Flame-Thrower Coil
Installation Instructions
Caution: Before performing any work, make sure to disconnect the battery to prevent vehicle damage or accidental electrical shock.
- Verify that the original coil form factor, mounting type, and connector match the new Flame-Thrower coil. Some coils types look similar but are not interchangeable.
- Carefully disconnect the wiring connector at the coil. Connectors have locking tabs that must be depressed prior to removal. Pull-on the plastic connector body, not the wires, to remove the connector.
- Disconnect the spark plug wire from the coil output tower.
- Remove the two bolts that mount the coil and remove the original coil.
- Install the Flame-Thrower coil in the same location. Reuse the factory bolts and tighten the coil in place.
- Plugin the coil wiring connector. Apply dielectric grease to the opening of the spark plug boot and install the wire. The wire should snap into place.
LIMITED WARRANTY
PerTronix, LLC. warrants is to the original Purchaser that its Ignition products shall be free from defects in material and workmanship (normal wear and tear excluded) for 90 days from the time of purchase. If within the period of the foregoing warranty PerTronix finds after inspection, that the product was used in a normal/proper manner, consistent with PerTronix instruction, and that the product or any component thereof is defective, PerTronix will, at its option, repair such products or components or replace them with equivalent parts.
All returns must be issued a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number. To obtain an RMA number please contact PerTronix Technical Department at 909-599-5955. When returning, leave all wires at the length in which they have been installed. Include reference to the RMA number, a copy of the original receipt, and a detailed account of the reason for return. All warranties are to be returned prepaid shipping to the address specified in the RMA. PerTronix will return replacement or repaired product prepaid to the address provided in the RMA.
THE FOREGOING LIMITED WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. THE FURNISHING OF A REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT COMPONENT OR COMPONENTS SHALL CONSTITUTE THE SOLE REMEDY OF PURCHASER AND THE SOLE LIABILITY OF PerTronix LLC WHETHER ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT OR FOR NEGLIGENCE AND IN NO EVENT WILL PerTronix LLC BE LIABLE FOR MONEY DAMAGES WHETHER DIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL.
