What’s in the box
This product is compatible with car displays with Android Auto support only (USB). Please refer to our website for a list of supported vehicles: www.m-gears.com.
- Not supported on commercial vehicles (trucks, large vans, etc.)
Device layout

How to use
- Insert in a USB port
– Insert the Mstick into the USB port on the car display that supports Android Auto (It takes about 30 seconds to boot up).
– Android Auto button will be activated on the car display.

If the Android Auto button is not activated at some car displays, connect a USB Y extension cable to the Mstick to increase the power supply. This product is compatible with car displays with Android Auto support only (USB). Please refer to our website for a list of supported vehicles. 2. Press Android Auto button
– Press the Android Auto button on your car display.-
Run Setup Wizard
– Follow the setup wizard’s instructions to proceed with the setup. -
Connect to the Internet
– To use various apps and content, the Mstick must be connected to the Internet.
– Connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi, Please refer to How to Connect to the Internet(p.10).

Android Auto is not activated on the car display
If Android Auto is not activated on the car display, it is usually due to the
following reasons: ˙

The car display does not support Android Auto
→ The Mstick is only available on car displays with Android Auto support. ˙ -
The vehicle or car display model is not supported
→ Some or all of the features may not work properly if the car or car display is not a supported model. ˙ -
The projection is not set to Android Auto
→ Please check if the projection is correctly set to Android Auto in the car display settings. ˙ -
Insufficient power delivery to the Mstick
→ Some vehicles may not supply sufficient power to the Mstick. Please supply additional power using the included USB Y extension cable. ˙ -
Wireless Android Auto is enabled on the car display
→ Please disable the wireless Android Auto function on the car display.
[How to Disable Wireless Android Auto] ① Enter ‘Settings’ on the car display.
② Go to ‘Wi-Fi Settings’.
③ Uncheck ‘Use Wi-Fi for phone projection’. (Disabled) -
The above method is based on Hyundai/Kia car models, and the disable method may differ depending on the vehicle model or brand.

Disconnection occurs
If the Mstick is disconnected from the vehicle, it is usually due to the following reasons. Please try the methods listed below in order to solve the problem.

Check the status of the USB extension cable
→ If you are using a USB extension cable, please check if the same problem occurs when plugging the Mstick directly.
If the problem does not occur when using the Mstick directly, there may be a problem with the USB extension cable.
Please use the other USB extension cable or plug in the Mstick directly. -
Check the status of the vehicle’s USB port
→ Please check if the same problem occurs when using Android Auto with an Android smartphone.
If the same problem occurs when using Android Auto with an Android smartphone, there may be a problem with the vehicle USB port.
Please check the status of the vehicle’s USB port with the vehicle manufacturer. -
Reset the device
→ There may be a problem with the Mstick system.
After resetting your Mstick, check if the problem still occurs.

Usingn the USB GPS
Connecting an external USB GPS device to a USB port on the Mstick allows you to use the Map and Navigation apps even on vehicles with no GPS support.
- After connecting a USB GPS device, it may take up to 10 minutes to receive GPS information.
- Bluetooth GPS tethering using smartphones is not recommended due to stability and performance issues.
How to use the vehicle’s microphone
When using the vehicle’s microphone, you can use various voice recognition
services on the Mstick.
– You can set the vehicle’s microphone in ‘Mstick Settings( )’
– Please select and use the microphone mode suitable for the vehicle you are
using according to the description of the ‘Mstick Settings( )’.
- In some models, the media volume may decrease or the vehicle button may not work while the microphone is in use.
- In some vehicles, the microphone may not work properly. For more information on the microphone mode, please visit our website (www.m-gears.com)
Mstick’s home screen
You can use Mstick’s home screen by customizing it with your favorite apps,
widgets, and wallpapers.
The initial home screen is shown below.
Navigation bar
Navigation bar to control the Mstick appears on the left side of the screen.
You can customize the navigation bar in ‘Mstick Settings( )’.
(Exit button) – Exits to the home of the vehicle display.
(Notification button) – Expands and closes the top notification panel.
(Recents button) – A list of recently launched apps appears.
(Home button) – Go to the Mstick home screen.
(Back button) – Moves to the previous screen.
How to connect to the Internet (Android)
- Activate the smartphone’s hotspot ① Go to ‘Settings’ and move to ‘Connections’.
② Tap to ‘Mobile Hotspot and Tethering’.
③ Tap to ‘Mobile Hotspot’.
④ Set the password.
⑤ Turn on the hotspot.
- The above method is based on Samsung Galaxy S10.
- To activate the smartphone’s hotspot, a SIM card with tethering is required.
2. Connect the Mstick to the smartphone’s hotspot
① Enter Android ‘Settings( )’.
② Move to ‘Network and Internet’.
③ Enter Wi-Fi and turn on.
④ Select the smartphone at the searched list.
⑤ Enter the password of Wi-Fi - When using the Internet or playing real-time contents, network data from the smartphone connected to the hotspot is used.
How to connect to the Internet (iPhone)
- Activate the smartphone’s hotspot ① Enter ‘Settings’.
② Tap to ‘Personal Hotspot’.
③ Set the password and turn on the hotspot.
- To activate the smartphone’s hotspot, a SIM card with tethering is required.
2. Connect the Mstick to the smartphone’s hotspot
① Enter Android ‘Settings( )’.
② Move to ‘Network and Internet’.
③ Enter Wi-Fi and turn on.
④ Select the smartphone at the searched list.
⑤ Enter the password of Wi-Fi - When using the Internet or playing real-time contents, please be aware that network data from the smartphone connected to the hotspot is used.
**** Unable to connect to the Internet
If the Mstick can’t connect to the internet, it is usually due to the
following reasons: ˙
Problems with the smartphone or the router
→ There may be problems with the smartphone or the router. Please check if you
can connect to the Internet using another smartphone or router. ˙
Problems with time settings on the Mstick
→ Please check if the ‘Automatic date and time’ is enabled in the time
settings of the Mstick.

