OFFICER’S GENERAL PURPOSE MECHANICAL
Marathon General Purpose Field watches are built to strict military standard, MILPRF-46374G, with direct lineage to the legendary GG-W-113 Spec of the 1960s. These straightforward timepieces are designed for officers and infantry, purposefully engineered to handle the demands of ground operations.
Commonly known as the Officer’s Field Watch Mechanical (OFM) or Stainless Steel General Purpose Mechanical (GPM-SS). This Swiss-made field watch further harkens the past with a hand-wind 18 jewel SW210-1 mechanical movement.

TRITIUM GAS TUBES
The SSGPM uses self-contained tritium gas tubes to ensure constant visibility in low light situations. A gas tube is placed on each hour marker and hand. These tubes are self-illuminating and contain an isotope of hydrogen, that will not dull down over time.
CONSTANT ILLUMINATION
316L STAINLESS STEEL
The SSGPM features a 316L stainless steel case, making the watch strong and durable. The case finish is Parkerized, reducing reflectivity.

GENERAL OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE
1. Clean watch often.
Clean regularly using rubbing alcohol, a toothbrush and a microfibre cloth.
2. Service regularly.
Regular servicing every four to six years will help to keep your movement
running with Marathon-level precision. For servicing requests, contact our
team directly at
customerservice@marathonwatch.com
3. Always remove your watch before adjusting.
Adjusting the crown while it’s on your wrist may add tension to the mechanism
of your watch, potentially affecting the watch’s longevity and functionality.
4. Securing water and dust resistance.
To ensure water and dust resistance, gently push the crown of the watch back
in until it is fully seated against the case, ensuring a tight seal.
SETTING THE TIME
- Pull the crown from position 1 to position 2.
- Turn the crown either clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the time.
SECURING THE CROWN
From position 2, push the crown into position 1 to ensure optimal water and dust resistance.
WINDING THE WATCH
From position 1, rotate the crown clockwise until you feel resistance, indicating the watch is fully wound.
CAUTION: Wind the watch gently, avoiding rapid movements to prevent damage to the internal gears. Do not overwind the watch. If resistance is encountered, refrain from forcing the crown further.
