Set up

Set up the abioSCOPE® diagnostic system

  • Plug the power supply (AC adaptor plug) to the device and the power cable into the wall socket.
  • When turning on the abioSCOPE® for the first time, switch on the AC voltage switch “ – ”.
  • Then turn on the abioSCOPE® by pressing on the “power button”.

Caution

The tray is a moving part. Be careful not to trap your fingers when the tray is moving. Do not spill liquid on the tray or tray cover. In case this should happen, clean it with a disinfectant and dry it before using the device again. Do not use the abioSCOPE® without the device housing due to harmful light intensity causing permanent eye injury.

First Launch

Configure administrator account

Follow the step-by-step instructions shown on the screen.

  1. 1. When turning on the abioSCOPE® for the first time, a splash screen will be displayed while the device starts up.
  2. Choose to set up the administrator account password or not. This password shall be at least 8 characters long.
  3. Enter the credentials (user ID and password if applicable). When launching the abioSCOPE® for the first time the predefined User ID is “Admin”. Afterward, additional accounts can be created.
  4. The home menu will then appear. Choose between starting a test, consulting the test archive, configuring the abioSCOPE® and logging out.

Perfom a Test

Follow the step-by-step instructions shown on the screen.

Before performing the test, refer to the abioSCOPE® user manual and the IVD CAPSULE product insert for the complete test procedure and additional information.

  1. Touch the button “measure”. The tray opens automatically.
  2. Insert the filled capsule in the capsule holder on thetray. Touch the button “close tray”.
  3. Input patient’s and sample’s information using the onscreen keyboard or another connected input device. Press on “continue” to launch the test.
  4. The test is processing. A circle progress bar will be displayed to state the advancement.
  5. The results are displayed and recorded onto the internal memory.
  6. Touch “open tray” to retrieve the used capsule.

Caution

Only use the IVD CAPSULE provided by Abionic. Handle the IVD CAPSULE according to the instructions on the package insert and make sure the capsule is firmly closed before inserting it in the device.

Access the Archived Tests

Follow the step-by-step instructions shown on the screen.

After performing a test, all test results are stored on the abioSCOPE®. They can be accessed as follows:

  1. 1. On the main menu screen touch the button “archive”.
  2. To access the archived tests results, tap on “test archive”.
  3. The stored results can be browsed by swiping up and down. Tap on a result to open the test details screen.
  4. To return to the results list press “back”.
  5. The results can also be filtered and searched by tapping on “search”.
  6. Search the result by “Date”, “Patient name”, “Patient ID”, “Sample ID” or “Capsule type” and then press on “search”. To return to the results list press “back”.
