Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure your sewing machine is in good running order and has a zig-zag stitching foot attached.
  2. Prepare a hot glue gun for finishing touches.
  3. Have a rotary cutter, small iron, and ironing pad ready for use (optional but recommended).
  4. Keep a seam ripper handy for corrections.
  5. Select a novelty button that complements the fabric used for the bottom or bowl of the basket.
  6. To prevent tangling, roll the clothesline into a ball before starting the project.

Make a multi-use trinket tray from rope to hold keys, jewelry, coins, wrapped candies, sewing notions and so much more.

Supplies:

  • 3/16” cotton clothesline (CTH#560493)
  • Plastic Template (CTH#3119) for 5” circle cuts
  • Fabric for the bottom of the bowl (measuring at least 5”)
  • ¼ yard coordinating fabric to wrap rope (use one or more colors if desired)
  • ¼ yard Heat n Bond Lite (CTH#3521) or Steam-a-seam Lite 2 (CTH#5440)
  • Pins and Wonder Clips (CTH#5608114)
  • Scissors (small and large)
  • Jeans/Denim Needle (CTH#402058)
  • Fabric glue stick or all-purpose glue
  • Thread that matches rope (and thread to match fabric, optional)

Also, bring the following:

  • Sewing machine in good running order
  • Sewing foot for zig-zag stitching
  • Hot glue gun for finishing
  • Rotary cutter
  • Small iron and ironing pad (optional but nice to have)
  • Seam ripper
  • Novelty button that coordinates with fabric in the bottom or bowl
