HOW TO USE

1. Insert the AC plug into the nearest, easily accessible 120-volt outlet.
2. Gently and firmly insert a pencil into the pencil opening which adjusts and centers the pencil automatically. The motor will start and the entry ring will light up white.
3. When the correct pencil point is achieved, the cutter system will stop cutting, the motor will stop and the entry ring will change from white to blue.
4. Remove the pencil.
5. Once the LED goes off, the sharpener is ready for another pencil. This patented system prevents over-sharpening of the pencil and allows for a perfect and safe point-size pencil tip.

MAINTENANCE & SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

To ensure smooth, safe, and trouble-free sharpening please:

1. Crayons, Chalk, Wax Pencils, and other non-wood pencils will clog the sharpener cutters. Do not use this machine to sharpen non-wood pencils and writing instruments.
2. Make sure the shaving receptacle is correctly in place and tightly closed before operating your sharpener.
3. Empty the receptacle regularly. Note: The pencil sharpener will not operate properly when the receptacle is full.
4. Always unplug the sharpener before cleaning or emptying the receptacle.
5. Do not force, shove, or jam pencils into the sharpener as too much pressure causes the motor to stall/jam. Should this happen, simply reduce the pressure until the motor operates normally.
6. If the Auto-Reset’™ shuts off the motor, allow the sharpener to cool for approximately 20-30 minutes before resuming operations.
7. Never submerge the sharpener in water.
8.  Never pull or yank the cord to turn off the sharpener. Instead, take hold of the plug and pull it slowly out of the electric outlet.
9. As with all electrical appliances, keep out of reach of small children.

TO CLEAR THE CLUTTER:
If shavings are allowed to become clogged around the cutters, poor sharpener performance and off-center sharpening could result. To remedy this situation: First, unplug your sharpener and remove and empty the receptacle. Next, using a pencil clear any shavings obstructing the discharge chute and surrounding the cutters. Caution: Cutters are sharp so avoid touching them. Do not apply grease or abrasive cleaners.

HOW IT WORKS

When the correct pencil point is achieved, the cutter system will stop rotating/cutting, the motor will stop, and an LED will light up. Once the LED goes off, the sharpener is ready for another pencil. This patented system prevents over-sharpening of the pencil and allows for a perfect and safe point-size pencil tip.
