CAUTION AND WARNING
To prevent injury and damage to your product, please follow these instructions very carefully.
- Do not transport the WMROD while headpiece or height rod is extended.
- Ensure the WM ROD is secured on a flat, stable wall surface.
- Ensure that the WMROD is secured for cleaning or for reassembly.
- For accurate measurement, the WMROD must be placed on a stable wall surface.
- For accurate measurement, verify proper operation according to the procedure described in the manual before each use.
- Do not use in the presence of flammable materials.
- When not in use, ensure headpiece is at its lowest position, and is folded down against the height rod.
- When wall mounting the WMROD, ensure that the mounting location is free of electrical lines, gas pipes, and other safety hazards. Ensure that wall is of construction that can support the WM ROD.
- Do not mount WMROD on a door.

General
The WMROD Wall Mounted Height Rod Kit has a metal height rod with improved strength and durability. Each WMROD features a telescoping – style design that provides accurate, reliable, and repeatable height measurements, and includes features that make the process of measuring a patient’s height simple, fast, and convenient. Each WMROD is set up to determine the height of a stationary patient. Height is displayed in inches (in) and centimeters (cm).

The WMROD Wall Mounted Height Rod Kit is shipped assembled in one carton. Carefully inspect the carton for shipping damage before unpacking. If damage is found, contact Customer Service immediately.

WMROD WALL MOUNT INSTRUCTIONS
To avoid damaging the WMROD when unpacking it, do not use a box cutter, knife, scissors or any sharp object when opening the protective inner packaging. If damage is found, contact your shipper or a Health o meter® Professional representative immediately at 1-800- 815-6615. Claims must be filed with the shipper as soon as possible after receipt of the package. The following information details what you will find inside the carton as you unpack the parts for assembly. Set the carton aside, for storage.

Drill, 5/64″(1.90mm) or 17/64″(6.50mm) drill bit, Tape measure, Phillips head screwdriver, Flat head screwdriver, Hammer, 4′ (125cm) bubble level.
Wall Mounting Instructions (Refer to Figure 2 – 3)
Caution: When wall mounting the WMROD, ensure that the mounting location is free of electrical lines, gas pipes, and other safety hazards. Ensure that wall is of construction that can support the WMROD.
Note: Do not mount WMROD on a door.
Mounting on Plasterboard or Drywall (Refer to Figures 2 – 3)
Note: For hollow, drywall construction use 17/64″(6.S0mm) drill bit and plastic anchors.

Carefully remove the product from the carton and place on a flat and dry surface.

Determine the location of where the height rod will be mounted.
Note: Ensure mounting area is clear of baseboard, carpeting materials, and any other obstructions. -
Use the 17/64″(6.S0mm) drill bit to drill two holes. The first hole must be positioned 6 3/16″ (15.5cm) up from the floor.

The second hole must be centered directly above the first hole, and drilled 44 7/8″ (114cm) up from the floor (see Figure 2). Use a level to position the screw hole.

Insert the plastic anchors into the hole. Using the two #4 round head screws, attach the wall mounting brackets to the wall (see Figures 2 & 3).

Screw the Hex screws into the top and bottom wall mounting brackets. Leave the Hex screw head extended at least¼” (7mm) for mountingr the height rod.

Slip the height rod’s key-hole mounts over the Hex screws, and ensure that the mount is secured over the Hex screw (see Figure 3 ).

Use the small end of the wrench to tighten the screws until the height rod is held firmly in place.

Installation is now complete and ready for use.

Note: Do not mount WMROD on a door.
Mounting on Wood, Wood studs, or Metal (Refer to Figures 2 – 3)
Note: For wood, wood studs, or metal walls use 5/64″ bit only

Carefully remove the product from the carton and place on a flat and dry surface.

Determine the location of where the height rod will be mounted.
Note: Ensure mounting area is clear of baseboard, carpeting materials, and any other obstructions. -
Use the 5/64″(1.90mm) drill bit to drill two holes. The first hole must be positioned 6 3/16″ (15.5cm) up from the floor.

The second hole must be centered directly above the first hole, and drilled 44 7/8″ (114cm) up from the floor (see Figure 2). Use a level to position the screw hole.

Insert the plastic anchors if necessary. Using the two #4 round head screws, attach the wall mounting brackets to the wall (see Figures 2 & 3).

Screw the Hex screws into the top and bottom wall mounting brackets. Leave the Hex screw head extended at least¼” (0.7cm) for mounting the height rod.

Slip the height rod’s key-hole mounts over the Hex screws, and ensure that the mount is secured over the Hex screw (see Figure 3).

Use the small end of the wrench to tighten the screws until the height rod is held firmly in place.

Installation is now complete and ready for use.
IHEIGHT MEASUREMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Height Measurements (Refer to figures 4-7)
Note: A patient needs to be a minimum of 600mm (23-5/8″) in height for the height to be accurately measured.
- Raise the headpiece above the patient’s head.
- Position the patient against the WMROD.
- Ensure that the patient’s posture is upright, and that the patient’s head is straight and level.
- Push the headpiece down until it rests on the patient’s head, and tighten the black knob.
- Determine the patient’s height by reading the value on the measuring strip nearest to the line on the indicator. The indicator is located on the center top of the height rod.
MAINTENANCE
Maintenance
The following pages provide instructions for maintenance and cleaning for the
WMROD product.
Maintenance operations other than those described in this manual should be
performed by qualified service personnel.
Caution: Before first use, or after long periods of non-use, check the product for proper operation and function. If the product does not operate correctly, refer to qualified service personnel.
- Check overall appearance of the total product for any obvious damage, wear, and tear.
Cleaning
Proper care and cleaning is essential to ensure a long life of accurate and effective operation.
- Clean all external surfaces with a clean damp cloth or tissue. Mild antimicrobial or antibacterial soap and water solution may be used. Dry with a clean soft cloth.
- Do not use Isopropyl Alcohol or other solutions to clean the height rod.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners.
WARRANTY
Limited Warranty
What does the Warranty Cover?
Health o meter® Professional product are warranted from date of purchase against defects of materials or in workmanship for a period of one (1) years. If product fails to function properly, return the product, freight prepaid and properly packed to Pelstar, LLC (see ”To Get Warranty Service”, below, for Instructions). If the manufacturer determines that a defect of material or In workmanship exists, the customer’s sole remedy will be repair or replacement or the product at no charge. Replacement will be made with a new or remanufactured product or component. If the product is no longer available, replacement may be made with a similar product of equal or greater value. All parts including repaired and replaced parts are covered only for the original warranty period.
Who is Covered?
The original purchaser of the product must have proof of purchase to receive warranty service. Please save your invoice or receipt. Pelstar dealers or retail stores selling Pelstar products do not have the right to alter, or modify or any way change the terms and conditions of this warranty.
What is Excluded?
Your warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from
any of the following:
negligent use or misuse of the product, use on improper voltage or current,
use contrary to the operating instructions, abuse including tampering, damage
in transit, or unauthorized repair or alternations. Further, the warranty does
not cover natural disasters, such as fire, flood, hurricanes and tornadoes.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other
rights that vary from country to country, state to state, province to province
or jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
To get Warranty Service make sure you keep your sales receipt or document showing proof of purchase. Call (+1) 800-638-3722 or (+1) 708-377-0600 to receive a return authorization (RA) number, which must be included on the return label. Attach your proof of purchase to your defective product along with your name, address, daytime telephone number and description of the problem. Carefully package the product and send with shipping and insurance prepaid to:
