Product Usage Instructions

Installation of Loam Lever

  1. Position hinged clamp on the handlebar and attach the lever using one of the threaded hole options on the lever body. Tighten with a 3mm allen wrench to a maximum of 2nm.
  2. Loosen the cable fixing bolt on the underside of the dropper lever with a 3mm allen wrench. Screw the barrel adjuster fully clockwise and ensure the cable housing has an end cap installed.
  3. Insert the dropper cable through the barrel adjuster until the housing is completely seated. Thread the cable under the fixing bolt and washer. Torque the cable fixing bolt to 2.5 nm.
  4. Adjust the lever bottom-out position using a 2.5mm allen wrench based on personal preference.
  5. Pump the lever 5-10 times to ensure proper seating of the cable housing and check for any play in the cable. Make micro adjustments using the barrel adjuster.
  6. Trim excess cable with cable cutters, leaving at least 10-15mm for placing the cable end cap. Crimp the cable end in place.

  1. Position hinged clamp on bar and attach lever to clamp using one of the threaded hole options on lever body to achieve your desired position. Tighten with 3mm allen wrench to max-imum 2nm. Note: This position can be changed after install to fine tune fit.

  2. Loosen, but do not remove, the cable fixing bolt on the underside of the dropper lever with a 3mm allen wrench, screw the barrel adjuster fully in clockwise, and make sure the cable housing has a housing end cap installed. Insert the dropper cable through the barrel adjuster until the housing is completely seated in barrel adjuster, threading the cable under the cable fixing bolt and washer.

  3. Pull cable taut and torque cable fixing bolt to 2.5 nm
    with a 3mm allen wrench. Note: Make sure cable is seated underneath the washer to ensure proper cable retention with the washer. At this point you may use a 2.5mm allen wrench to adjust the lever bottom-out position via the bolt located on the backside of the lever. Adjust based on person-al preference.   4. Push the lever 5-10 times to make sure the cable housing is fully seated and to check for play in the cable. Note: if there is play in the lever/cable, loosen cable fixing bolt with 3mm allen wrench and pull cable tight a second time. For micro adjustments, use the barrel adjuster on the lever where the cable enters.

  5. Trim excess cable with cable cutters with enough room to place cable end on end of exposed cable (Leave at least 10-15mm for this). It is important to use proper cable cutters to prevent the cable from fraying.

Did you purchase a brake mount for your Loam Lever? If so here are instructions for each:

I SPEC EV ADAPTER INSTALLATION

  1. Loosen the brake lever clamp bolt and remove it from your handlebar.
  2. With the brake clamp open, insert the curved nut in the rectangular opening in the clamp so the threaded portion is sticking through the opening.
  3. With the curved nut in place attach the brake lever on the handlebar, position the lever to your preferred position then set it to the proper torque.
  4. Install the Adapter to the threaded part of the curved nut that is attached to the clamp
  5. Install the Loam Lever to the adapter to your preferred location
  6. Once satisfied with the position of the Loam Lever and Brake Lever, torque all bolts to spec.

I SPEC II ADAPTER INSTALLATION

  1. Loosen the brake lever clamp bolt and remove it from your handlebar. (There is a small silver “button” that says Push to Open, depress this to open the clamp).
  2. Remove the plastic pre-installed clamp spacer
  3. Put the I Spec II adapter on the bar, making sure the mounting bolt holes are toward the stem
  4. Place the brake lever clamp on the bar, with the Adapter sandwiched between the bar and the clamp (with the adapter on the underside of the bar). There is a lip on one side of the adapter, be sure this is flush with the clamp.
  5. Tighten the clamp bolt hand tight
  6. Install the Loam Lever to the adapter then position the Loam Lever to your preferred location
  7. Once satisfied with the position of the Loam Lever and Brake Lever, torque all bolts to spec.

SRAM MMX ADAPTER INSTALLATION

  1. Loosen brake lever mounting screw and remove it from your handlebar.
  2. Install the Loam Lever Adapter Curved Nut into the opening on the bottom half of the clamp
  3. Install the brake lever with the curved nut in place on the bar
  4. Install the Loam Lever Adapter to the threaded part of the curved nut
  5. Install the Loam Lever to the adapter then position to your preferred location.
  6. Once satisfied with the position of the Loam Lever and Brake Lever, torque all bolts to spec.

Insert the dropper cable through the barrel adjuster until the housing is completed seated in barrel adjuster, threading the cable under the cable fixing bolt and washer

  2. Insert end of cable noodle with rotary ferrule into lever until the cable noodle is completely seated.

  4. Insert barrel nut into the round floating center blade of the lever. It is crucial that the barrel nut is placed into the curved portion of the floating center blade. Note: The barrel nut that will be inserted into the lever has a hole for the cable to slide through and is tight-ened using a 2mm and 3mm allen wrench.
  5. Pull the cable through the lever and hole in the barrel nut until the cable is tight.
  6. Tighten the barrel nut with a 2mm allen wrench on one side and a 3mm allen wrench on the other side. Note: You may have to back off the 2mm side to open the hole in the barrel nut. PNW-Components-B086M8S2V1-Range-Dropper-Post-Amzong- \(13\)
  7. Push the lever 5-10 times to make sure the cable housing is fully seated and to check for play in the cable.   1. Remove bar tape to expose bare handlebar and cable housing/wiring for proper clamp placement.
  2. Identify the two types of housing included with your dropper lever. The shorter approximately 600mm length of housing is more flexible than the longer section of housing and does not have or require cable ends. This shorter more flexible section of housing will be installed at the lever under the bar tape and connect to the longer standard housing that will run to the post via the included rotary ferrule.
  3. Position lever on bar and clamp in place with a 2.5mm allen wrench to a maximum of 2nm.
  4. Insert end of flexible cable housing into lever until the housing is completely seated and run housing along handlebar, securing with tape.
  5. Insert cable originating at dropper post through rotary ferrule and through the housing to the lever.
  6. Insert barrel nut into the round floating center blade of the lever. It is crucial that the barrel nut is placed into the curved portion of the floating center blade. Note: The barrel nut that will be inserted into the lever has a hole for the cable to slide through and is tightened using a 2mm and 3mm allen wrench.   7. Pull the cable through the lever and hole in the barrel nut until the cable is tight.

  1. Insert cable into shifter cable end barrel adapter.
  2. Insert cable with barrel adapter into dropper post actuator rod.

  4. Internally route cable housing through frame according to manufacturer’s recommendations.
  5. Insert the dropper post into properly lubricated seat tube. Be sure to insert post beyond minimum insertion line on post.

  7. Place saddle rails into clamp, adjust angle and fore/aft position per bike fit, tighten bolts with 5mm allen wrench to 8-10nm.
