General Info

The cutting strip is used to support the bottom of the cuttable materials. When the blade pushes into the material the cutting strip keeps the material from pushing away from the blade. It is also used to protect the blade should it be set to deep the blade will cut into the surface of the cutting strip instead of breaking.

Compatibility

All of the AirMark cutting strips are made from the same material. The only difference between them is the length of the cutting strip.

Currently, AirMark offers 3 cutting strips.

Application Removal

The first thing you need to do is remove the old cutting strip. It is very important that you remove ALL of the old cutting strip.

1. Snag the edge of your old cutting strip

2. Peel back the cutting strip

If any debris is left behind it would act like a “speed bump” when you put down your new cutting strip (see pictures below).

Example: Light Debris

Example: Heavy Debris

You MUST clean out all the debris and make the channel smooth. To do this you will need some type of adhesive remover (we use Citra-Solv).

Example: Adhesive remover

3. Apply Adhesive remover to channel

4. Let the remover set to loosen debris

Caution be careful not use anything that will cut or mare the cutting strip channel. It must be smooth and free of scratches for the new strip to remain flat.

5. Scrape out debris and old adhesive
6. Wipe off all remaining adhesive remover.
7. Windex the surface of the cutting strip channel
8. Wipe off all remaining Windex.
9. Use compressed air to blow out the channel of all remaining liquids
10. Wipe channel again clean of any liquids exposed by the compressed air.

Example: 100% clean cutting strip channel

Warning : the strip is

3. Place the cutting strip up against the wall and gently press the exposed edge down into the channel.

Note : you will see a slight change in color where the new strip has been secured into the channel.

4. Slowly peel back more of the paper backing and continue to press the exposed strip down to secure it into the channel as you work from one side of the cutting strip to the end.
