DALI 2 is the latest version of the DALI standard and offers improved compatibility and extended functionality compared to its predecessor
Introduction
This includes higher flexibility, energy efficiency and improved user convenience when controlling lighting systems. JUNG provides the appropriate electrical installation for the operation of DALI 2. DALI uses a digital control approach whereby the communication between devices takes place with a special bus system (a two-wire cable). In this way, it is possible for every luminaire or lighting group to be controlled individually and to adapt the lighting to the individual requirements.
DALI 2 is a worldwide standard supported by many countries and organisations. This allows a higher level of compatibility and interoperability between different products and systems. Whereas with DALI the functionality and interoperability between devices was often limited, DALI 2 makes combining devices from different manufacturers easier. Furthermore, DALI 2 is backwards compatible with DALI. This makes a migration to the new version easier.

Using Instructions
JUNG offers the right solution for every control unit. From electronic DALI 2 rotary controllers to integration into different smart-home systems: with a coordinated selection of system inserts and centre plates, JUNG also handles the control of DALI 2.
Manually in no time: rotary controllers with and without DALI power supply
With the single-channel JUNG DALI rotary controller TW system insert, users can control luminaires with DALI 2 interface as well as DALI 2 ballasts, including Tunable White. The operation is carried out via the JUNG centre plate with knob. The Power DALI rotary controller TW additionally supplies up to 28 DALI devices with voltage. Both flush-mounted inserts are suitable for installation in standard wall boxes manufactured to DIN 49073.
Smart at the press of a button: power DALI push-button controller TW
The JUNG power DALI controller TW is suitable for manual operation of luminaires with a DALI interface. Operation follows the usual principles. In addition, users can set the colour temperature (Tunable White). Numerous solutions from JUNG are suitable as centre plates. A simple push-button from the familiar LB Management is sufficient for manual operation. If it needs to be smart, a push-button with 2-gang assignment from the new smart home system, JUNG HOME, is sufficient. But even a motion detector for control according to light or motion, or integration into a KNX system with a JUNG KNX RF push- button is no problem. If beyond that an owner wants even more convenience, or it concerns a large system, they can choose the JUNG KNX DALI gateway TW. It controls up to 64 DALI devices in up to 32 groups. In addition, the gateway allows the colour temperature to be set for luminaires with DALI Device Type 8 for Tunable White in accordance with IEC 62386-209.
Smart lighting saves energy
DALI 2 is used in individual homes and apartments to control the lighting and save energy. For example, DALI 2 compatible LED luminaires can be installed in living areas to adapt the lighting to the needs of the residents. The precise control of the lighting means that unnecessary energy consumption can be avoided.
- Dimming: one of the main functions of DALI 2 is the stepless dimming of LED luminaires. Adapting the brightness to the actual requirements of the users avoids unnecessary energy consumption.
- Presence and motion detection: DALI 2 supports presence and motion detection so that the lighting switches on and off automatically when people move in a room or leave it. In this way, DALI 2 ensures that the light is only on when it is needed.
