Product Information
- Skill Level : Advanced Beginner
- Fee : $30 (price includes the binding instruction card)
Book/Pattern : Ultimate Binding and Edge-Finishing Guide for Quilting and Sewing Book is not required; however, we will be discussing several other techniques from this book in class. If you choose to purchase it, your 15% discount will apply.
Fabric:
- 2 sets of Fabric Squares (muslin is fine) approximately 16-20″ square layered with batting and quilted (simple free motion or straight stitching is fine).
- 1 set of strips cut 2 ¼″ wide and totaling approximately 75-90″ (depending on how large your fabric squares are) Do not stitch these strips together.
- Extra fabric (about ¼ yd) to cut additional binding strips for a second technique of your choice. Do not cut as the width will vary depending on the technique you chose. This is optional.

- Labels
Tools and Supplies:
- Rotary Cutter and rulers
- Basic Sewing supplies, thread, straight pins, scissors, etc.
- Sewing machine in good working order, with all of its parts including power cord and foot pedal. Also have a ¼″ foot and a walking foot, if you have one. You should be familiar with the use of your machine before class. Put in a new needle and have a full bobbin ready.
Class Confirmation & Policies
You are not considered registered for a class until the fee is paid. The class fee does not include supplies/materials unless noted. Due to copyright laws, each student in class must purchase their own copy of the book or pattern used. We hate to cancel a class, but do reserve the right to do so, should the minimum enrollment not be met. If this happens, a full refund will be given. Weather related delays or cancellations are handled on an individual basis.
If you are not able to make a class that you have signed up for you must notify us one week prior to the class at which time a store credit will be issued. If we have less than one week’s notice, a credit will be given only if the slot can be filled from the waiting list. Be familiar with your sewing machine. You need to know how to thread it, how to wind and load a bobbin, and generally how your machine works. Be sure your machine is in good working order. Remember the foot pedal and power cord! Brush out the dust bunnies from the bobbin case and insert a new needle.
