Follow these easy steps to set your DVR remotely using the DIRECTV app:
- Launch the DIRECTV app on your smartphone or tablet. If you don’t have the DIRECTV app installed, download it here.
- Select Browse for TV.
- From the main menu, select Movies, TV Shows, Networks, or Guide and choose a program. If you know what you want to record, you can search for it by name.
- On the next screen, select Record. If you selected a series, you will have the option to either record a single episode or record the entire series.
- Select the DVR you want to record to and select Record to confirm.
Note: Remote DVR scheduling requires a compatible computer or mobile device and one of the following receiver models: R15 or later; HR20 or later; and the TiVo series 2 receivers with 6.4a software. Remote DVR scheduling does not require the DIRECTV app to be on the same network as the receiver.
