Fire Alarm
Determining the Fire Location
Check the LCD message area to identify the zones reporting an alarm.
Determining Cause of Buzzer:
If the buzzer is sounding:
- If LED is flashing or steady – Fire Alarm
- If LED is steady – Fault
Alarm Location Details
The LCD displays information like number of devices, control panel ID,
zone, loop, and device details for the alarm location.
Verifying and Activating the Fire Alarm:
Verification:
Investigate to confirm the genuine fire alarm within the designated time.
Activating Sounders
If verified, break the manual call point or press the button on the control
panel to activate sounders and alarms.
Evacuation:
Leave the building following the evacuation drill once the fire alarm is
activated.
Fault Handling
Silencing the Buzzer
To silence the buzzer, press the button on the control panel. Ensure to
confirm the cause of the fault before silencing.
Contacting Maintenance
Immediately contact your maintenance contractor to investigate and repair
the fault.

Press F3 (Support) to view additional information configured by your
contractor.

If you hear the buzzer Determine the cause of the buzzer
WARNING: Depending on your fire alarm system configuration, the buzzer may be your first indication of a fire alarm.
- If the buzzer is sounding and the LED is flashing or steady, then it’s a fire alarm.
- If the buzzer is sounding and the LED is steady, then it’s a fault.
For a fire alarm
Determine the location of the fire
Check the location of the fire. The LCD message area displays information from
the first and last zones to report an alarm.
Alarm location details are indicated as follows.

In this example, P01:Z0001:D3.010, an alarm has been activated by device 10 on loop 3 in zone 1 on control panel 1 (ten devices are in alarm in the corresponding zone).
Determine the source of the fire alarm
The following LCD icons indicate the source of the fire alarm.
- Detector alarm. If the LED is flashing and the detector icon is displayed on the LCD, then the system has detected a detector alarm.
- Manual call point alarm. If the LED is steady, and the manual call point icon is displayed on the LCD, then the system has detected a manual call point alarm.
Verify the fire alarm
If necessary, investigate the location of the fire alarm to confirm that the
alarm is genuine.
Depending on the configuration of your fire alarm system, you may have up to
ten minutes to investigate the alarm before sounders and other alarm
notification devices are activated.
Activate the sounders
If the fire alarm is verified, do either of the following to activate the
sounders and other alarm notification devices immediately:
Break the nearest manual call point.

Press the button on the control panel.
Leave the building
Once the fire alarm has been confirmed and the fire alarm activated, leave the
building and follow your company’s evacuation drill.
For a fault

Silence the buzzer
To silence the buzzer, press the button on the control panel.
The LED turns on and the buzzer stops. New alarm or fault events will turn the buzzer back on.
Caution : Always confirm the cause of the warning signal before silencing the buzzer.
Additional information on the fault is available by pressing F1 (Show Events). -
Contact your maintenance contractor
Contact your maintenance contractor immediately to investigate and repair the fault.

Viewing current event information
To view current event information, press F1 (Show events) and then select the
event type to view.
The event types available to this user level are:
- Alarms
- Alerts
- Faults
- Conditions
Conditions include all other system events. Examples: tests and disablements in the fire system.
Viewing support information
To view support information configured by your installation or maintenance
contractor, press F3 (Support). Your installer or maintenance contractor may
configure different messages to display in alarm and nonalarm situations.
Note: This information is only available if your installation or
maintenance contractor has added information to the fire system configuration.
