Product Usage Instructions

Installation of Cable Entry Port (CEP)

Fill in the glue line with appropriate waterproof silicone or sealant for your roofing material.

The Rapid Shutdown Disconnect Switch (RSD) and Cable Entry Port (CEP) allow users to quickly shut down solar power at the source, without the hassle of climbing on the roof of an RV or any other inconvenient location that has solar power installed. The prewired design decreases the amount of labor needed for installation.

INSTALLATION

CEP Installation:
We recommend measuring and marking your location first, taking the prewire leads into consideration when finalizing the location. When installing the CEP, you will need to drill a ½ inch hole for RSD lead and a ¾ inch hole for Charger Controller PV leads going into the RV. The drilled holes will need to be spaced ½ inch from each other (shown below).

Next you will need to fill in the glue line with appropriate waterproof silicone or sealant for your roofing material. See below for red glue lines. After applying silicone or sealant, you will need to feed the leads into the drilled holes and set the CEP in desired location.
Once the CEP is set in the desired location, it will need to be permanently mounted using the 4 mounting tabs shown below with the appropriate fasteners for your roofing material.

RSD Installation

There are two options when installing the Rapid Shutdown Disconnect Switch. You can mount behind the switch (usually the screws will not show on the mounting surface) or through the front of the switch. Depending on the thickness of the mounting surface, Option 1 gives you more flexibility for a flush installation.

Option 1
The RSD will be mounted from behind the wall and behind the switch, with the face and button protruding through the cutout. The cutout dimensions are shown in the following diagrams, and mounting screws shown in RED.

Mounting screws are not included and will need to be sourced for your appropriate mounting material

Option 2
The RSD will be mounted on the front of a wall or mounting surface. The cutout dimensions are shown below, and mounting screws shown in GREEN.
