CONTROLS AND connections
HOW TO USE THE 8X^ AMPLIFIER
- To get started, connect the power cable to the 8AUDIO 8XA amplifier and plug it into your mains power supply. Next, you need to connect your speakers to the amplifier. You can use a standard speaker cable, which should be cut to size. One length of cable is required for each speaker (left and right). Connect the cable to the speaker terminals and secure it by tightening the terminals. Then, connect the opposite end of the cable to your speakers.
- Once the speakers are connected and secure, you can power on the 8XA device by pressing the power switch. However, make sure that the volume knob is turned down low to prevent any loud signal upon initial connection. You can turn up the volume later as per your requirement.
- After powering on the device, you can choose your input selection by pressing the ‘INPUT’ button. This will cycle through the input options on the 8XA amplifier. The LED will indicate which source you currently have selected.
Bluetooth (default option)
- To play music wirelessly on the 8AUDIO 8XA, you need a Bluetooth-enabled device such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer.
- The Bluetooth input is active by default. However, if you have multiple inputs connected to the 8XA, select the Bluetooth input by pressing the
- ‘INPUT’ button until the corresponding Bluetooth Input LED is illuminated.
- Before connecting your device, make sure that no other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone, tablet or computer. If any device is
- connected, disconnect or switch it off. Search for available Bluetooth devices on your chosen device. Select the SAUDIO 8XA from the available
- devices and it will automatically pair to your device. You can also disconnect from the 8XA via the Bluetooth device menus on your device.
- The 8XA will appear as connected in the Bluetooth device menu of your device when set-up is complete. You can now play music on your device,
- and it will be wirelessly transmitted to the 8XA.
Note: you should ensure that the volume control of your device is not muted or too low to hear. You can control the volume on your device and the 8XA, so adjust the volume to your personal preference.
AUX-IN
- You can connect any line-level audio device to the 8XA. This could be a CD Player or the headphone output of any audio device, such as a personal
- music player, phone or even a television. The Aux input can only be selected when a device is connected. Use the input selection to cycle to the
- AUX input. The LED indicator will be illuminated when a connection is present, and the input is selected.
- Connect the AUX cable to your source device. There’s a choice of two cables included, so select the appropriate cable for your music source and
- connect the 3.5mm jack to the AUX input on the rear of the 8XA amplifier.
- You can then simply play music on your device and control the volume on the 8XA directly.
PC or Mac USB
- You can play music directly from your PC or Mac via USB. Connect your PC or Mac to the 8XA with the included USB cable. Navigate your sound/output menus on your PC or Mac and select the 8XA as
- the output device. Now, when you play music on your chosen program on your PC or Mac, the signal will play via the 8XA. You can control the
- volume on your PC or Mac application and on the 8XA, so just adjust the volume to your taste and requirements.
USB HDD
The USB-A port also supports playback from compatible USB memory sticks or HDD
devices. The device needs to be formatted to FAT32/exFAT with a single
partition, and a maximum size of 1TB. The 8XA will playback files in the
format of MP3, WMA, FLAC, APE, WAV with a sample rate of 8-48KHz. Simply
connect your USB device directly to the 8XA. The 8XA will read your files,
this could take a few seconds depending on the size of your HDD device. You
can use the volume control knob to increase or decrease the volume. Press the
volume control to start/stop playing. To skip between tracks, hold the volume
control for 2 seconds and rotate forwards or backwards to skip to the next or
previous track. Press the volume control once more to resume playback.
Note : the input switch will only offer the AUX or USB input options if
an AUX/USB cable is inserted. Otherwise, Bluetooth will be the default input
option.\

TROUBLESHOOTING
-
What type of speakers can I use?
The 8Audio 8XA is compatible with any passive speaker that accepts speaker cable or uses bare-wire terminals. -
My speakers need to be further apart, can I use more cable?
Yes! Any standard speaker cable will work with the 8XA. (Sold separately) -
My sources are too far away, can I use a longer cable?
Yes! Longer cables can be used (sold separately). Just make sure you match the connections of the supplied cables and your devices. -
Is any indication to confirm that Bluetooth is connected?
Yes! There will be a sound when the unit connects connected to a Bluetooth device. The LED indicator will illuminate and you will be able to see the 8XA is ‘connected’ in your smart device’s menu (Your phone, tablet or computer for example) -
There is no sound, what can I do?
- Make sure the 8XA is powered on and that the speakers are connected correctly.
- Make sure the correct input is selected by making sure the LED indicator matches the input connections and source being used.
- Make sure the volume control of the 8XA is not at the minimum. Slowly turn the volume up on the 8XA, if it is too low.
- Make sure the source device is not muted, gently and slowly turn the volume up on your device to check in case of a low-level signal from your source.
- In the case of Bluetooth device playback, please make sure the 8XA is showing as ‘connected’ in your device’s menu. If not, follow the steps in the manual to assist with the connection. Usually, another device is connected or the 8XA is already connected to another smartphone or tablet; simply disconnect and follow the connection steps again.
- In the case of Bluetooth / PC / Mac USB connection; make sure the volume is not muted or too low in your playback app.
- In the case of Aux input; check that you are connecting from the Aux or Line output of your hi-fi separatres and check the output signal or volume is not muted or too low.
- In the case of 3.5mm Aux input from personal music players, headphone outputs etc; make sure the volume control is not muted or too low.
- In the case of PC or Mac USB connection; check that no other audio device or sound card is currently active, in your sound preferences. Make sure the 8XA is selected as the output device and make sure that your volume is not muted or too low, on your computer.
- In the case of USB HDD; check that your device and file formats meet the requirements as outlined in the manual and specifications. The 8XA cannot play incompatible files, so try skipping forwards through your files in case one file is not compatible.
The sound is distorted
- The 8XA is designed to high-quality, hi-fi standards and has been subject to in-depth hi-fi testing standards. Any distortion or bad sound is likely to be down to the source or the source material.
- The sound can distort if the input level is too high, so try to reduce the volume of the input (i.e. turn down the volume on your phone or headphone output of any connected device).
- Try to avoid using the 8XA at maximum volume, if the input source is also maximum volume. The limits of digital signals mean the waveforms will become distorted and you risk overdriving your speakers. You’ll know if this is
- happening if it sounds very bad at loud volumes. If this is the case, turn everything down a little and enjoy the sound quality at a more reasonable volume.
