Unpack your scooter by untying or snipping the wires holding it in its protective frame, then remove it from its packaging. We recommend saving the shipping material until assembly is complete to avoid accidentally losing small parts or components. Double-check that your scooter indudes the following smaller components: Keys (2 sets – ignition and storage), Fobs (2 sets- ignition and alarm), Charger, Mirrors, Headrest and Screw, Front Basket, User Manual.

Operating & Adjusting your Scooter

Turning your Scooter ON/OFF

  • Your scooter can be turned on in 2 different ways: manually and remotely. Once turned on, your scooter is locked into that mode of ignition until turned off. The other method will not affect the machine’s operation. (For example, if started with the remote fob, the keys can be inserted, turned, and even removed, and the unit will remain on until it is shut off with the remote fob.)

  • To start manually, insert the key into the ignition and tum dockwise. To tum your scooter off, tum the key counterdockwise from the on position.

  • To start remotely, double press the lightning bolt button! j ) on the ignition
fob. To shut off the scooter remotely, double press the unlock button! 13 ) on the fob once.

  • The unit should chirp, and the display should activate, indicating the scooter is on.

Driving your Scooter
The scooter features a variable twist ·throttle on the right handlebar. Gently twist the throttle grip inward to slowly accelerate to the desired speed. Avoid twisting too hard or too quickly, as this may result in jumps in acceleration, making steering less controllable.
To slow or stop your scooter, release the throttle and squeeze both brake levers to apply both front and rear brakes. Always apply both brakes at the same time, especially when traveling at higher speeds. Please note that the electric braking function of your scooter will prevent the motor from starting if the brakes are applied.
The scooter features control switches next to the throttle grip that adjust driving features. The upper switch, labeled 1-3, sets the current speed setting of the scooter. (Setting approximate speed: [1] – 4mph, [2] – 8mph, [3] – 15mph).
Drive with care on wet/slippery/icy surfaces as it will increase the distance needed to stop, allow extra room for braking in these conditions. When driving downhill it is recommended to release the
throttle to apply brakes as needed to control the scooter’s speed.

Alann System
The DJD features an alarm system that is controlled with the included ignition fob. This built-in security alarm is movement-sensitive, and once activated, it will sound the scootes alarm if your scooter is moved.
The method to activate the alarm is using the key fob. Press the lock button on the fob to tum the alarm on_ The scooter will chirp to indicate the alarm is active. If triggered, the alarm can be deactivated by pressing the unlock button ).
Please note, fobs come with the battery preinstalled. If a fob is not working or lighting up when pressed, first replace the battery. (1x CR2032 battery)

Maintenance & Care

The DJD requires minimal maintenance which can be performed by most users, a friend or family member, or a scooter technician. Visually inspect your scooter regularly for any signs of damage, especially after any collisions or accidents.
To ensure the safety and reliability of your scooter, do not modify your scooter, and always use parts, i.e. charger, specifically designed for the mobility scooter. Always make sure your scooter is turned off before performing any maintenance!

Safety Inspection List

BEFORE YOUR FIRST RIDE and periodically after, check the following:

  • Brakes:

  • Do electric brakes correctly bring the scooter to a stop when the throttle is released?

Tires

  • Are they properly inflated? (10PSI. Operaing Pressure; 24PSI. Maximum to Seat Beads)
  • Are the tires in good condition?

Lights

  • Do the tum signals function properly?
  • Does the headlight function properly?

Steering Handle

  • Does it tum freely?

General

  • Are there any loose parts, nuts, bolts etc?
  • Any issues found should be addressed before riding the scooter!

Charging your Scoote

Avoid dropping your charger and keep away from moisture & cold temperatures! Your scooter will only charge and operate with the breaker in the ON position!
Your scooter requires a full charge before your first use. To maintain the batteries life, charge after each use and don’t allow the battery to empty completely. Locate the charging port, open and insert the correct end of the charger into the scooter, then the other into an outlet. The light on the charger will illuminate Red and Red while charging and will tum Red and Green when charging is complete. (Approx. 8-10hours)

Please note: that your charger may become wann or emit sound during charging, this is nonnal. Oppositely if it doesn’t, this does not indicate a problem with your charger.

Battery
The battery in your scooter requires regular charging, even when not in use, to maintain its life. The maintenance charge should be perfonned at least once every two months if no other charging has occurred. If storing the scooter for an extended period of time, such as during winter, ensure that it is accessible to perfonn the required maintenance charging.
All batteries are affected by outside temperature. The battery will discharge faster at lower temperatures, resulting in a shorter trip time. Prolonged exposure to subzero temperatures may result in damage to the battery. The speed the scooter is driven at will directly affect the range and battery life of each ride. The faster the scooter is driven the shorter total ride time will be. Lower speeds will provide the best battery perfonnance. Avoid contact with flames, alkaline materials and direct prolonged exposure to sunlight.
Always charge your battery with the included charger, do not substitute with a different charger. For best results, charge after use and avoid completely draining the battery.

Tires
The condition of your tires not only directly affects the ability to drive your scooter but also its general performance. Replace worn tires as necessary, please contact customer service to inquire about placing an order. In the event your tire is unable to hold air. Check it for any cuts or punctures. In the event of a puncture the tire can be repaired at home with a basic patch kit for tubeless tires, or by a shop that repairs tires. In the event that there is a cut or greater damage to your tire(s) replacement parts are available to order, please contact customer service.
The tread on the tires is crucial to the scooter’s handling and safety. Worn out treads will reduce the grip between the tire and the driving surface resulting in less co ntrol and possible accidents.&.

Brake Adjustment
If you want to adjust the sensitivity of the brakes, please follow these steps:

  1. Locate the nuts inside the brakes, usually found in the cirded position as shown in the provided picture.
  2. Using appropriate tools, carefully adjust the nuts. Clockwise usually tightens the brakes, while counterclockwise loosens them.
  3. Pay close attention to adjust each wheel individually for consistent braking sensitivity and to prevent imbalance.
  4. Test the brakes after adjustment to ensure they respond appropriately

VIN Position
The VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) location on a mobility scooter is typically under the scooter’s tiller, as indicated by tine orange marking in the provided image. Remove the plastic cover plate using tools, and you’ll find the VIN stamped on the scooter’s frame.

Lubrication
This vehicle is designed with a differential motor for the rear axle and the gearbox needs lubrication with the gear oil. This should be changed every 2-3 years under normal driving conditions or if stored for an extended period of time.

Cleaning

To clean your scooter use a damp cloth with a neutral soap to wipe dean surfaces. Avoid high pressure or excess water as this may cause corrosion or shorts in electrical components
