The PERCEPT Gateway, when combined with PERCEPT Cloud, provides instant access to live and recorded video from connected cameras at any remote site. It consolidates various video surveillance systems for comprehensive monitoring and response capabilities through a single interface.
Hardware Installation
The PERCEPT Gateway can be placed on a flat surface or mounted using the
supplied bracket. Ensure proper cable clearance and unobstructed air vents.
Connect DC Power after all other connections to allow the unit to boot up
smoothly.

Adding the Gateway to Your PERCEPT Cloud Organization
The PERCEPT Gateway automatically tries to connect to PERCEPT Cloud when
internet access is available. Follow these steps to add it to your
organization:

- Registered account on PERCEPT Cloud
- MAC, PIN, and QR code from the Gateway label
Steps:
- Visit PERCEPT Cloud website or log in
- Locate Gateway’s MAC, PIN, or scan QR code
- Add the Gateway to your organization using the provided information

OVERVIEW
When combined with PERCEPT Cloud, the PERCEPT Gateway provides instant access to live and recorded video from any connected camera, from any remote site. The solution brings together disparate video surveillance systems to provide secure, comprehensive video monitoring and response capabilities—from a single pane of glass.
How it works
The PERCEPT Gateway is a small onsite edge appliance that seamlessly connects to local IP cameras in a few short steps, without an onsite IT specialist. A secure and encrypted gateway for live video, the PERCEPT Gateway keeps local recording of all connected cameras for a configurable time. Secure remote access to PERCEPT Gateways is provided by PERCEPT Cloud, a cloud-based device and video management platform that provides centralized management for any number of remote site gateways and cameras. PERCEPT Cloud offers device management and instant access to live and recorded video stored on every gateway through a simple, powerful web-based interface. No video is stored in the cloud.
The solution includes native support through a Genetec™ Security Center VMS plugin that allows your Genetec systems to securely connect to PERCEPT Cloud to access on-demand, live or recorded video from any camera, from any enrolled PERCEPT Gateway. This native integration allows for centralized live and recorded video monitoring by any remote personnel trained on Genetec™ software.
HARDWARE INSTALLATION
The PERCEPT Gateway can be placed on a flat surface, such as a desktop, or mounted via the supplied mounting bracket. Position the unit to allow for cable clearance at the rear of the unit. Make sure the air vents on top and front of the unit are not obstructed. It is recommended to connect DC Power after all other connections as the PERCEPT Gateway boots up as soon as power is available.
Connect the following items to the PERCEPT Gateway
ADDING THE GATEWAY TO YOUR PERCEPT CLOUD ORGANIZATION
The PERCEPT Gateway automatically attempts to connect to PERCEPT Cloud when it can access the internet. It can be added to your PERCEPT Cloud organization at any time before or after it is connected to the internet.
Before continuing, you will need:
- If you did not register in PERCEPT Cloud yet, visit https://perceptcloud.io/to create an account and organization. Otherwise, login to your PERCEPT Cloud account.
- Locate the PERCEPT Gateway’s MAC, PIN and QR code. These are printed on a label underneath the unit and on the box. This label looks like the sample shown here.
When adding the PERCEPT Gateway to PERCEPT Cloud from a device equipped with a camera (tablet, mobile, laptop), scanning the QR code enters the required information. Otherwise, the MAC and PIN displayed above the QR code needs to be entered manually.
Steps to add the PERCEPT Gateway to your organization
- In your PERCEPT Cloud account and organization, navigate to Home / Devices / Overview
- Click on the Add button
- Enter the Display Name, Mac Address and Device PIN then click on the + button, or scan the PERCEPT Cloud QR code from the PERCEPT Gateway label
- Click the Add 1 device button or repeat step above to add other device(s)
ADVANCED CONFIGURATION & NEXT STEPS
This guide is intended to quickly bring the PERCEPT Gateway into a PERCEPT
Cloud organization for the most common use case, an installation with wired
Internet access. All subsequent configuration, deployment and operations are
performed from PERCEPT Cloud. Refer to the following online resources for
deployment guidance and/or instructions to setup the PERCEPT Gateway with a
wireless internet connection (Wi-Fi / LTE).
