IMPORTANT
Read these instructions carefully to become familiar with the device before
connecting it to the gas cylinder.
Keep these instructions for future reference.
Safety and Operating Conditions
- This household regulator is designed to supply gas to gas-consuming appliances at the pressure and capacity indicated on the identification label.
- It can be mounted on any cylinder equipped with a cylinder valve with a manually operated closure.
- This regulator is equipped with a manual flow limiter.
- The following mounting, operation, and usage instructions must be followed.
- Check that the gasket on the cylinder valve is in place and in good condition.
- Before mounting the regulator, ensure that the rubber gasket in the bottle valve or in the pressure regulator is in good condition.
- If the gasket or the gas valve is not in good condition, ask your gas supplier to replace it with another gasket.
- Ensure that the gas hose is in good condition and not older than 5 years.
- When installing the regulator, ensure that the cylinder valve and gas appliances are turned off.
- Under normal usage conditions, to ensure safe operation of the installation, it is necessary to replace the regulator every 10 years from the production date.
- For outdoor use. The device should be placed or protected against direct exposure to water and rain.
- Use gas cylinders in an upright position only.
- Never remove the regulator in the Gas ON position.
- Do not move the cylinder while it is in use.
- Do not fit or exchange gas cylinders in the presence of an open flame.
- Do not use tools to mount the pressure regulator on the gas bottle. Hand-tightening the nut is sufficient.
Installation steps
-
Perform a visual inspection of the regulator. Remove dirt or loose metal shavings.
-
Connect the hose to the outlet nozzle (fig 1) of the regulator (apply water to the hose to facilitate easier insertion).
-
Remove the seal or cap from the gas cylinder valve. Ensure there is no open combustion or flame in the immediate vicinity.
-
Hand-tighten the regulator nut onto the gas bottle valve.
(Note: this is a left-hand thread!) -
Open the valve of the gas bottle.
-
Press the pressure relief valve button on the regulator outlet to fill the hose with gas (Fig 1).
-
Conduct a leak test using the pressure gauge (See section 4). If gas-tight, the gas appliance can be started.
-
When replacing the gas bottle, close the valve of the gas bottle first before unscrewing the regulator.
Leak Test:
- Ensure the regulator is connected to the gas appliance via the gas hose.
- The gas valve of the appliance must be in the closed position.
- Confirm the regulator is securely attached to the gas bottle valve.
- Slowly open the gas bottle valve. The regulator and gas hose will fill with gas. Close the gas valve again.
- Check if the pointer of the manometer is in the green indicator zone. Wait for 2 minutes. If the pointer remains in the same position, the installation is gas-tight. (See section 4)
- If the gauge pointer is in the yellow or blue area, there may be a gas leak. (See section 4)
- Visually inspect the gas installation using a leak detection spray or soapy water to identify any leaks.
- Do not operate the gas appliance if there is a gas leak.
Leaks
- Do not use any device that leaks, is damaged, or does not function properly (defective).
- If you suspect a gas leak, apply soapy water to the connection points (the regulator should not be fully submerged in soapy water as it may compromise its safe operation). If there is a leak, you will see bubbles coming from the leakage point.
Function of the overflow limiter
- This regulator is equipped with a manual flow limiter
- It activates when:
- The gas appliance uses more gas than 110% of the nominal capacity of the regulator.
- The gas hose becomes disconnected.
- The gas hose becomes damaged or is accidentally cut.
- The flow limiter will shut off the gas supply.
- To reset, connect a hose to the regulator outlet and press the button to fill the gas hose with gas. Then, relight the gas appliance.
Manometer – low level indicator
The gas level can be observed while gas is flowing between the gas cylinder and the appliance.
