Product Usage Instructions

Install the Phone App:

Before setting up your PhotoSphere, install the GetPhotoSphere app on your phone by scanning the QR code or visiting https://cloud.getphotosphere.com.

Initial Setup

  1. Connect your PhotoSphere to a Wi-Fi router using the network cable.
  2. Plug in the power adapter and connect to a power source.
  3. Ensure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  4. The device is ready to connect to your phone after powering on.

Connecting to Your PhotoSphere

  1. Ensure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as PhotoSphere and open the app.
  2. Agree to permissions and enter your email address for setup.
  3. Retrieve the verification code from the email and enter it into the app.
  4. Add the PhotoSphere device and start searching for it.

Formatting the Drive

  • Before backup, format the hard drive by tapping on the File icon at the bottom of the home page and then tap on Format. Follow on-screen instructions for verification.

Starting Your Backup & Automatic Backups

  • After formatting, start your backup by enabling Automatic Backups from the home page. The Photo and Video Backup button should be turned on (blue).

Connecting Other Phones and Tablets

  • To connect additional devices, install the GetPhotoSphere app, log in with the Primary Account email, and enter the confirmation code received via email.

Install the Phone App

Before you start to set up your PhotoSphere, install the GetP Photosphere app on your phone by scanning the QR code below or visiting https://cloud.getphotosphere.com.

Initial Setup

  • If your PhotoSphere’s hard drive has not been installed, please see the hard drive installation instructions at the end of this guide.
  • Your PhotoSphere is plug-and-play. Plug it into your Wi-Fi router, Wi-Fi extender, or a router. Open the app and the app will detect your PhotoSphere.
  1. Connect your PhotoSphere to a router (Wi-Fi router, Wi-Fi extender, or internet router) using the network cable.
  2. Plug in the power adapter to the device and a power source.
  3. Make sure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
    • Your Wi-Fi router or extender may look different. Connect to the Network Port of your Wi-Fi router or extender.
    • Note: Some Wi-Fi extenders do not have network ports so you must use your Wi-Fi router.
  4. The device is ready to connect to your phone after it is powered on.
    • Connecting to Your PhotoSphere
    • Now that you have the app installed your PhotoSphere is plugged into power and your internet, it’s time to connect the app.

Steps

  1. Make sure your phone is connected to the same Wi-Fi network that your PhotoSphere is plugged into and open the app.
  2. Agree to all permissions so the app can work with your phone.
  3. Agree to any permissions to allow the app to work with your phone.
  4. Enter your email address to set up a Primary account on your PhotoSphere, agree to the Privacy Policy, and tap the button to get your verification code.
  5. Retrieve your verification code from your email and enter it into the PhotoSphere app.
  6. Tap the “+Add” button on the home screen to add a PhotoSphere device.
  7. After verifying you have everything connected, tap the “Start searching” button. If no device is automatically detected, tap “Try again”.
    • Note: Please allow a couple of minutes for your PhotoSphere to finish booting up. Even if the light is blinking amber, it may still not be fully booted.
  8. When your PhotoSphere is detected, tap “OK”.

Formatting the Drive

Before you can start your backup, you must format the hard drive. If you see any messages about formatting the drive, tap it. Otherwise, tap the “File” icon at the bottom of the home page and then tap on “Format”.

  • You will be asked to confirm formatting by typing in “Clear all data”. You must type it exactly as shown on the screen.
  • You will then be sent a confirmation code to verify you are the primary account holder. Look in your email for the confirmation code and enter it. The hard drive will be formatted.

Starting Your Backup & Automatic Backups

  • When the hard drive finishes formatting, you can start your backup. From the home page, tap on your phone

Note: the name of your phone may be different:

  • On the next screen, tap “Enable Automatic Backups”. The “Photo and Video Backup” button will be blue when turned on.
  • You can also turn on “Allows automatic backup…” which will allow for your photos and videos to be backed up while on your cellular network. Warning: data rates may apply if this feature is turned on.

Connecting Other Devices

  • Now that your PhotoSphere is set up, you can connect other devices such as other phones, tablets, and computers.
  • Note: If you connect other devices using your Primary Account email address, all backups will be grouped under the Primary Account.
  • If you want to keep backups separate, you must use the Guest Accounts option to invite new users to your PhotoSphere.
  • Guest Account’s data is kept separate and cannot be accessed by the Primary Account or other guest accounts.

Connecting Other Phones and Tablets

  • To connect your other phones or tablets, install the GetPhotoSphere app on the device and use the Primary Account email address to log in.
  • Retrieve the confirmation code from your email and enter it in the app. Your device is now connected to your
  • PhotoSphere and you can start the backup.

Connecting Computers

  • To connect your computer, install the GetPhotoSphere app for your computer from the website: https://cloud.getphotosphere.com.
  • When you launch the app, a QR code will appear.
  • Next, open the GetPhotoSphere app on your phone and tap the QR Code Scanner from the home screen.
  • Scan the QR Code on your computer screen and confirm the login.

User Resources

Installing Hard Drives

  • Your PhotoSphere may have come with a pre-installed hard drive. If this is the case, you can skip these steps.

Steps

  1. Open the fastener of the hard disk tray by pulling it away from the device using the latch.
  2. Remove the hard drive tray.
  3. Remove the side guide rails from the hard drive tray, starting at the narrow end.
  4. Place the hard drive into the tray and line up the screw holes with the guide rail holes.
  5. Reattach the guide rails.
  6. Slide the hard drive and tray back into the device, leaving the latch open until it is almost in (the latch will close in the last ¼” of closing).
