Installation and operation
- Some parts with sharp edges may cause injury. So gloves are highly recommended for unpacking and installing.
- The portable air conditioner is a heavy object, which needs two or more people to lift and install. Failed to do may result in injury or other accidents.
- After installation please store the carton, plastic bag, and other packing materials in a safe place to avoid children’s contact. Packing materials can become airtight chambers.
- Keep the product away from fire. Do not store or use flammable gases or materials near the appliance.
- In the event of a gas leak (propane gas, LP gas, etc.) do not operate this or any other appliance. Open a window or door to ventilate the area immediately.
- Do not repair or replace any part of the appliance. All repairs and servicing must be performed by qualified service personnel.
- Never attempt to operate this appliance if it is damaged, malfunctioning, partially disassembled or has missing or broken parts, including a damaged cord or plug.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by the person responsible for their safety.
- Do not use heating equipment near the appliance.
- Only use the appliance in an upright position. Make sure the angle of inclination<10°. Always place the appliance on a stable, flat, level surface to prevent the air conditioner from overturning.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY (High voltage appliance)

If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorized technical service center in order to avoid all risk.
During the installing or moving the appliance, be careful not to pinch, crush, or damage the power cord.
Do not damage, alter, excessively bend, twist, pull or heat the power cord.
Do not modify or extend the power cor.

Do not cover the power cord with a rug or carpeting.
Do not rest hot or heavy objects on the appliance and power cable. -
Always plug into a fixed 115V AC ground outlet.
Push the power plug all the way into the wall outlet so that it is not loose.
Always grip the plug firmly and pull straig ht out from the outlet when taking it out.
Never unplug the appliance by pulling on the power cord.
Never use the appliance if the outlet is damaged or loose.

Do not use multiple-outlet power strip or extension cord with this appliance.
Do not use an AC plug adapter with this appliance.
Do not cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord.

Always finish the test of LCDI plug before use air conditioner:
LCD INTEGRATED CIRCUIT BREAKER:
Follow 4 steps on the LCD I plug ca se, if the TEST button does not cause the circuit breaker trip or the RESET button will not stay engaged, unplug the air conditioner immediately and contact JHS customer service center.
GROUNDING METHOD
Ensure proper ground exists before use. -
Always unplug the unit from the outlet before cleaning or maintenance operations.
Always unplug the unit if you will not use it for a long time.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
SUGGESTED TOOLS FOR INSTALLATION
- Screwdrivers (medium size)
- Tape measure or ruler
- Knife or scissors
- Saw (In the event that the window kit needs to be cut down in size because the window is too narrow for direct installation)
SELECTION OF INSTALLATION LOCATION
- Place the unit near a window.
- For be st performance, allow at least 20 inch (50cm) of air space on all sides of the unit for good air circulation.
ATTACHING EXHAUST HOSE
Install the plastic hose with window bracket adapter and hose connector on
both sides. Ensure proper fit on both ends.
The supplied exhaust hose can be extended to 59inch max.
(Stretch both ends of the exhaust hose out for 10-15cm.)
Push the plastic lose into the hose connector on the back of the unit.
Keep gently and horizontal to avoid getting stuck.
Note:
The length of the exhaust hose is specially designed for the unit. Da not
replace or extend it with another hose as this could cause malfunction. Do not
block airflow around the air conditioner. The exhaust hose should be free of
any obstructions.
A bent hose will block exhaust air and cause the unit to malfunction or shut
off.
WINDOW KIT INSTALLATION
NOTE: Depending on the size of your window opening, use the main panel and one or both of the extension panels.

Open the window and place the main window panel into the window.
NOTE : The window assembly is designed to accommodate either a vertical slide or horizontal slide window.

Adjust the extension panel(s) to the width or height of the window as shown.
NOTE: Some window installations may require the extension panels to be trimmed. -
Depending on the number of extension panels used, use two or three flat screws to secure the extension panel(s) to the main panel. Install front the back.
CONNECT HOSE TO WINDOW KIT
The air exhaust hose must be installed or removed from the portable air conditioner in accordance with the way it is being used:

Hold the main window panel so that the L-shaped edges of the panel are facing you.

