure the positive and negative ends are positioned in the correct direction.
- Power on the hand held microphone. In case of any frequency interference, press the set button on the microphone and the microphone will be turned to a different frequency. There are up to eight frequencies to choose from.
- Please note that it will take a few seconds for the receiver to automatically syndicate the frequency with the microphone each time the set button is pressed.
- To connect the receiver to a device such as a TV, speaker, sound bar etc., please refer to the connection diagram below.
Note: Bluetooth connection
The SWM16-MAX comes with built-in Bluetooth function and you can choose to
pair the receiver with your Bluetooth device as well.
- Once you power on the receiver, the receiver will become discoverable as SWM16-MAX.
- In the settings of your Bluetooth enabled devices, set it to “discover”. From the Bluetooth device list, select the “SWM16-MAX”device. The SWM16-MAX microphone receiver is now paired with your Bluetooth enabled device. When Bluetooth is used to connect a device ( say a Bluetooth enabled cellphone) and the SWM16-MAX receiver, please connect the receiver via Audio Out port to the sound output device(say a speaker or sound bar).
The HDMI out port and Bluetooth cannot be used simultaneously.
CONNECTION DIAGRAM

TROUBLESHOOTING
Receiver & Microphone Does Not Connect
If your receiver’s RF signal is not showing a green light, the receiver and
microphone is not paired correctly. You will need to follow the instruction in
below and pair the receiver and microphone.
- Turn off both the receiver and the hand held microphone.
- While the microphone is turned OFF, long-press the power button on the microphone and do not let go.
- When the display on the microphone flashes “ld”, immediately quick-press the power button on the microphone and then immediately release the power button. The microphone’s pairing signal on the topright corner of the LED display will begin to flash.
- While the pairing signal on the microphone LED display is still flashing, turn on the receiver.
- The RF1/RF2 light on the receiver should show green once it is connected correctly.
Faint Sound or No Sound
- Verify connections to PA system
- Adjust channel volume knobs on the receiver/mixer
- Turn on handheld microphone
- Check that batteries are installed correctly
- Charge or change batteries
- Verify power-adapter is plugged securely into the outlet
- Check that receiver unit is powered on
Audio Interference, Artifacts, or Dropouts
- Identify and remove sources of interference: mobile phones, signal processors, electronics, etc.
- Charge or change batteries
- Move system away from metallic surfaces
- Provide line-of-sight from hand held microphone to receiver unit antennas
Distortion
- Lower channel volume
- Change or charge batteries
- Verify fidelity of signal cable to PA
