Product Usage Instructions

Device Power Up

  • BMS04 can be powered up by applying a voltage between 8V to 72V.
  • The device has a rectifier inside, allowing for no polarity issues with the input voltage. Connect the power source to the device with ease.

Initial Startup Process

After powering up, BMS04 will display the logo followed by the first information on the LCD screen. The device will store the date and time in non- volatile memory. It then checks hardware resources like flash memory and SIM card installation.

Firmware Version and Data Collection

If the hardware checks pass, the device will display the current firmware version and start collecting data. The collected data will be displayed accordingly.

Web Server Setup

  1. Search for the device in the mobile WiFi list.
  2. Select the device to connect, and enter the password if required (default is 12345678).
  3. Open any browser and type in setup. local to access the BMS04 web server page.
  4. Set up device information by entering the WiFi hotspot SSID and password, renaming the device ID prefix and number, adjusting sending intervals, and setting a Web Server password.
  5. Press the Update button to confirm the data. The device will restart with the new settings.
  6. To read device data, click on Reading on the web server page to view most of the device data.

FCC Warning

This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. It should not cause harmful interference and must accept any interference received.
The user should maintain a distance of at least 20 cm between the radiator and their body to meet general RF exposure requirements.

FAQ

Q: How do I change the device ID and connect to a WiFi hotspot?

A: To change the device ID and connect to a WiFi hotspot, access the BMS04 web server page by typing setup. local in a browser.
Enter the desired settings in the Setup section, including WiFi SSID and password, device ID prefix and number, sending interval, and Web Server password. Press Update to confirm the changes.

Device Power Up

  • BMS04 will power up by applying a voltage between 8V ~ and 72 V because a device has a rectifier inside to allow no polarity issue of input voltage, therefore a user can connect power to the device with ease.
  • After powering up, BMS04 shows the logo and then displays the first information on LCD ( figure 1 ), the device will store the date and time before no power into the non-volatile memory.
  • The device then checks some hardware resources like the flash memory and SIM card installation ( figure 2 )
  • If both checks pass then the device will start running, first show the current firmware version ( as Figure 3 ) then start collecting data and display ( as Figure 4 )
  • SIM – X – > Sim installation fails
  • SIM – OK -> Sim installation OK
  • GPS – X - > Not yet locking GPS
  • GPS – OK - > Found GPS
  • RSSIX - > Not yet connected to APN
  • RSSI + Level -> how Signal Strength
  • No WiFi Mark -> Not connect to WiFi hotspot
  • WiFi Mark On -> Connect to WiFi hotspot

Web Server

  1. Finding a device in the mobile WiFi list
  2. Select the device to connect, ( maybe need to enter the password according to mobile, the default is 12345678 )
  3. Use any brower, type in “setup. local” and then click, mobile will enter the BMS04 web server page
  4. Users can set device information by clicking “Setup”, inside the “Setup” page can enter the WiFi hotspot SSID and password, rename the device ID Prefix and number, adjust sending interval and Web Server password etc, in this example, device ID will change to BMS-05, and the device will connect to APN ( need turn WiFi to On on front page ) with SSID Macdonald and password is abc123456.
  5. Press the “Update” button to confirm the data, and device restart to use the new setting to run
  6. Users can calibrate the device by clicking “Calibration”, inside “Calibration” page can calibrate the current sensor offset, voltage offset, and temperature offset, please unload any current loading on the current sensor and the device will get the zero offset, in this example, 1786 is the offset data, then enter the battery voltage measure by multimeter, in this example is 13.2V, and use thermometer of the surrounding temperature, is 28 degree Celsius, then press “Set” button to confirm entry, on next page, “Set” button will disappear and press “Next” button, entry data will show.
  7. Users can read device data by clicking “Reading”, inside the “Reading” page can view most of the device data as shown