Align the exhaust nozzle with the slots in the opening, and then insert and slide the nozzle to access the hole from the the back of the main window panel.

Turn the main window panel over, so that the nozzle is away from you. Insert a flat screw through the hole to fasten the window panel to the adapter.

Grasp both ends of the exhaust hose and gently pull to expand the hose.
NOTE: Do not attach additional hoses to extend the length. This would decrease cooling efficiency and may damage the air conditioner. -
Using a counterclockwise motion, attach the open end of the exhaust hose to the exhaust nozzle.

IMPORTANT: When connecting the hose, the air conditioner must be close enough to the window that you will not dislodge the window seal plate. Once the hose is connected, move the air conditioner 20” (51 cm) from the wall.
- Extend the flexible exhaust hose to reach out to the unit.
- Aim the opening of the hose to the air exhaust outlet and push it hard straight into the outlet until it clicks.
OPERATION
INSERTING BATTERIES IN THE REMOTE
- Press and glide the battery cover on the rear of the remote, remove the cover.
- Insert two new R03 “AAA” 1.5V batteries into the battery compartment. Make sure the polarity is correct.
- Battery is not included in the package because of transportation safety.
NOTE:
- Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zins) or rechargeable batteries.
- If the remote control is not be used for a certain length of time, remove the batteries (Batteries may explode or leak).
- If the remote control unit is rep/aced or discarded, the batteries must be removed and disposed of in accordance with current legislation as they are harmful to the environment.

Celsius/ Fahrenheit temperature indicator
A. Timer Button
Program a time from (1-hour to 24-hours) for the air conditioner to turn Off
or On. When a Time Delay is programmed, the Timer indicator light will
illuminate.
While the air conditioner is operating:
- Press the Timer button.
- Press the Up/Down arrow buttons to select the number of hours you want the air conditioner to continue to operate before turning Off.
NOTE: Wait approximately 5 seconds for the Turn-Off time to be saved.
While the air conditioner is off:
- Press the Timer button.
- Press the Up/Down arrow buttons to select the number of hours you want the air conditioner to remain off before turning On.
NOTE: Wait approximately 5 seconds for the Turn-On time to be saved. To cancel the timer:
- Press the Timer button once, the hours remaining will flash, press the timer button again and the timer will be canceled.
B. Fan Speed Button
The fan speed can be adjusted from Low speed to High speed when the air
conditioner is either in Cool or Fan mode.
NOTE: The fan speed cannot be adjusted when the unit is in DEHUM mode.
- Press the Fan Speed button to toggle among the two speeds. The corresponding fan speed indicator will illuminate.
C. Up and Down Arrow Buttons
Adjusts the Temperature or Hours in Time Delay.
To Set the Temperature:
The temperature can be set between 62°F and 86o F (17oC and 30° C) when the
air conditioner is in Cool mode.
- Press the Mode button until the Cool mode is selected.
- Press the Up Arrow or Down Arrow buttons to select the Temperature.
NOTE: The temperature cannot be set when the air conditioner is in either Fan or Dry mode.
D. Mode Button
Press the Mode button to toggle among the operating options. The corresponding
indicator will illuminate:
- Cool — Cools the room to the set temperature
- Dehum — Reduces the humidity in the room
- Fan — Circulates the air in the room without cooling
E. Power Button
Turns ON/OFF power to the air conditioner.
NOTE: Turning off power by pressing the Power buttondoes NOT disconnect
the appliance from the power supply.
- Press the Power button. The Power indicator will illuminate.
REMOTE CONTROL
- Insert the two batteries (provided).
- Aim the remote control at the signal receiver on the control panel to operate the air conditioner.
F. Sleep Button
Increases the set temperature by 2°F (1°C) after 2-hours, and then increases
the temperature by an additional 2 F (1°C) after another 2-hours.
NOTE: The fan will operate at Low speed dnd cannot be adjusted while in
Sleep mode. Press the Sleep button to enter Sleep mode. The Sleep indicator
will illuminate.
To Cancel Sleep Mode:

