READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS! SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS AND DELIVER TO OWNER AFTER INSTALLATION

  • To reduce the risk of death, personal injury or property damage from fire, electric shock, falling parts, cuts/abrasions, and other hazards please read all warnings and instructions included with and on the fixture box and all fixture labels.
  • Before installing, servicing, or performing routine maintenance on this equipment, follow these general precautions.
  • Installation and service of luminaires should be performed by a qualified licensed electrician.
  • Maintenance of the luminaires should be performed by a person(s) familiar with the luminaires’ construction and operation and any hazards involved. Regular fixture maintenance programs are recommended.
  • It will occasionally be necessary to clean the outside of the refractor/lens. The frequency of cleaning will depend on ambient dirt level and minimum light output which is acceptable to the user. The refractor/lens should be washed in a solution of warm water and any mild, non-abrasive household detergent, rinsed with clean water, and wiped dry. Should the optical assembly become dirty on the inside, wipe the refractor/lens and clean in the above manner, replacing damaged gaskets as necessary
  • DO NOT INSTALL DAMAGED PRODUCT! This luminaire has been properly packed so that no parts should have been damaged during transit. Inspect to confirm. Any part damaged or broken during or after assembly should be replaced.

WARNING

RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

  • Disconnect or turn off power before installation or servicing.
  • Verify that the supply voltage is correct by comparing it with the luminaire label information.
  • Make all electrical and grounded connections in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any applicable local code requirements.
  •  All wiring connections should be capped with UL-approved recognized wire connectors.

  • Wear gloves and safety glasses at all times when removing luminaire from cartons, installing, servicing or performing maintenance.
  • Avoid direct eye exposure to the light source while it is on.

  • Do not operate in close proximity to persons, combustible materials or substances affected by heat or drying.

CAUTION: RISK OF PRODUCT DAMAGE

Never connect components under load.

  • Do not mount or support these fixtures in a manner that can cut the outer jacket or damage wire insulation.
  • Unless individual product specifications deem otherwise: Never connect an LED product directly to a dimmer pack, occupancy sensors, timing devices, or other related control devices. LED fixtures must be powered directly off a switched circuit.
  • Unless individual product specifications deem otherwise: Do not restrict fixture ventilation. Allow for some volume of airspace around the fixture. Avoid covering LED fixtures with insulation, foam, or other material that will prevent convection or conduction cooling.
  • Unless individual product specifications deem otherwise: Do not exceed the fixture’s maximum ambient temperature.
  • Only use the fixture in its intended location.
  • LED products are Polarity Sensitive. Ensure proper Polarity before installation.
  • Electrostatic Discharge (ESD): ESD can damage LED fixtures. Personal grounding equipment must be worn during all installation or servicing of the unit.
  • Do not touch individual electrical components as this can cause ESD, shorten lamp life, or alter performance.
  • Some components inside the fixture may not be serviceable. In the unlikely event, your unit may require service, stop using the unit immediately and contact an ABL representative for assistance.Always read the fixture’s complete installation instructions prior to installation for any additional fixture specific warnings.

INTRODUCTION

Product Description. The WallConnect luminaire has been designed and tested to meet the applicable requirements of CSA and is suitable for use in wet locations.

INSTALLATION

Installation Preparation

Unpack the fixture and remove the door by loosening the two captive closure screws or latches. Disconnect the green grounding wire and quick-disconnect harness (If control options are present).

These will be reconnected after mounting.
Remove the reflector with 3 screws to gain full access to the mounting features.
Use 3/8” drill bit or 3/16” drill bit to drill out the desired mounting hole positions from the pre-formed mounting positions.

Installation and Maintenance

Apply caulk to cover the mounting fasteners on the inside of the enclosure to prevent moisture entry.

  • Reinstall the reflector with three screws from step 2.1.2

Conduit Attachment and Wiring

  • Remove the threaded plug from the desired conduit entry point.

  • Apply pipe thread sealant to threads to prevent moisture entry.

  • Install ½” NPT threaded conduit.
    NOTE : If routing wires through the top entry point, remove the reflector from step 2.1.2 if not done so already.

  • Pull wiring into the luminaire and make the appropriate wire connections and cover each connection using wire nuts or other methods meeting state or local electrical code
    If the terminal block option was ordered, make the appropriate supply wire connections per the diagram below.

  • Reinstall the reflector with three screws from step 2.1.2
    CAUTION
    DO NOT LEAVE ANY SUPPLY WIRING INSIDE THE FIXTURE. SUPPLY WIRE IN CONTACT WITH HOT INTERNAL COMPONENTS MAY CAUSE INSULATION FAILURE, A SHORT CIRCUIT CONDITION, AND DAMAGE TO THE FIXTURE.

Installation Completion

  • Re-install the door.
  • Plug in the connectors between the ballast and supply lines.
  • Swing the door closed and tighten the closure screws securely

MAINTENANCE

Cleaning

  • Disconnect or shut off electrical power to the fixture location.
  • Open the door by loosening the two captive closure screws or latches.
  • Wipe the reflector and the glass refractor with a clean dry cloth to remove any dust and dirt.
  • Retighten the closure screws or secure latches.
  • PR7 option
  • How to adjust receptacle position:
  • Loosen the two screws (do not remove from locking ring)

Cleaning

  • Disconnect or shut off electrical power to the fixture location.
  • Open the door by loosening the two captive closure screws or latches.
  • Wipe the reflector and the glass refractor with a clean dry cloth to remove any dust and dirt.
  • Retighten the closure screws or secure latches.
  • PR7 option
  • How to adjust receptacle position:
  • Loosen the two screws (do not remove them from the locking ring)
  • Use a screwdriver to rotate the housing clockwise until the “North” indicator points in the desired direction (typically due North).
  • The rotatable dimming receptacle is designed to limit the total rotation to 355 degrees with a stop feature. If the desired direction can’t be achieved by turning clockwise due to the stop feature, simply turn the center receptacle housing counterclockwise to the desired position.
  • Once the desired aiming is achieved, the mounting screws must be retightened to the recommended 15 inch-pounds of torque.
