Why can I not play music through my Jabra device, but can use it for calls?
Your Jabra device or connected Bluetooth device may not support the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), which enables multimedia audio communication, such as music, between your Jabra device and a connected Bluetooth device. Check the technical specifications for your devices to see whether A2DP is supported.
If your Jabra product does support A2DP, verify in your smartphone’s Bluetooth settings that your Jabra device is selected for media streaming.

Why is there a dif ference between the audio quality for calls and music listening?
Telephony/communication products typically support wideband audio–also known as HD (High Definition) voice. HD voice reproduces voice quality so that it sounds crisp, clear, and natural at the receiving end of the call. HD voice provides high quality audio for calls but not for music listening.
To get the best possible audio quality for music reproduction, a product should support music and video streaming in Hi-fi stereo. Bluetooth devices typically use the A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) standard for streaming high quality stereo audio. For details on Jabra product performance for calls versus music, see the datasheet and technical specifications.

Compatibility
Can I pair my Jabra Bluetooth device with a computer?
No, we do not support direct connectivity between a Jabra Bluetooth device and a computer. We therefore cannot guarantee device performance, or provide support for performance problems that may result from using unofficial compliance.
Jabra Bluetooth headsets are optimised to be used with smartphones/mobile phones. They are not specifically optimised to be used directly with a computer.
Pairing your Jabra Bluetooth device with a computer may work for audio
streaming, but not for call control, which is not supported by many computers.
Also, if connected to a computer, audio quality could vary because Bluetooth
is not optimised for audio streaming on many computers.
However, this would be highly dependent on the specific model of the computer.
In addition, Bluetooth connectivity would place the following requirements on a computer:
- The appropriate Bluetooth drivers from the computer manufacturer must be installed. Jabra does not supply Bluetooth drivers, and Jabra devices are therefore dependent on the drivers already installed on a computer.
- The computer must also support the Bluetooth profiles that are supported by the Jabra device. The Bluetooth profiles for Jabra devices are listed in the technical specifications located on the Jabra product support pages.
- The latest operating system updates from Microsoft or Apple must be installed on the computer.
For more information about operating system updates, visit the support pages for the computer:

Windows 7, 8.1, 10:

*Product dependent
Note:
- Do not use your smartphone charging port to charge your Jabra product.
- Do not use a USB port in a desk phone to charge your Jabra product (unless it is specified to have charging capability).
Storing
The storage guidelines apply to the use of batteries in general, and do not
apply specifically to their use with Jabra headsets. To preserve and store
rechargeable batteries, use the following guidelines:
- Avoid placing batteries in direct sunlight.
- Avoid placing batteries in extreme cold
- Do not store batteries for extended periods without recharging them, around every 3 months for most products.
- If you handle or store rechargeable batteries incorrectly, their lifetime may be reduced.
Note :
The battery in your Jabra product is not replaceable.

Do Jabra headsets protect my hearing?
Yes, Jabra headsets are safe to use. All Jabra headsets, whether they are a Consumer or Enterprise solution, feature a technology that protects a user’s hearing against sudden, loud sound spikes.
Many acoustic experts define acoustic shock as exposure to sounds over 135 dB SPL, even though lower sounds can also damage the hearing. All Jabra headsets cut off sounds at 118 dB SPL RMS (Root Mean Square). The strong basic protection in all Jabra headsets is called Jabra PeakStop™.
The majority of the Jabra Enterprise solutions offer an additional level of hearing protection called Jabra SafeTone™. Jabra SafeTone consists of the basic Jabra PeakStop protection technology plus the enhanced Jabra IntelliTone™ protection technology. Jabra SafeTone follows the guidelines within international health and safety directives to protect employees and users against the dangers associated with long-term cumulative exposure to noise.
For more details about Jabra hearing protection, see the following:

How far can I move away from my smartphone while still staying within Bluetooth range?
Most smartphones support a Bluetooth range of up to 10 metres or 30* feet.
To understand Bluetooth range, it is important to consider the two main Bluetooth power classes for audio devices, including Jabra devices and smartphones:
- Class 1 – up to 100 m/300* ft
- Class 2 – up to 10 m/30* ft
*Range information is a general guideline. The Bluetooth class must be the same for two paired devices, otherwise the wireless range will be limited to the potential range of the least powerful device. For example, a Class 1 device paired with a Class 2 device would normally result in Class 2 wireless range.
Due to the effect on battery consumption, the vast majority of smartphones use Bluetooth Class 2. This means that you can expect Class 2 wireless range, even if the connected Jabra Bluetooth audio device is advertised as supporting Class 1.
In addition, the potential range is further reduced by obstacles and electromagnetic interference (EMI). When indoors, other electronic devices, walls, and furniture may also reduce the signal. Outdoor use, without obstacles and EMI, usually results in greater wireless range. However, leaving your smartphone inside your vehicle and walking away from it (for example, leaving a truck cab and walking behind the trailer) could result in a loss of audio. If you take your smartphone with you, the Bluetooth audio device you are using will always remain within range.
Was this useful?
What are Bluetooth classes, versions, and profiles?
Class
The class of a Bluetooth device determines the wireless range of the device.
It is possible to connect two Bluetooth devices with different classes without
issue. However, they will default to the lowest class and its range
capabilities. There are several other factors, such as interference and
positioning of the Bluetooth device, that can also impact the overall
operating distance of Bluetooth devices
Version
Just like other technologies, as the Bluetooth technology is improved, new
versions become available. All Bluetooth versions are backward compatible and
will default to the available features of that Bluetooth connection. Connected
Bluetooth devices are not required to have the same Bluetooth version for
compatibility.
Bluetooth profiles determine the kind of data that is exchanged using
Bluetooth technology. For two Bluetooth devices to be compatible, they must
support the same profiles. Support for Bluetooth profiles can vary among
Bluetooth devices. For information on which profiles your
devices support, refer to the technical documentation for each device.
While there are many online resources available, we recommend visiting the official Bluetooth website for further information: www.bluetooth.com

What is a PBAP (Phone Book Access Profile)?
A Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) enables a Jabra headset to access the phone book of a paired mobile phone, and announce the name of an incoming caller. It is similar to caller ID, which announces the number of an incoming caller.
To use the PBAP function, the following prerequisites must be met:
- Your mobile phone must support PBAP.
- When you pair your Jabra headset with your mobile phone, you must allow access to your phone book.
- The number of the incoming call must be associated with a contact that is stored in the phone book.
- The incoming call is not from an unknown, unlisted, or blocked caller.
Note: PBAP in Japanese only supports number read-out. PBAP in Chinese is supported only in Chinese Simplified.
