PREP CLAY
Soften your clay by kneading with your hands. We could do this for hours, but it only takes a couple of minutes. -
MAKE EM
Pick two colors and roll both into long snake shapes. Twist the two colors together and roll until smooth to create a marbled effect. Roll the clay into a long snake-like shape. Twist the snake’s body into curves and coils so that it can stand on its own. -
ADD DETAILS
Use a small portion of black clay for the snake’s eyes and hot pink for the snake’s tongue. Attach these features to each snake using light pressure. Add any other details to the snakes you would like using clay and your double- headed needle tool. Use the other colors provided to create a cactus or any other details for the snake’s habitat. Look at ours for inspiration, or choose your own adventure. -
BAKE EM
Once you’re happy with your pieces, it’s time to bake some snakes. Baking requires adult supervision. Preheat your oven to 275°F and bake for 15 minutes on a baking tray lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Remove from the oven and allow to cool before moving. Pour your pouch of decorative sand into the acrylic box and add your snakes, rock, and any other creations.
