Check for Wi-Fi availability
The camera requires a stable and sufficiently strong Wi-Fi connection. Select the location where you wish to set up your outdoor camera and use your mobile device to check the strength of your home network’s Wi-Fi signal. The table will tell you whether the signal strength is sufficient.

Mounting the Eyes Outdoor Camera II

  • The standards and directives applicable in your country must be observed during planning, set-up, operation, and maintenance.
  • The device is part of the building installation. Operation of the device is only permitted at 230 V/50 Hz AC voltage. Work on the 230 V network may only be carried out by an electrician. The applicable accident prevention regulations must be observed here. To avoid an electric shock on the device, please switch off the main power. Failure to observe the installation instructions may result in fire or other hazards.
  • Mounting must be carried out following the applicable requirements. Failure to observe the requirements may result in damage to property and/or injury or even danger of death.
  • Please also note any additional information on the product.
  • The camera requires a power supply of 230 volts of alternating current via a three-core cable (live, neutral, earth).
  • When connecting the device terminals, ensure that permitted wires and wire cross-sections are used.
  • The camera should be mounted on the wall at a height of 2.0 to 2.5 m above the floor.
  • The camera should be aligned with the primary area it is intended to monitor.
  • The camera must be affixed with the lens pointing downwards.
  • The power circuit to which the device and the load are connected must be secured with a circuit breaker under EN 60898-1 (trigger characteristics B or C, max. 16 A rated current, min. 6 kA breaking capacity, energy limitation class 3). Installation guidelines acc. to VDE 0100 HD384 or IEC 60364 must be observed. The circuit breaker must be easily accessible for the user and labeled as a disconnector for the device.
  • When selecting the mounting location and when drilling, pay attention to the areas where electrical wires run, or to any supply cables.
  • The device may only be used for stationary installations and must be fastened securely within a fixed installation.
  • Use suitable ladders or steps with appropriate safety approval for mounting.
  • Before you start: Be sure to shut off the power circuit breaker!

Mounting the mounting plate
Position the mounting plate (10) at the desired location, pull the three wires of the power cord through the cable feed aperture (13), and mark the four holes. Remove the mounting plate and drill the four marked holes. Insert dowels suited to the wall structure and then tightly screw the mounting plate to the wall using appropriate screws. Connect the power cable wires to the relevant connections in the terminal block (11).

Attaching and activating the camera

Place the camera on the mounting plate. Then secure the camera with the locking screw (9). For this purpose, use an appropriate cross-slot screwdriver. Now turn on the power supply again. The camera starts up. When ready for the next installation step, the status LED (4) flashes green.

  • Download the “Bosch Smart Camera” app from your app store. You require this for the entire installation and configuration process.
  • Start the app and log in, or register if you do not have a Bosch account yet.
  • Please do not minimize or close the app during start-up.

Status LED| Error|

Measures

---|---|---
LED flashes red| General error when switching on| Disconnect the camera power supply for at least 30 seconds.
LED alternately flashes red and green| The camera failed to connect to the home router’s Wi-Fi| Check the Wi-Fi strength of the home router (see point “Checking for Wi-Fi availability”). On your router, check whether DHCP is active and the connection of new devices is permitted (MAC addresses filter off). Go one step back in the app. If this error occurs during operation with a camera that worked perfectly before, please check that your router is working properly.
LED alternately flashes red and blue| Failed to connect to the Bosch Cloud server| Check your DSL router’s internet connection and the bandwidth of your internet connection. If necessary, switch off the power of the camera (fuse/light switch) and then switch back on after 30 seconds for the camera to restart. If the above steps have not helped, reset the camera to factory settings. (see FAQs)