Automatic date and time > Turn on ˙
Network data exceeds limit
→ Network data usage through hotspots or tethering may have exceeded the limit. Please check with your network provider customer center. For more information on the microphone mode, please visit our website (www.m-gears.com)
How to connect Bluetooth hands-free
To use the Bluetooth hands-free call function, you must register your
smartphone as a Bluetooth hands-free device with the Mstick.

For Bluetooth hands-free functionality to work correctly, the smartphone and vehicle must be connected via
Bluetooth hands-free before the Mstick boots. -
The Mstick doesn’t support Call control (accept/terminate) currently. Please use the call button on the steering wheel or the call UI on the car display.
[How to register a smartphone as a Bluetooth handsfree device with the Mstick]
- Enter Bluetooth Connection Mode on the Mstick
① Enter ‘Mstick Settings( )’.
② Go to ‘Bluetooth Hands-free’.
③ Go to ‘Hands-free device’.
④ Select ‘Add’ button.
- A Bluetooth hands-free connection between the Mstick and the smartphone is required to display call information.
- Depending on the smartphone when you receive or make a call via the smartphone’s UI, call sounds may be output from the smartphone instead of the vehicle speaker.
2. Connect to the Mstick from the smartphone via Bluetooth [Android] ① Enter ‘Settings’ and move to ‘Connections’.
② Tap ‘Bluetooth’.
③ Turn on Bluetooth and select ‘Mstick2 Lite’ at the device list that can be connected.
④ Select OK button in the connection check popup.
⑤ Select Confirm button when the contact synchronization popup is displayed. - The above method is based on Samsung Galaxy S10.
[iPhone] ① Enter ‘Settings’
② Tap to ‘Bluetooth’.
③ Turn on Bluetooth and select ‘Mstick2 Lite’ at ‘OTHER DEVICES’.
④ Select Pair button in the Bluetooth connection request popup.
⑤ Select Allow button when the contact synchronization popup is displayed.
Call sounds are output from the smartphone
If the call sounds are output from the smartphone, it is usually due to the
following reasons:

Vehicle and smartphone not connected by Bluetooth hands-free
→ If the Mstick boots before the vehicle and smartphone are connected, the vehicle and smartphone will not be connected by Bluetooth hands-free.
Using the ‘Boot delay’ function, connect the car and smartphone to Bluetooth hands-free before the Mstick is booted. -
Controlling the call with the UI of the smartphone
→ Depending on the smartphone when you receive or make a call via the smartphone’s UI, call sounds may be output from the smartphone instead of the vehicle speaker.
Control the call by using the call button on the vehicle’s steering wheel or the call UI on the car display.

If the smartphone and vehicle are connected by Bluetooth hands-free, you can
set the call sounds to be output from the vehicle speaker. (Smartphone’s call UI > Bluetooth > Select the car)- The smartphone or the vehicle is not compatible with the Bluetooth hands-free function
→ If the smartphone or the vehicle is not compatible with the Bluetooth handsfree functionality of the Mstick, call-related problems may occur. When using the smartphone or vehicle, please use the ‘Disable Hands-free connection’ function so that the smartphone and the Mstick is not connected by Bluetooth hands-free.
[How to Disable Hands-Free connection] ➡ Mstick Settings > Bluetooth Hands- free > Disable Hands-free connection > Turn on
- The smartphone or the vehicle is not compatible with the Bluetooth hands-free function
How to Update
Via Mgears Updater you can check and update your software to the latest
version. When a new software update is available, a notification is displayed
at the top of the Mstick. For more information, please visit our website
