Temperature Knob
Choose the desired or recommended temperature setting. The temperatures on
the control panel are a conversion to standard recipe temperatures. Food in
the Baker cooks both from Baker air temperature and proximity to the heating
elements.
Timer Knob
To activate the 30 minute timer, turn the TIMER Knob clockwise. When the
time has elapsed or the TIMER Knob is manually turned to the OFF position, a
bell will sound and the Baker will shut off. For cooking times greater than 30
minutes, the timer will need to be reset by turning the TIMER Knob to the
additional required time.
Note:
For times shorter than 15 minutes, or when toasting, turn the TIMER Knob
past the 15 minute mark and then back to the desired time.
POWER Light (Red)
Illuminates when the Baker is plugged in.
READY Light (Green)
Illuminates when the Baker has preheated to the set temperature, and will
cycle on and off during the cooking cycle.
12” Deep Dish Pan
The Deep Dish Pan is ideal for baking deep dish pizzas or other food items.
If using both pans in the Baker place the Perforated Pan on top of the Deep
Dish Pan only. Never place the Deep Dish Pan on top of the Perforated Pan in
the Baker as this may create of risk of fire from the food touching the top
heating elements.
12” Perforated Pan
The pan with perforated holes is ideal when toasting, or cooking thin
crust, and regular crust pizzas when placed in the Baker by itself. The
Perforated Pan can also nest on top of the Deep Dish Pan when cooking more
delicate items when less bottom browning is desired.
Operation
Caution:
Appliance surfaces, pans, and food are hot during and after use! Do not touch
hot surfaces. Only use the Cool Touch Handle when opening the Lid. We
recommend using a kitchen towel or oven mitts when opening the Lid as hot
steam can be released. A kitchen towel can be used to remove the pan from the
Baker. Use heat resistant, non-metal utensils to remove food from the pans.
Be sure that the TIMER Knob is set to OFF position before plugging the cord into the outlet and when unplugging the Baker after use. To avoid a potential burn injury, NEVER cook or preheat the Baker with Lid open.
Note:
The Baker’s heating elements will only operate if the TIMER Knob is turned to
a timed setting. When the timed setting has elapsed the Baker’s heating
elements will turn off.
-
Prepare your food on the desired pan.
-
Depending upon the recipe your Baker may or may not require preheating. For packaged frozen pizzas we recommend placing the pan with food in the Baker before starting the preheat cycle. Simply add 5 minutes to the packaged directions cooking time.
Caution: If cooking prepackaged food ensure all packaging materials are removed prior to placing in the Baker to avoid risk of fire. -
Fore recipes that require preheating turn the TEMP Knob and TIMER Knob to the desired position.
-
Once the READY Light has illuminated you can place your pan with food into the Baker.
-
When the timer has expired or you have set it to the OFF position open the Lid fully and remove the pan from the Baker.
Helpful Hints
- It is recommended that pizzas are rotated a quarter turn halfway through the cooking process.
- If less bottom browning is desired for items such as cookies, biscuits, etc. we recommend placing them on the Perforated Pan which is then placed on the Deep Dish Pan in the Baker. This will allow air to circulate in between the pans and prevent burning the bottoms.
- If preheating, ensure that all pans are removed from the Baker.
- Ensure that food is not contacting the heating elements. The Perforated Pan should only be used when toasting bread or bagels, cooking thin crust pizzas, or other thin food items. Rising crust pizzas and all other foods should be cooked in the Deep Dish Pan which provides more clearance from the top heating element.
Care & Cleaning
Ensure that your Baker is unplugged and all parts are cool prior to cleaning.
- Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and touch electrical parts, creating a risk of electric shock.
- To protect against electric shock, do not immerse cord, plug, or housing of the Baker in water or other liquids.
- The Deep Dish Pan and Perforated Pan can we washed in warm soapy water or in the dishwasher
- The interior of your Baker can be cleaned with a damp soapy cloth. Do not attempt to move heating elements during cleaning.
