Ask Alexa to call any contact or phone number supported by your home phone service provider.

Troubleshooting:

Reset Your Echo Connect

Use the Reset button on your Echo Connect to restore the device to its factory settings.

Tip:  Having trouble with your device? Restart it first to see if it resolves the problem. To restart your device, unplug the power adapter from the back of the device.

  1. Use a paperclip (or similar tool) to press and hold the Reset button.
  2. Wait until the lights on the device flash (about 20 seconds).

When the power LED is white and the Wi-Fi LED flashes amber, your Echo Connect is in setup mode.

Echo Connect Is Having Setup Issues

Your Echo Connect is unable to connect to Wi-Fi or cannot connect to your Echo device.

Try the following steps to resolve issues with your Echo Connect not connecting to Wi-Fi or your Echo device.

  • Check that you have the latest version of the Alexa app.
  • Make sure your Echo device is compatible with Echo Connect.
  • Restart your Echo Connect by unplugging the power adapter from the back of the device, then plugging it back in.
  • Check that your Wi-Fi credentials are correct.
  • Force close the Alexa app and try setup again.
  • Restart your internet router and/or modem.
Calling Doesn’t Work with Echo Connect

Your Echo Connect is unable to place or receive phone calls.

  • Check that your Echo device has power and is connected to Wi-Fi. Try saying something like, “What time is it?”
  • Make sure that the phone cable is connected to Echo Connect.
  • Confirm that the lights on top of your Echo Connect are all solid.
  • Restart your Echo Connect by unplugging the power adapter from the back of the device, then plugging it back in.
  • Pick up a handset and listen for a dial tone to confirm that your phone service is working. Contact your phone service provider if there is no dial tone or you’re unable to make calls.
  • If you’re trying to place calls using your contact’s name, check that their name and number are correct. Update your contact’s information in the Alexa app or your phone’s address book, depending on how they were added.
  • Echo Connect automatically dials U.S. phone numbers with a 1 and an area code. If your contact’s phone number already has a 1 before the area code, it could cause issues when calling.
  • Reset your Echo Connect.
