FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

  1. The BalanceBox® does not move down
  2. Did you mount the panel? The BalanceBox® needs the weight of the panel to work.
  3. Did you adjust the outer springs? If not, use a drill driver to turn the adjuster nuts counterclockwise /loosen. Do this for 5 seconds per outer spring one at a time (see the manual).
  4. Check the total weight of your panel including accessories, VESA bracket and wiring, if this is lower than the minimum weight of the BalanceBox® weight range, your panel setup is “out of range”. The weight range of your BalanceBox® is displayed on the product label and on the box label.
  5. Is something obstructing the movement?
  * Check if the Plastic Safety Cover is installed properly.
  * Are there objects like parts of the packaging left behind in the BalanceBox® or objects on the wall like an electric outlet? If so, remove those obstructions.
5. Take the BalanceBox® off the wall and check if the two wheels of the parallelogram are still seated on the curved tracks. If one of them has come off, don’t attempt to repair it, contact the dealer and ask for a replacement product, this problem is usually caused by rough handling during transport.
  1.  The BalanceBox® does not move up
  2. The BalanceBox® does not move up, it moves down; it is supplied standard in its highest position. To make it move down, follow the steps 10 to 12 in the manual. If the BalanceBox® has moved down and is in its lowest position tighten the outer springs or go to the next step.
  3. Check the total weight of your panel including accessories, VESA bracket and wiring, if this is higher than the maximum weight of the BalanceBox® weight range, your panel setup is “out of range”. The weight range of your BalanceBox® is displayed on the product label and on the box label.
  4. The BalanceBox® drops down from the top position
  5. Tighten the outer springs slightly to adjust the springs by turning the adjuster nuts clockwise.
  6. The BalanceBox® drops down from the top position but also moves up from the bottom position
  7. The setup of the inner springs is not correct, the balance is disturbed: tighten the inner springs slightly make sure the panel holds at the top, now loosen the outer springs slightly until the panel no longer moves up from the bottom.
  8. The BalanceBox® makes a noise when I operate it
  9. Check if the BalanceBox® touches the wall when moving down, if so, remove the panel and lower part of VESA bracket, go to step 8 of the manual and adjust the feet. (it is OK if the BalanceBox® is not mounted completely level if the wall is not completely flat or level).
  10. Check if any wiring for the panel is touching moving parts, make sure this wiring is mounted securely with a loop to allow the movement up and down.
  11. The noise sounds like something touching the springs when I move the BalanceBox® up and down. Put a wrench on each adjuster nut of the suspect springs, bend it slightly in different directions to see if the noise goes away. If you found the right spring, turn the nut a quarter or half turn to see if the noise goes away.
