Before the First Use

1. Pull the plate lock clip forward.
2. Clean the appliance and the plates. See the Care and Cleaning section.
3. Plug in. Both the power indication and the temperature indication lights will turn on.
4. When the temperature indication light turns off, leave the appliance on for about 5 minutes with the plates open.
5. Unplug the device from the power outlet.

Using the Appliance

Note: The top plate is adjusted to the desired height so that food is not pressed against it.

1. Once you have finished grilling, unplug and remove the food from the plates.
2. Allow to cool down completely before cleaning and storing.

Grill (Single Plate)

• This position is appropriate when you want to cook more food over a larger area. It is ideal for grilling fish, vegetables, kebabs, etc.

• Never let the power unit, cord, or plug get wet. If the appliance does get wet, immediately remove the power cord from the wall outlet, and do not put your hands in the water. Never run the wet appliance and contact one of the authorized BENRUBI service centers.
• To prevent fire, do not use the appliance under or near flammable materials such as curtains, fabrics, charcoal, etc.
• Always leave enough space over and around all sides of the appliance (10-16cm) for air circulation.
• Do not put the appliance under the cabinet if there is not enough free space around all sides of the appliance.

• Do not let the power cord of the appliance hang over the edge of a table or bench top or where a child could grab it. Do not let the power cord touch any hot surface.
• Do not use the appliance just under the cupboards.
• Attention: The surface of the appliance is hot during operation.
• Always use the handle and the special oven gloves to touch the hot surfaces of the appliance or remove the food. Do not touch the hot parts of the appliance.
• Never use metal objects to remove food from the plates, as this may damage the nonstick surface. Use only wooden or plastic utensils.
• Do not touch anything except your food on the grill plates during operation. Do not use the appliance without food.
• Be careful of spattering fat when you are grilling fatty meat or sausages.
• NEVER use any plastic container to cook or heat the contents of the device. Do not use cardboard, paper, or plastic on the device.
• Do not try to open the plates of the clip during device operation.
• Do not use the device in a vertical position.
• Never pull the cord to disconnect the appliance from the electrical supply. Instead, grasp the plug and pull it to disconnect.
• Never leave the power cable wrapped during use. Unwind it completely.
• Never use highly corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents.
• Clean the appliance after each use.

Before the First Use

• The appliance can be used for cooking, baking sandwich-toast-bread, etc.
• Do not use the appliance to cook or defrost frozen foods. All foods must be completely defrosted before cooking.

NOTE: Smoke and odors may occur during first use.

1. Pull the plate lock clip (5) forward.
2. Clean the appliance and the plates. See the “Care and Cleaning” section.
3. Plug in. Both the power indication (2) and the temperature indication (3) lights will turn on.
4. When the temperature indication light (3) turns off, leave the appliance on for about 5 minutes with the plates open.
5. Unplug the device from the power outlet.
   • This procedure is required for the first use only.

Using the Appliance

1. Plug in. Both the power indication (2) and the temperature indication (3) lights will turn on.
2. Once the appliance reaches the desired temperature, the temperature indication light (3) will turn off.
3. Open the plates and place the food on the grill plates (7).
   • NOTE: During baking, the temperature indication light (3) flashes at intervals to maintain the correct temperature.
4. Close the plates and let the food cook according to your preference, the type of ingredients, and their thickness.
   • NOTE: The top plate is adjusted to the desired height in such a way that food such as burger buns, etc. are not pressed against it.
5. Once you have finished grilling unplug and remove the food from the plates.
6. Allow to cool down completely before cleaning and storing.

Grill (Single Plate)

1. Plug in. Both the power indication (2) and the temperature indication (3) lights will turn on.
2. Once the appliance reaches the desired temperature, the temperature indication light (3) will turn off.
3. Open the top plate and leave it in a vertical position.
4. Place the food on the bottom plate and let it cook according to your preference, the type of the ingredients, and their thickness.
   • NOTE: During baking, the temperature indication light (3) flashes at intervals to maintain the correct temperature.
5. Unplug and remove the food from the plate.
6. Allow to cool down completely before cleaning and storing.

Grill/BBQ Opening 180°

This position is appropriate when you want to cook more food over a larger area. It is ideal for grilling fish, vegetables, kebabs, etc.

1. Plug in. Both the power indication (2) and the temperature indication (3) lights will turn on.
2. Open the top plate in the vertical position, and push the plate opening lever (5) upwards until it opens 180°.
3. Once the appliance reaches the desired temperature, the temperature indication light (3) will turn off.
4. Place the food on the plates and let it cook according to your preference, the type of the ingredients, and their thickness.
   • NOTE: During baking, the temperature indication light (3) flashes at intervals to maintain the correct temperature.
5. Unplug and remove the food from the plates.
6. Allow to cool down completely before cleaning and storing.

Useful Tips

• To turn the food to the other side, use a wooden spatula to avoid scratches on the grill plates (do not use metal knives or forks).
• Grill your food according to your taste (well-done, medium rare, rare, etc.). To cook meat, adjust the temperature to high. A longer time is needed.
• To cook chicken or fish, adjust the temperature to low.
• It is not recommended to grill hard meat. Soft meat slices are ideal for grill. For best results, grill thin slices and uniform food.
• Smoke may come between the baking plates of the appliance during operation when the top cover is open. Take special care when removing hot food from the grill plates.
• For best results, remove the excess oil from the plates with kitchen paper before baking the next “batch” of food.

Notes:

• The grill plates are coated with a non-stick coating. Some filings such as cheese may melt and stick on the double non-stick coating. To clean the plates from any food residue, use a plastic or wooden spatula.
• Never use metal components, as they may scratch the nonstick surface of the plates.
• Never touch the surfaces of the device while it is in use. Use the anti-heat handle (1). Take special care when removing hot food from the baking plates.

Cleaning and Maintenance

• Cleaning the appliance every time you use it avoids smoke and unpleasant smells the next time you cook.
• Before cleaning the appliance, ensure that it is disconnected from the outlet and that both the plates and the body of your appliance are cooled down completely.
• NEVER immerse the appliance and the electric cord in water or any other liquid.
• Never use metal cleaners such as wire, brush, chemical solutions, or abrasive cleaning materials to clean your appliance.
• You can wipe and dry the external surface of your appliance as well as the plates with a damp cloth or kitchen towel.
• To clean over oil or leftovers use firstly a paper towel, then a wood or plastic spatula.
• Make sure the parts of the device that you clean are completely dry before reuse or before storage.

Drip tray:

• Remove and empty the drip container after each use.
• Wash with warm water and dishwashing detergent. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
• Do not use wire or hard sponges for cleaning as they may be damaged the surface of the container.
• Do not wash in the dishwasher.

Carriage and Storage of the Appliance

• Make sure the appliance has cooled down before storing it.
• Store the appliance in a dry place without moisture.
• To carry the device, lock the plates. Push the plate locks down (5) until the plates lock.
• Store the appliance out of the reach of children.