Press the Sleep button or the Mode button (Cool, Fan or Dry) on the remote control.
G- °C/°F Button -
Press the oC/°F button to toggle between displaying the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit or degrees Celsius. The corresponding indicator will illuminate.
WATER DRAINAGE
This portable air conditioner has a self-evaporative system. The condensed
water will be recycled to the working compressor and evaporator, most of the
water will be evaporated.
This work procedure can not only improve cooling efficiency but also save
energy for all customers. Since most of the condensed water will be used to
aid the compressor, there is no need of drain hose in general using
environment.
If you use the portable air conditioner for cooling or dehumidifying in a high humidity situation (Relative humidity >85%, like New Orleans, Louisiana, Jacksonville, Florida, Houston), the collected excess water will need to be drained through a drain plug in the bottom of the unit. With a full reservoir, the compressor will stop working.
Manual Drainage
- Unscrew the water stopper and unplug the rubber plug
- Put a tray below the water outlet at the back of the unit.
Continuous Drainage
- Unscrew the water stopper and unplug the rubber plug
- Connect the drainage pipe to the water container or drainage ditch to outdoor. The drainage pipe is purchased by users , pipe diameter is φ13mm
PROTECTION FUNCTION OF PORTABLE AIR CONDITIONER

Frost Protection Function:
In a cold environment, if the temperature of the EVA pipe sensor is too low, the machine will automatically enter.protection status; if the temperature of the EVA pipe sensor rises to a certain temperature ( 8 °C), it can automatically revert to normal operation. -
Overflow Protection Function:
When water in the water pan exceeds the warning level, the machine will automatically sound an alarm and stop working, and the W.F indicator will flash. At this time, you need to drain the water After the water is emptied, the unit will work normal again. -
Protection Function of the Compressor:
To increase the service life of the compressor, it has a 3-minute delay booting protection function after the compressor is turned off.
CARE AND CLEANING
Before cleaning or maintenance, turn the appliance off by pressing the button on the control panel or button on the remote control. Wait for 5-10 minutes then unplug from the electrical outlet.
CLEANING THE CASE
- You should clean the appliance with a slightly damp cloth then dry with a dry cloth.
- Never wash the air conditioner with water. It could be dangerous because of short circuit or fire.
- Never use petrol, alcohol or solvents to clean the appliance.
- Never spray insecticide liquids or similar.
CLEANING THE FILTER
If the air filter is clogged with dust, the effectiveness of the air conditioning will be reduced. To keep your air conditioner working efficiently, you should clean the evaporator filter every two weeks of operation.

Unplug or disconnect power.

Pull on the tabs to slide out the filters from the back of the air conditioner.
NOTE: The secondary filters are accessible once the main filters are removed. -
Wash or vacuum the dust from the air filters.
NOTE: If washed, gently shake the filter to remove the excess water and dust particles trapped in the filter. -
Reinstall the filters.

Plug in or reconnect power.

- Remove the cap, run off all water left into the basin. When all the water has been drained, put the cap back in place.
- Clean the filter and dry thoroughly before putting back.
- Remove the batteries from the remote.
- Store the unit in a cool, dry room, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and excessive dust. Keep it out of the reach of children.
START OF NEW SEASON CHECKS
- Make sure the power cable and plug are undamaged.
- Follow the installation instructions precisely, install the unit again.
- Place new batteries into remote.
TROUBLESHOOTING
BEFORE YOU ASK FOR SERVICE
- Check to make sure that the air conditioner is plugged in securely. If it is not, remove the plug from the outlet, wait 10 seconds and plug it in again firmly.
- Check the blown circuit fuse or the tripped main circuit breaker. If they work properly, test the outlet with another appliance.
Troubleshoot your problem by using the chart below. This list includes common
occurrences that are not the result of a defect in factory workmanship or
materials.
If the air conditioner still does not work properly, contact the customer
service center. Customers must never troubleshoot internal components.

If the appearance or exterior of the product h as been damaged or defaced, altered or modified in design or construction.
- If there is damaged due to power line surge, user damage to the AC power cord or connection to an improper voltage source.
- If the damage is due to general misuse, accidents.
- Damages caused by unauthorized repair and using of non-genuine parts.
- On products that have been purchased as refurbished, like new, second hand.
