If your toothbrush makes a loud noise, the troubleshooting tips below may help you find a solution.
We recommend that you follow the steps in the order listed below. In between steps, check to see if the issue is resolved before moving to the next.

  1. Getting used to an electric toothbrush.
    Sonicare toothbrushes use powerful vibrations to clean your teeth. The sound produced islouder than a manual toothbrush. If this is your first electric toothbrush, it can take a whileto get used to electric brushing.

  2. Place a brush head on your toothbrush.
    If you turn on your toothbrush without a brush head, it will make more noise. Always ensurethat a brush head is attached to your toothbrush.

  3. Place the brush head correctly
    If your toothbrush makes an abnormally loud noise, this might be due to a loose brush head. Ensure that the brush head is firmly placed on the handle and not loose. A small gap will remain between the handle and brush head as needed for vibration.

  4. Replace the brush head.
    It could also mean that your brush head is worn. We recommend replacing your brush head every three months. You can purchase a new brush head in our online store.

  5. Identify where the noise is coming from.
    Try the following steps: Step 1: Remove the brush head from the handle. Step 2: Turn your toothbrush on.

  2. Fully charge the battery.
    A toothbrush battery that is not fully charged might need more power to make the toothbrush vibrate. We recommend charging it for at least 24 hours. You can always leave your toothbrush on the charger to avoid this from happening again. If you have not used your toothbrush for a month or more, your battery may have run out. Place the handle on the charger. The battery is charging, but it might take a few minutes for the battery indicator to light up. We recommend that you charge your toothbrush for at least 24 hours.

  3. Use a different power source.
    Try using a different plug socket to charge your toothbrush fully. A faulty power source connected to your charger may cause your toothbrush not to charge. In some countries, the plug socket in the bathroom has a safety feature that shuts off the power source. Make sure that your plug socket has power before charging your toothbrush.

  4. Check the battery light indicator.
    If your toothbrush powers on and the battery light indicators are lit, but there is no vibration, your toothbrush has internal damage. We recommend that you request an online repair or exchange.

My brush head falls off my Sonicare toothbrush
If your brush head falls off your toothbrush handle, ensure that the brush head is attached correctly. Attach the brush head with the bristles in the same direction as the buttons. A small gap will remain between the handle and brush head as needed for vibration.

  3. Activate Bluetooth on your mobile device.
  4. Hold your toothbrush and mobile device close together.
  5. Remove your toothbrush from the charger or push the mode button to activate the LED symbols on the handle.
  6. Open the Sonicare app

If your toothbrush does not connect when you open the app, unpair/forget your toothbrush in your phone’s Bluetooth settings. Restart the Sonicare app to re- pair your device. Clearing the Bluetooth cache on your mobile device may also resolve connectivity issues.

If your toothbrush is vibrating less powerfully than before, the troubleshooting tips below may help you find a solution. We recommend that you follow the steps in the order listed below. In between steps, check to see if the issue is resolved before moving to the next.

  1. Fully charge the battery.
    A toothbrush without a fully charged battery may need more power to vibrate at its original strength. We recommend charging it overnight for at least 24 hours. The chargers for all Sonicare toothbrushes are different and not compatible with other Sonicare models. We recommend charging the toothbrush by using the original charger that came with your toothbrush.

  2. Deactivate EasyStart.
    Some toothbrushes have the EasyStart feature activated by default. This feature causes your toothbrush to increase its vibration level slowly after each brushing session. The increase in vibration will occur over the first fourteen sessions. If you want your toothbrush to vibrate normally, we recommend turning off the EasyStart feature.

  3. Replace the brush head.
    It could also mean that your brush head is worn. We recommend replacing your brush head every three months. You can purchase a new brush head in our online shop. If you have recently replaced your brush head, move to the next step.

  4. Change the brushing mode.
    The mode selected impacts the vibration level on your toothbrush. Some brushing modes are less powerful, for example, TongueCare and Sensitive. We recommend increasing the vibration by changing the brushing mode. Turn off your toothbrush and press the mode/intensity button to choose the preferred mode.

  5. Change the intensity setting.
    Some toothbrush models come with an intensity setting. Please consult the user manual to see if your toothbrush comes with the intensity setting. The intensity setting selected can impact the vibration level of your toothbrush. You can choose between different intensity levels. Your toothbrush will automatically select the intensity level based on the brush head that you attach. While brushing, you can change the intensity by pressing the mode/intensity button. Adjusting the intensity is not possible when the handle is turned off

  1. Use the correct charger.
    The chargers for all Sonicare toothbrushes are different and not compatible with other Sonicare models. We recommend charging the toothbrush by using the original charger that came with your toothbrush.

  2. Use a different power source.
    Does your toothbrush not charge when it is plugged in? Your plug socket might not work. Try using a different plug socket to charge it.

  3. Check if your charging adapter or cord is damaged.
    Try checking if your charging adapter or cord is damaged. If you notice any damage to your adapter or cord, stop using it immediately. Purchase a replacement in our online store.

  4. Place the toothbrush correctly on the charger.
    If you use a charging stand, pad or glass, ensure that your toothbrush is placed centrally on the charger. The toothbrush will release two short beeps or the battery light indicator will light up, confirming that the toothbrush is placed on the charger correctly. Ensure that the charger is not placed on a metal surface or near other chargers, as this may cause interference while charging.
