PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION, OPERATION OR MAINTENANCE. PROTECT YOURSELF AND OTHERS BY FOLLOWING THE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS. FAILURE TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE AND/OR LOSS OF WARRANTY COVERAGE!

IMPORTANT SAFETY

LOCATION AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTION INFORMATION.

Intended use

The fan is designed exclusively for the ventilation of dry rooms.
It is intended for private use only and is not suitable for commercial use.
Only use the fan as described in these operating instructions.

1. Only use this appliance in accordance with the guidelines in the operating instructions. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer could result in fire, electric shock or personal injury.
2. Remove the packaging and make sure that the unit is not damaged. If in doubt, do not use the unit and contact the service centre or your dealer.
3. Keep children away from packaging materials. There is a danger of choking if swallowed!

4. If the power supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorised service centre in order to avoid all possible risks.
5. Before connecting the appliance to the mains, check that the type of current and mains voltage correspond to the specifications on the appliance type plate.
6. The electrical socket in which you connect the unit must not be defective or loose and must be suitable for the required current load and, above all, reliably earthed.
7. Avoid using an extension cord as it could overheat and cause a fire.
8. It is forbidden to adapt or modify the characteristics of this appliance in any way and use only spare parts and accessories recommended by the manufacturer (failure to do so will invalidate the guarantee and warranty).
9. If the unit has a defect, switch it off and contact your dealer or the customer hotline.
10. Always and only contact customer service centres authorised by the manufacturer for any repairs to the appliance, mains plug or cable. You can find the service centres online at www.becool.at.
11. Children under the age of 8 and persons with reduced physical, mental, sensory or spiritual capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge should not use this appliance unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
12. Do not operate the unit unattended. If you leave the room, always switch off the unit.

13. Children must not play with the appliance.
14. Do not twist or bend the mains cable.

15. Do not use the appliance with wet hands.
16. Do not use the unit outdoors.
17. Never operate the unit in rooms where gas, oil or sulphur are present.
18. Do not use the unit near water or high humidity, e.g. in damp basements, next to swimming pools, bathtubs or showers. Make sure that no water enters the unit.
19. Do not place any objects on the unit.
20. Place the unit on a stable and level surface.
21. Never cover the unit.
22. Never insert fingers, pens or other objects into the unit and make sure that the air inlet and outlet are never blocked.
23. Always switch off the appliance before unplugging it from the mains.
24. Do not pull on the mains cable to disconnect the appliance from the mains power. Always pull on the plug to unplug the mains cable.
25. Do not handle the plug with wet hands to avoid electric shock

26. Unplug the appliance when you are not using it, before cleaning it, when it needs maintenance or when it is moved from one place to another.
27. Keep the unit in good condition by maintaining and cleaning the unit. If you have any questions about maintenance, you can contact the customer hotline/service centre authorised by the manufacturer.
28. Keep and store the appliance in a safe, dry place out of reach of children when not in use.

Recycling, disposal, declaration of conformity

The packaging materials can be recycled. Therefore, it is recommended to dispose of them in sorted waste.

The symbol “crossed-out dustbin” requires the separate disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). Electrical and electronic equipment may contain hazardous and environmentally dangerous substances. Therefore, do not dispose of this in unsorted residual waste, but at a designated collection point for waste electrical and electronic equipment. | BATTERY DISPOSAL
In accordance with Legislative Decree 188 of 20 November 2008 transposing Directive 2006/66/EC on batteries, accumulators and related waste, the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol on the battery indicates that it is prohibited to dispose of waste batteries in household waste.Batteries and accumulators contain highly polluting substances. The user is obliged to dispose of used batteries at the collection points in the municipality or in the appropriate containers. The service is free of charge. In this way, the legal requirements are met and the environment is protected.
You will find these signs on batteries:
Li = battery contains lithium Al = battery contains alkali Mn = battery contains manganese
CR 2025 (Li); AA (Al, Mn); AAA (Al, Mn)

Description of the unit

Note:
If the fan has to be stored for a long time and is not used regularly, place the fan in its original packaging in a dry place. When using it for the first time after a long period of inactivity, make sure that the fan is clean and the motor blades are unrestricted (unit not powered).

Assembly

1. Remove all parts from the packaging for assembly.
2. Place the main body on the fan frame and tighten the lock nut at the bottom of the frame.

Note: When placing the main body on the frame, make sure that the notch on the frame is locked with the hole on the fan body. See (Fig. A.)

3. Align the screw hole on the rod with the screw hole on the fan body, insert the motor and fix it with the screw.

4. Place the rear grille on the motor (the handle must point upwards) and tighten the grille fixing screw clockwise.
5. Remove the black sleeve on the motor spindle. Place the fan blade on the motor spindle and tighten it with the wing screw (anticlockwise).
6. Loosen the screw on the protective ring. Attach the protective ring to the front grille. Place the front grille over the rear grille with the logo horizontally and adjust the protective ring on the rear and front grille so that it is properly seated between the locking tabs of the protective ring.
7. Ensure that both the rear and front grille edges are inserted into all moulded locking tabs, then tighten the screw on the guard ring.
8. Attach the fog tube properly to the fog outlet on the front grille.

Please note: The fog tube must be correctly attached to the fog outlet to avoid leaks.

Fill water tank

Please avoid moving the fan when it is filled with water.
The maximum capacity of the water tank is 2.6 litres.
Pour the water into the storage tank by pulling the tanks upwards and unscrewing the tank lid as shown in (Fig. B).

Note: Make sure that the mains cable does not get in the way when opening and closing the water tank.

ATTENTION!

  • Make sure that the product is disconnected from the power supply before filling or refilling the water tank.
  • Use only water in the water tank. Do not add chemicals, oils or other additives.
  • Only use cold or lukewarm water in the water tank. The water must not be warmer than 40°C.

