DIRECTV error code 792

Error 792 indicates that your receiver is searching for an Over-The-Air or Off-Air Tuner signal. This is not an issue with the DIRECTV signal, but an issue with locating a signal from a separate antenna that may be in use.
Severe Weather
This may be caused by a severe storm. If you are experiencing heavy rain,
hail, or snow, please wait for it to pass. If there are no severe weather
conditions in your area, proceed to the steps below.
Local Channel Connector
Are you using an Over-The-Air Local Channel Connector?
- Disconnect the Antenna power supply -wait 10 seconds and plug it back in
- Disconnect the USB connector from the receiver port and reconnect it
- Review local channel availability
AM21 or other Off-Air Antenna
Are you using an Off-Air Antenna with an H20, HR20 or HR10-250 receiver?
- Check the cabling between the Off-Air Antenna and the receiver
- Ensure cabling is not damaged
- Ensure connections are tight at the antenna and the Off-Air in port on the receiver
Is an External Off-Air Tuner (AM21) attached to your receiver?
- Check the cabling between the Off-Air Antenna and the receiver
- Ensure cabling is not damaged
- Ensure connections are tight at the antenna and the Off-Air in port on the AM21
Are DIRECTV satellite local channels available in your area?

This is a nonprofit, independent source where you can verify that you are able to get a clear over-the-air signal in your area. If the site indicates “ No OTA Signal “, you may not be able to receive off-air antenna channels.
