Product Usage Instructions

Setting Up the Scale Ensure the scale is placed horizontally on a flat surface.

Weighing Items

1. Turning On: Press the ON/OFF/TARE key. Wait for “8888” to display and then zero. Place the item to be weighed on the scale.
2. Net Weighing (TARE): Place an empty container on the scale and press TARE until zero appears. Add the item to be weighed; only the additional weight will be shown.

Changing Weight Units To switch between weight units (g, lb/oz, oz, ml), turn off the scale and press the Unit button when turning it on. Press the key again to change the unit.

Turning Off the Scale To switch off the scale, press and hold the ON/OFF/TARE key until the display disappears. The scale will automatically turn off after about 1 minute of inactivity.

FAQ

Q: What should I do if the display shows “Overload”? A: Remove the excess weight from the scale and ensure it returns to zero.

Q: How do I know when to change the batteries? A: If the “battery symbol” appears on the display, it indicates that the batteries need to be replaced.

Q: Can I use this scale for trade purposes? A: No, this scale is not legal for trade use.

Operating Instructions

Battery

• One CR2032 battery is included. The battery compartment is on the base of the scales. Please note the polarity marking.
• Before using the scales remove the plastic protection. Positioning the scales
• Please ensure that the scales are in a horizontal position.

Weighing (ON)

• After switching on the scales with the „ON/OFF/TARE“ key, „8888“ appears on the display. Please wait until zero appears.
• Then place the weight onto the scales and read off the weight.

Net weighing (TARE)

• Place an empty container (i.e. first weight) onto the scales and then subtract this weight by pressing the key until zero appears.
• Fill the container (i.e. add a second weight to the scales). Only the additional weight is indicated in the display.

Switch off (OFF)

• Press the key „ON/OFF/TARE“ until the display disappears.
• Automatic switch-off will occur after approx. 1 minute, if no change of weight occurs in this time.
• Switching the weight units g, lb/oz, oz or ml
• The scales can show the weight value in g, lb/oz, oz, or ml.
• The scales should be switched off. Press the „Unit” button when the scale is turned on. Press the key again to change the weighing unit.

User calibration

• If needed, the scales can be recalibrated by the user.
• Switch the scales on and set the measurement to „g”. Press the key „ON/OFF/TARE” rapidly four times in a row and hold. A number appears with or without a sign. Press the „ON/OFF/TARE” key again. „ZERO” appears, followed by „5000”.
• Now place a 5kg calibrated weight on the scales and press the „ON/OFF/TARE” key. „CAL” first appears on the display, then „PASS” and finally „5000g”.
• The scales have been recalibrated. Important: the scales must not be exposed to any vibration or draft during the calibration.

Explanation of the special symbols

Switching on

After pressing the „ON/OFF/TARE“- key all symbols appear. You can check whether all segments are clearly shown on the display. Zero indicates that the scales are ready for operation.

Negative value

Press the „ON/OFF/TARE“- key once again.

Overload

• Weight exceeds the total weighing capacity of scales.
• Remove weight from scales and switch back to zero.

Energy Supply

• If appears on the display, the batteries need to be changed.
• This device corresponds to the requirements stipulated in the EC-directives 90 / 384 / EEC.
• Note: Extreme electromagnetic influences e.g. radio units in the immediate vicinity may affect the displayed values.
• Once the interference has stopped, the product can once again be used normally. The scales are not legal for trade.