Operation

Place the fan on a dry and stable surface and insert the plug into the socket. The unit emits a short “PEEP” sound indicating that power is being supplied. For easy operation, the unit can be operated via the control panel on the unit or with the remote control provided

Remote control

The remote control has separate buttons to switch the light on and off. The functions of the other buttons are identical to those of the touch panel. To use the remote control, make sure the fan is connected to the power supply, point the remote control at the sign on the front below the control panel and press the desired button.

Handle the remote control carefully; do not drop it. The remote control requires 2x AAA batteries. Dispose of the batteries properly at the end of their life.

Note: The unit has an infrared sensor. Make sure the remote control is pointed at the sign on the front of the control panel and that nothing is blocking the signal path, otherwise the remote control will not work.

Note: A beep sounds each time a button is pressed.

Control

ON/OFF:
Press this button to switch the fan on or off. This product has a memory function. When it is switched on, it operates with the previously set speed and oscillation parameters in normal mode.

Oscillation button

PRESS the OSC button to activate the pan function for left and right. PRESS the button again to stop it.

Speed button
PRESS the speed button to set the speed to Low/Medium/High. The speed levels are shown on the display with these symbols: Speed

Timer button
While the fan is operating, press the timer button. The timer indicator lights up and the display shows the selected time in hours. Press the timer button again to select the desired time after which you want the fan to switch off. The time can be selected in the range from 1 to 8 hours. Once the selected time is reached, the fan switches off automatically and remains in standby mode.

MODE:

Mode (Normal/Nature/Sleep – press repeatedly to select)

Normal mode:
In this mode, the speed of the fan can be set to low, medium or high as required and the swivel function can be switched on or off. In this mode, the fan is operated at the constant speed to which it is set. The display symbol for normal mode lights up.

Nature Mode:
In nature mode, the fan simulates a natural breeze by switching on and off in a cyclical pattern depending on the speed setting, as it happens in nature. The indicator symbol for nature mode lights up on the display.

Sleep mode:
The fan simulates a gentle, natural breeze suitable for nighttime use. The sleep mode indicator symbol lights up on the display.

LED ON/OFF:
Use this button to switch on the LED lights at the front of the unit. PRESS and HOLD the button for 3 seconds to switch the light on, repeat the process to switch it off.

MIST button:
PRESS the MIST button on the control panel only when the tank is sufficiently filled with water. After pressing the button, the humidification process is started.
To switch off the MIST function, PRESS the same button again.

Note : If the water level in the tank is too low, the fan will automatically switch off the fogging function.

CLEANING

NOTE:

Always disconnect the mains plug from the socket before cleaning the appliance.

1. DO NOT immerse the unit in water or spray it with other liquids.
2. DO NOT use solvents or other chemical products for cleaning. Store the fan in a dry place when not in use.
3. When you stop using the fan at the end of the season, wipe off the dust to keep it in good condition for the next season. If necessary, dismantle the grille and remove the fan; clean it with a soft, damp cloth.
4. Remove the water tank and clean it with lukewarm water; before replacing the water tank in the appliance, make sure it is completely dry. Drain the water from the appliance, place a container under the water drain (marked with an arrow below) and drain the water remaining in the water tank.

With this quality product from BE COOL, you have made a decision for innovation, durability and reliability.

For this BECOOL appliance we grant a guarantee period of 2 years from the date of purchase, valid in Austria! If, contrary to expectations, service work should nevertheless be necessary on your appliance during this period, we hereby guarantee to repair it free of charge (spare parts and labour) or (at the discretion of Schuss) to exchange the product. If neither repair nor exchange is possible for economic reasons, we reserve the right to issue a credit note for the current value.

In the case of air conditioners, please contact the customer hotline as a first step (see sticker on the unit or cover page of the operating instructions), in the case of fans, please contact your specialist dealer or us directly. We would like to point out that repair work that has not been carried out by the authorised contract workshop in Austria will immediately terminate the validity of this warranty.

This warranty does not cover:

  • We do not accept any liability for consequential damage in the event of improper use.
  • Repair or replacement of parts due to normal wear and tear
  • Damage due to non-observance of the operating instructions
  • Devices that are used – even only partially – for commercial purposes
  • equipment mechanically damaged by external influence (fall, impact, breakage, improper use, etc.) as well as wear and tear of an aesthetic nature.
  • Equipment that has been improperly handled
  • Units that have not been opened by our authorised service workshop.
  • Damage caused as a result of improperly closed condensation drain valves of air conditioners or improperly inserted water tank.
  • Consumer expectations not met.
  • Damage caused by force majeure, water, lightning, overvoltage.
  • Units where the type designation and/or serial number on the unit has been changed, deleted, made illegible or removed.
  • Services outside our authorised workshops, the transport costs to an authorised workshop or to us and back, and the associated risks.

We expressly point out that within the warranty period, a lump sum of € 60,- (indexed basis CPI 2010, June 2015) will be charged in case of operating errors or if no error was detected.
The provision of warranty service (repair or replacement of the appliance) does not extend the absolute warranty period of 2 years from the date of purchase.

The 2-year warranty is only valid on presentation of the purchase receipt (must contain the name and address of the dealer as well as the complete designation of the unit) and the corresponding warranty certificate, on which the type of unit as well as the serial number (visible on the box and on the back or bottom of the unit) must be noted! Without the guarantee certificate, only the legal guarantee applies!

We expressly point out that the statutory warranty rights are not affected by this guarantee and continue undiminished.

Schuss Home Electronic GmbH and its vicarious agents shall only be liable for damages in the event of gross negligence or intent. Liability for loss of profit, expected but not realised savings, consequential damage and damage from third party claims is excluded in any case. Damages to or for recorded data are always excluded from the liability for damages.
