From 2024, new non-residential buildings will have to be equipped with building automation from 2024. In the properties concerned, it must be ensured, among other things, that communication between all building technology systems and applications is possible and secure, even with different technologies and manufacturer-specific devices. JUNG KNX Secure meets these requirements – from the actuator to the control unit. Security plays an important role here. KNX Secure is the official standard of the KNX Association to guarantee security and data protection in buildings
New products from JUNG enable an all-round secure KNX system
Faster parameterization and easy maintenance: The new secure JUNG KNX components master KNX Secure and receive updates via the ETS Service App. From actuators to visualisation: JUNG offers the right KNX device for every area in the house.
The new KNX room controllers have an extended controller, an updated application in the ETS and a faster processor. With the new KNX push-button interfaces, floating contacts such as push-buttons, switches or reed contacts become KNX control units. Instead of the previous five-metre cable length, the new interfaces now cover up to 30 meters. They are available in 2-gang, 4-gang and 8-gang versions. Compact and powerful, the new KNX area/line coupler as a 1 RU for rail mounting device is a reliable solution for connecting two KNX lines with simultaneous electrical isolation. As an area coupler, the product is used to connect a main line with an area line. The KNX heating actuator 6-gang enables central control of up to six independent heating or cooling zones. The integrated controller allows the temperature to be individually set and monitored. Up to 12 controllers can be used as an option. The new DALI 2 Gateway Colour serves as an interface between KNX and DALI. It allows the control and monitoring of individual luminaires via the KNX system by transmitting commands bidirectionally. The gateway can also be used to control groups of luminaires. Commissioning is carried out via the Device Configuration App (DCA). It is available in 1-gang and 2-gang versions. The new KNX DALI 2 actuator bridges the gap between the KNX dimming actuator and the KNX DALI gateway. It is a four-channel multi-master device and is therefore ideal for recurring and smaller installations (available at the end of 2024). The new Smart Visu Server has an anodized aluminum housing and, in addition to the connections for power supply (5V, USB-C), network connection and four USB ports, also has a reset push-button and a status indication. The SVS software continues to work seamlessly. Commissioning is significantly faster, as JUNG has made extensive improvements to the SV-Control. The redesigned backend has been visually adapted to SV-Home. This guarantees a more convenient commissioning as the entire system can be operated in a more standardized way. Templates, search and filter options and copy functions speed up the process. JUNG offers control units with KNX Secure for controlling the functions in the building: The new KNX push-buttons F 40 and F 50 in the universal version. In addition to new firmware with functional enhancements, there is also a redesigned application for the devices.
JUNG KNX Secure is the answer to BSI recommendations
The German Federal Office for Information Security recommends the segmentation of building automation systems in order to limit the spread of attacks. KNX allows targeted segmentation. These segments guarantee a clear separation of different areas and can protect against unauthorized access with KNX Secure. KNX Secure is standardized in accordance with the EN 50090-3-4 standard. This means that KNX successfully blocks hacker attacks on the digital infrastructure of networked buildings. The standard basically consists of two parts. Regardless of the medium, KNX IP Secure encrypts and authenticates all telegrams at the network level. The transmitted data is absolutely secure. This means that the communication between sensor and actuator in the IP network cannot be interpreted or manipulated. KNX IP Secure is the first manufacturer-independent security solution that is recognized as an international security standard in accordance with the EN ISO 22510 standard. KNX Data Secure additionally encrypts the data on the bus line (twisted pair) or via wireless communication (RF). It is important that every control unit, every actuator and every sensor in the house supports KNX Secure so as not to be the weakest link in the data chain in the network. JUNG is continuously expanding the KNX Secure portfolio so that a fully secure smart building installation is possible.
