Basic safety notes
Intended use
The Geberit pressing tool is exclusively used for pressing Geberit pressing
system pipes and pressfittings.
Only use Geberit pressing attachments (pressing jaws, pressing collars and
adapter jaws) that carry the compatibility mark .
The Geberit pressing tool is exclusively intended to be used in accordance
with these operating instructions. Other uses are deemed to be improper and
can lead to serious injury or death.
The Geberit pressing tool is not intended for:
-
use with other manufacturers’ pressing attachments
-
use without pressing attachments inserted
The Geberit pressing tool together with Geberit pressing attachments is not intended for: -
pressing objects other than those specified in the operating instructions
-
pressing the pipes and pressfittings of other manufacturers
-
pressing pressfittings which have different dimensions to the pressing attachment
User qualifications
Without suitable training, users cannot detect or may incorrectly estimate the hazards presented by the Geberit pressing tool. They are therefore at risk of seriously injuring themselves or others.
- Skilled persons qualified in pipe installations only may be permitted to use the Geberit pressing tool.
- Users must be conversant with and apply country-specific safety regulations.

Following information and instructions
WARNING
Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications
provided with this power tool.
Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock,
fire and/or serious injury.
- Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
Read through and observe the following documents before commissioning:
- the accompanying “Basic safety notes for electric tools” document
- the user manual for the Geberit pressing attachments in question
- the user manual for the battery charger
Avoiding hazards caused by defective Geberit pressing attachment
Geberit pressing attachments (pressing jaws, pressing collars, adapter jaws) are exposed to a great deal of stress during the pressing procedure and will wear out. The use of worn or damaged pressing attachments can lead to serious injuries or death as a result of flying fragments.
- Only use pressing attachments if they are in perfect working order.
- Adhere to maintenance intervals.
- Regularly inspect pressing attachments for defects and damage before and after every use. Check for incipient cracks in the pressing contour and on the flange.
- If incipient cracks are detected in the pressing attachment, cease using it.
Avoiding damage to Geberit pressing attachments caused by faulty pressing operations
WARNING
Risk of injury caused by the use of incorrect pressing attachments
- Only use pressing attachments that correspond to the diameter of the pressfittings to be processed.
Geberit pressing attachments can be damaged by faulty pressing operations or use; for example, if foreign bodies are pressed along with the pressfittings .
- Only use Geberit pressing attachments that carry the compatibility mark .
- Do not tilt the pressing attachment on the pressfittings.
- If you suspect that the pressing attachment is damaged, replace it
and have the damaged pressing attachment tested by an authorised repair shop.
Using personal protective equipment
Without suitable protective equipment, people may be seriously injured or killed by flying fragments from Geberit pressing attachments.
- Wear a protective helmet and protective goggles during the pressing procedure.
Maintenance and repairs only to be carried out by repair shops
Geberit pressing tools and Geberit pressing attachments that are not maintained, or are not professionally maintained, can cause serious accidents.
- It is imperative that users comply with the date of the next maintenance inspection, stated on the service sticker.
- Maintenance and repair work may only be performed by authorised repair shops.
- Perform maintenance on the Geberit pressing tool and Geberit pressing attachments according to instructions. → See “Maintenance”, page 31.
Avoiding health hazards posed by permanent operation
Limit values for vibration emission values and noise annoyance can be exceeded during continuous operation and be harmful to health.
- Wear vibration-absorbing gloves with rubber or foam padding.
- Schedule breaks and activities in places not exposed to vibration.
- Wear ear protection.

Disposal
Disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment
The symbol of the crossed-out wheeled bin means that waste electrical and
electronic equipment (WEEE) must be disposed of separately and not with other
non-recyclable waste.
End users are legally obliged to return old equipment to public waste disposal
authorities, distributors, or Geberit for proper disposal. Many distributors
of electrical and electronic equipment are obliged to take back WEEE free of
charge. Contact the responsible sales or service company to return the WEEE to
Geberit.
Used batteries and accumulators that are not enclosed within the old equipment, as well as lamps that can be removed from the old equipment in a non-destructive manner, must be separated from the old equipment before being handed over to a disposal point.
If personal data is stored on the old equipment, end users themselves are responsible for deleting it before handing it over to a disposal point.
