19HS HEAT SHIELD
INSTALLATION OF LOGSET WITH
(OPTIONAL) HEAT SHIELD MODEL 19HS
For installation of gas supply see ” Gas Connection” in log set owners
manual.
NOTE: Centrally locate Heat Shield in fireplace and place it deep enough into fireplace to accomplish adequate draft (if use as a vented heater is planned). Ensure that Heat Shield front is inside front edge of fireplace, see Figure 1. Fasten Heat Shield to floor of fireplace. On each side of floor frame of Heat Shield base, there is a “go through hole”. Position Heat Shield as described above. Mark hole for drilling. See Figure 1.
NOTE: When using Log Sets with optional Heat Shield, following minimums must be met:
CR/DX 18 – Front 25″ – Rear 23″ – Height 20″ – Depth 19 1/2″
CR/DX 24 – Front 30″ – Rear 29″ – Height 20″ – Depth 19 1/2″
CR/DX 30 – Front 36″ – Rear 32″ – Height 20″ – Depth 19 1/2″
EV100 – Front 34″ – Rear 31″ – Height 20″ – Depth 20 1/2″
EV200 – Front 36″ – Rear 31″ – Height 20″ – Depth 20 1/2″

To avoid any movement of gas log set during operation, screw base to floor of fireplace. Then follow log positioning in Section II.
NOTE: For first few hours of burning, you will have a paint and burning smell. It is recommended to leave fan off during this period. You may also want to raise a window or open doors.
